Fully realized power 273 A mysterious entity tells him he has completely obtained his power, while emphasizing that his potential remains infinite.

Background

Kasgar transmigrated to Chemos, arriving in Karax Fortress as a member of the Sherlock family. Initially confined to his manor, he learned that his family had arranged a political marriage for him and sought out the intended bride himself. The woman was Fulgrim: Karax’s legendary engineer and ruler, whom Kasgar recognized as a Primarch and the figure destined to fall to Slaanesh. 1 2

He first intended to refuse Fulgrim and live quietly to avoid Chaos’s attention. After seeing Fulgrim’s concern for Chemos’s children and hearing her desire to improve humanity’s future, he chose instead to help prevent her fall and save the IIIrd Legion. Fulgrim accepted his feelings and his gift of a Centaur gold ring, which became the symbol of their relationship. 2 3

For five years, Kasgar studied swordsmanship, mechanics, and governance under Fulgrim while training relentlessly in his spare time. During this period, his physical readings remained those of an average twenty-year-old human; he did not visibly age, much like Fulgrim. 12 19

Kasgar later underwent customized Space Marine augmentation. The Emperor personally influenced the process, while Melusine performed major modifications. His resulting abilities and combat skill earned him an appointment as Acting Prefect of the Third Legion. 28 29 33

Appearance

Kasgar is described as handsome from his earliest days on Chemos. Following his augmentation, he becomes a towering Space Marine; in armor, he stands nearly three meters tall. His face remains almost unchanged even after ten thousand years. 1 215 229

  • Golden-red cracks appeared along his right arm when his psychic power awakened. 70 81
  • Wore exceptionally agile artificer armor, modified by Fulgrim from Expeditionary Power Armor and fitted with optical camouflage and dual-tech circuitry. 33
  • Later used the purple-and-gold Armor of Fate, created to contain his unstable psychic power while allowing him to wield it. 213 229
  • After evolving in Nurgle’s Garden, he no longer possessed a conventional physical body; his form was maintained by psychic flame. 266

Personality

Kasgar is determined to alter the future despite knowing the danger involved. His decision to remain beside Fulgrim, train under her, become a Space Marine, and enter the Great Crusade all stem from his resolve to save her and the Emperor’s Children from Chaos. 3 12 33

He is protective of civilians and children. While fleeing Sulfa forces, he upholds his promise to protect refugees despite being pursued by a psyker, and he risks himself to find treatment for the unconscious Corleon. 15 16

Kasgar is deeply distrustful of Warp entities and psychic excess, having been deceived by entities that presented themselves as benevolent spirits. He warns others about the danger of Warp influence, though Magnus later exposes that Kasgar himself has used rituals to communicate with Warp entities when necessary. 30 105 113

He often uses humor, improvisation, and unconventional solutions under pressure. His willingness to accept humiliation for Fulgrim’s plans contrasts with his resentment at being treated as her “personal male pet” or attendant. 64 66
