Personality

Mark is ambitious, competitive, and highly concerned with proving the Free Nation’s superiority. He entered Block Civilization expecting to become a Lord of Civilization and repeatedly treated Gu Yu’s block, resources, and rankings as prizes to be taken 3 19 23.

He is capable of tactical adaptation under pressure. Mark coordinates closely with Jet, uses monsters or summoned Zombies to control enemy aggro, and can quickly exploit an unexpected political opportunity, as when he redirected Tiamat’s anger toward Gu Yu 78 83 218.

As an alliance leader, however, Mark is authoritarian and pragmatic. He silences dissent through threats, prioritizes the alliance’s core members over weaker participants, and is willing to abandon Hornes when destroying the Nether Gate becomes necessary 87 90 150 151.

Combat Proficiency

Mark is an experienced melee fighter who favors axes and shields. His passive ability increases his damage output, allowing him to defeat enemies in fewer strikes than ordinary players 67 117.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Sky Island Survival

Mark begins with one of the strongest starting positions: Pumpkin House, complete with food, shelter, and a partner in Jet. His early confidence is reinforced by the pair’s kill ranking, but Gu Yu soon overtakes them through the Floating Island’s monster-spawning setup 3 10 11.

After crafting golden armor and acquiring bows, Mark attempts to take Gu Yu’s block. The attempt fails when Gu Yu’s Iron Golem nearly kills both Mark and Jet; they later return to kill the damaged Golem, only for Mark to nearly die after triggering a trap in the nearby cabin 19 23 30.

Dusk Exploration

Seeking Diamonds and stronger equipment, Mark and Jet enter the Nether and discover a fortress. Mark defeats Blazes, becomes overconfident, and barely survives the Wither effect inflicted by Wither Skeletons 39.

In Dusk, he struggles against the invulnerable Archmage Lich before receiving intelligence on its mechanics. Even with that information, the Lich’s varied Magic Orbs force Mark and Jet into a difficult battle 48 50. They later gain the Spartan Warrior module, defeat Minotaur Mushrooms for the Diamond Minotaur Battle Axe, and clear the Phantom Knight at the cost of both original Spartans 61 67 71.

Anti-Gu Yu Alliance

After the growing danger of Sudden Changes, Mark becomes leader of an alliance formed to oppose Gu Yu and survive the enhanced Zombie outbreaks. He centralizes resources and authority in his own block, threatening dissenters into submission 86 87.

During a Blood Moon, Mark proves his strength against Zombie hordes and gains the alliance’s respect. His retreat order later leaves several contestants outside the stone house, where they are killed after a Lightning Creeper breaches the shelter 90.

Block Development and Dragon Alliance

Mark gradually shifts from individual combat toward building a civilization. He strengthens the alliance’s aerial bastion, recognizes Villagers as the foundation of a block, mass-produces Spartan Warriors, and gains firearm ammunition through the Firearm Crafting Table 142 143.

When the alliance’s copied Mob Spawner Tower catastrophically fails, Mark remains focused on studying the design flaws rather than abandoning the project entirely 163 164. Later, he wins Tiamat’s favor by presenting Gu Yu as their common enemy, gaining the Dragon Mother’s support and the Bestiary manuscripts 218.
