Background

Sally was born to a human adventurer father and a Ghost Tribe mother. When she was five, her parents were killed after Sally's mother revealed her identity to defeat a B-rank demon: Linus's Squad murdered the injured couple for profit, stole their possessions, and blamed them for the mission's failure. Sally was expelled by her parents' former companions and forced to survive by begging, scavenging garbage, and foraging outside towns. Her mixed heritage made her a target of constant abuse and discrimination. 23 46

When Sally was nearly eight, Grandma Oran recognized her by her black hair and small horn while Sally searched through a garbage heap. Oran became one of the few sources of kindness in Sally's life. 23

Sally later saved Lu Minghao from a watchtower guard, brought him home, shared her food, and named him “Sally's Slime.” He became her first friend and the person she regarded as her light. After leaving her village with Lu Minghao, Sally's Ghost Tribe bloodline began awakening through regular nourishment. She entered Ister under the stolen identity “Ilina,” accepted war and reconnaissance quests, and learned that Arnold had posted an enormous bounty for a half-human, half-ghost girl named Sally. 49 51 53

Carolien attempted to manipulate her during a reconnaissance mission, but Sally saw through him. When he summoned a demon and recognized her as Arnold's target, Sally and Lu Minghao killed both threats. Consuming the demon's heart granted Sally new skills. 57 60 61
