Destruction of the Shi Family

Shi Xiaokun identifies himself as the sect master of the site Ning Qi discovers and a leader of the Shi Family, once the Immortal World’s third-greatest clan. The Devil Race destroyed his people and sealed their clan gate—the Bronze Mirror—to conceal the attack while targeting other clans. A wisp of Shi Xiaokun’s remnant soul delivered a warning to Di Xi, who stopped that plan 586.

Tens of thousands of years later, Shi Xiaokun remained within the sealed site, using illusions and devouring entrants. Ning Qi resisted his illusion through Di Xi’s bloodline power. Their confrontation became a negotiation after Shi Xiaokun learned that Ning Qi possessed Immortal-Demon Power 586.

Service to Ning Qi

Shi Xiaokun surrendered his Soul Blood after Ning Qi agreed that he could become the Boundary Spirit if their world matured. Ning Qi then refined the Bronze Mirror into his Sumeru Space, leaving Shi Xiaokun to oversee the merger 587.

The arrangement developed into a close working partnership: Shi Xiaokun managed their evolving realm, studied formations, gathered resources, and supported Ning Qi’s cultivation. Ning Qi later explicitly introduced him as his Boundary Spirit 610 618 648.

Personality

Shi Xiaokun is loyal, steady, and protective of Ning Qi. He stands guard during cultivation and condemns Medicine Spirit for taking Heavenly Tribulation’s True Form and Sword Formation away when Ning Qi needs them. Ning Qi directly contrasts his loyalty, courage, and steadiness with Medicine Spirit’s unreliability 772 773.

His confidence sometimes becomes overconfidence. He initially claims that he can handle a hostile Boundary Spirit, only to discover that the enemy has been tracking him. He also charges a powerful figure of light and nearly gets refined before Ning Qi rescues him. Once he understands the danger, however, he repeatedly recommends retreat and prepares escape formations 617 619 777.

He is an enthusiastic resource collector, taking even ordinary valuable materials rather than leaving them behind. His pragmatism includes devouring enemies, but he also objects to disturbing graves, arguing that the dead deserve respect 586 620 708 781.
