Background / History
At roughly fifteen or sixteen, Hancock and her younger sisters were enslaved in the Holy Land of Mary Geoise. She was malnourished, filthy, and conditioned to remain silent around outsiders for self-preservation, though her features already resembled the beauty she would later become known for 150.
Yaen encountered the Boa Sisters in the slave prison and treated them with kindness. When Saint Mjosgard ordered the sisters to consume Devil Fruits and fight Yaen in exchange for their freedom, Hancock refused; she valued Yaen's kindness above the offer of liberation 154.
After seeing Yaen's true appearance, Hancock became openly infatuated with him. Her determination to seize control of her own fate triggered the first awakening of her Conqueror's Haki 156. Yaen then entrusted her with the power of the Great Demon of Black Wings 157.
Hancock used this power in the Mary Geoise incident, killing Saint Mjosgard, defeating CP0 agents Barak and Yaen, and escaping Chief Flod's pursuit despite her lack of combat experience 161 164 182. The Great Demon form restored her body, erased her scars and Celestial Dragon slave mark, and became a symbol of her rejection of her former status 163.
Appearance
Hancock is renowned as the sea's most beautiful woman. As an adult, she has long black hair, an exceptionally beautiful face, a slender waist, and long legs; her proud bearing and natural allure captivate Marines, pirates, and Kuja warriors alike 421.
- In her youth, she was frail, emaciated, and covered in filth due to enslavement 150.
- Her usual Kuja attire emphasizes her figure and imperial presence 421.
- In Great Demon of Black Wings form, she manifests black wings, horns, a mask, and dark green eyes while retaining an unnatural allure 163 183.
- The form's mask concealed her identity on the World Government bounty poster 183.
Personality
Hancock is proud, willful, domineering, and easily angered—particularly when someone insults Yaen, calls her a slave, or disparages the Kuja. She openly considers herself the authority of Amazon Lily and expects others to submit to her 220 264 350.
Beneath that arrogance, Hancock is intensely loyal and protective. She refused freedom rather than fight Yaen, intervened to save Perona from Kaido, and repeatedly placed herself between Yaen and danger 154 243 493. Her devotion to Yaen also exposes a far more excitable, shy, and fangirl-like side that contrasts sharply with her public persona 156 345.
Her rivalry with Robin brings out her possessiveness and temper. Robin describes Hancock as willful, arrogant, and hot-tempered, though Hancock still respects Corazon because of his connection to Yaen 207.
Abilities & Skills
Love-Love Fruit
Hancock's Devil Fruit grants her overwhelming charm and the ability to petrify those affected by it.
- Her charm can overwhelm living beings who become captivated by her beauty 261 421.
- She petrifies enemies who show affection for her, including Marines and pirates 261.
- Perfume Demon: Fleur — An Armament Haki-enhanced kick used against Borsalino 274.
- Slave Arrow — Fires pink arrows during combat 274.
- Her charm was strong enough to briefly influence the reigning Kuja Emperor during Hancock's accession 221.
Great Demon of Black Wings
A Void Soul Reaper Blade power bestowed by Yaen, transforming Hancock into a winged demon-like combatant 157.
- Grants flight through large black wings 163.
- Provides Steel Skin, allowing her to withstand barrages that would otherwise pierce her body 163.
- Enhances her physical strength and speed to the point that she could contend with Wildfire King and briefly clash with Kaido 239 245.
- Grants Super Regeneration, which healed damage to her arm after using Spear of Thunder at close range 243.
- Hancock initially lacked the combat experience to use the form effectively against CP0 agents 163 164.
Haki
Hancock possesses all three forms of Haki.
- Observation Haki — Mastered through intensive training before the Beast Pirates' war 239.
- Armament Haki — Used to reinforce her kicks and block Borsalino's Light Speed Kick 239 274.
- Conqueror's Haki — Her kingly qualification enabled her to claim the Kuja throne under Amazon Lily tradition 156 221.
- Conqueror's Haki Coating — Adds destructive black lightning to her attacks and can damage opponents such as Kaido and Borsalino 246 275.
Kicking Techniques
Hancock's primary fighting style centers on overwhelmingly powerful kicks.
- Her Haki-infused kicks matched Wildfire King's attacks in a battle observed as one of the sea's strongest displays of kicking techniques 239.
- Spear of Thunder — A powerful dark-green energy attack capable of blocking Kaido's Thunder Bagua and negating Heat Breath, though its close-range use can injure Hancock herself 243 246.
- Her Conqueror's Haki-coated kick cracked Kaido's defenses and sent his Azure Dragon form flying 246.
- She dispersed one of Shanks' flying slashes with Perfume Demon: Fleur enhanced by Conqueror's Haki Coating 493.

Relationships

- Boa Sandersonia — Younger sister and former fellow slave. Sandersonia supports Hancock's authority and follows her decisions 150 156 264.
- Boa Marigold — Younger sister and former fellow slave. Marigold supports Hancock while occasionally questioning her impulsive decisions 150 221 264.

- Corazon — An ally Hancock refers to as her brother; she vows to become strong enough to assist in his war against the Beast Pirates 221.
- Perona — Hancock protected her from Kaido's Thunder Bagua despite the danger 243.
- Fleet Admiral Sengoku — Yaen's father, whom Hancock nervously addressed as “Father” when seeking approval to marry Yaen 278.
