Background

Luojia grew up on the desert world of Colchis, where survival depended on attaching oneself to the strong. Cole Faren adopted him, while Aribas became his closest companion. Over decades, the pair subjected Luojia to physical torment and psychological manipulation, transforming his devotion and Primarch strength into tools for their political ambitions. 171 172 249

As the Holy Son, Luojia debated religious doctrine, helped form the Holy Knight Order, and led the Holy Church Army’s Eastern Crusade. His raw strength allowed him to unify surrounding nations in only a few years, while Cole Faren and Aribas used him as the army’s “warhammer.” 170 171 172

Mordred and Horus found Luojia in the Black Gobi, where he was being whipped by knights. After learning about his upbringing, Mordred arranged the assassination of Cole Faren and Aribas. Luojia was devastated by their deaths, despite their abuse, and demanded vengeance against their killers. 170 172

Mordred judged Luojia unfit to immediately command the Word Bearers and subjected him to Atlas’s Titan Training Method on Cole’s Ruins. The month-long survival trial escalated from monsters and Atlas veterans to an Emperor-class Titan, artillery bombardment, and a final Malkgorra duel against Mordred. Luojia emerged physically and psychologically changed, accepting Mordred’s recognition while retaining a powerful attachment to him. 173 180

Appearance

Luojia’s appearance changes markedly with his condition and psychic power. In Colchis, he wore heavy armor and a wig while leading the Holy Church Army; his body bore dense whip scars inflicted before his reunion with his brothers. 171

  • Dense scars across his back, which he once regarded as proof of devotion. 171
  • During his psychic awakening, golden runes covered his body and silver hair grew from his formerly bald head. 175
  • As pontiff, he manifested wings of light while enduring divine lightning. 308
  • Later manifested twelve wings of light through the faith of humanity, though he refused the role of a god. 396

Personality

Luojia is intensely drawn to strength, a worldview shaped by Colchis’s harsh society and by Cole Faren’s conditioning. He initially treated pain, submission, and religious devotion as signs of worth, making him exceptionally vulnerable to manipulation by authority figures. 171 249

Despite this trauma, he is resilient, courageous, and capable of adapting. He endured Atlas’s extreme training, began questioning Cole Faren’s teachings, and accepted responsibility for the suffering of Colchis rather than continuing to see himself solely as a victim. 177 180 183

His faith never disappears; it evolves. Luojia ultimately rejects blind worship and divine servitude, developing a theology in which faith is used to liberate people and divine legitimacy is subject to his own judgment. 396 397
