Background

Early Human Race

In its early form, the Human Race was created by Nüwa but possessed frail Primordial Dao Bodies. Though a Sage's protection prevented outright extermination, humans remained vulnerable to primordial beasts and the collateral damage of Witch Clan and Demon Clan conflicts. Nüwa and the Three Pure Ones refused repeated requests to impart cultivation methods, treating humanity chiefly as a source of merit and destiny. 111

Human sages and tribal powerhouses eventually rejected this dependence, declaring that the Human Race would control its own fate. After dozens or hundreds of generations of inherited research, they created the Human Race Cultivation Method and received descending merit for doing so. The new system allowed humans to contend with ordinary beasts, demons, and ghosts, claim territory, and compete for cultivation resources. 111

Their growing influence provoked hostility from the Witch Clan and demon race. The North Sea Demon Court later planned a mass slaughter of humans, intending to use human flesh, blood, and souls to forge the Witch Slaughtering Sword. 111

Sage Suppression and the Human Sovereigns

The rise of the Human Race became a source of contention among the Sages, who divided the merit and destiny associated with the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. Nüwa secured the position of Heavenly Sovereign for her brother Fuxi. 143

In the Sage-controlled order, the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors were stationed in Fire Cloud Cave under the stated purpose of suppressing Human Race fortune. Creation and transformation

Nüwa initially created three thousand Primordial Humans by hand, then used the Man Creating Whip to rapidly create further humans. Martial Dao and self-determination

Taiyi established the Martial Dao because the Human Race required a cultivation path independent of Hongjun's Immortal Dao. Martial cultivation strengthens the body, cultivates an unyielding spirit, and is presented as a path through which humans can control their own fate. 631

The three thousand True Martial Divine Steles became the inheritance of the Martial Dao. When Hongjun attempted to destroy them with Purple Firmament Divine Lightning, the Human Race united behind Taiyi. Three thousand experts sacrificed themselves to form a Martial Dao True God, while the elders and their racial fortune condensed the Martial Ancestor of Humanity. 634 635

The Martial Ancestor, formed from the collective will of humanity, possessed status comparable to a Heavenly Dao Sage. Though initially destroyed by Hongjun, it revived and later sent Hongjun flying with a single punch. 636 637 638

Hongjun ultimately accepted a compromise: the Human Race could cultivate both Martial Dao and Immortal Dao, but the Mystic Sect could not compel martial artists to abandon their own path or interfere in Human Race internal affairs. 639

Path of Humanity and the era of Humanity

Taiyi later established the Path of Humanity, completing the balance of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity as the Three Powers. The Path of Humanity spread throughout the Primordial World and the Three Thousand Greater Worlds, reducing the Heavenly Dao's exclusive authority. 681

The Human Race's growth initiated the era of Humanity, marked by a five-colored canopy of Path of Humanity Luck. The Witch Clan, Spirit Race, Innate God Race, Asura Race, and other allied powers entered Humanity's Tide and received its benefits. 689
