History

Ancient Era and decline

The Human World was once among the strongest worlds in the Void Realm. Human society was open to other races, maintained passages to other worlds, hosted assemblies of myriad races, and possessed extensive knowledge of the Real Realm through the Human Emperor Palace 198 466.

Thirty thousand years ago, the Human Race fought a World War against the Demon World. Its inheritance was severed, much ancient history was lost, and the Human World withdrew from its formerly open posture by closing external passages 198. The collapse of the Human Emperor Palace left the race vulnerable to the Blood Moon Organization, which began covertly curbing the growth of Human Race geniuses 323.

The post-war Human World was guarded by a succession of Human Dao Protectors:

• Shen Yang — first Dao Protector after the Ancient Era; used the Human Emperor Palace's resources and the Eighteen Dao Paths to protect talented humans from Blood Moon 198 323.
• Li Wentian — Shen Yang's successor; ancestor of Dagan's Li Imperial Clan 198.
• Dongfang Xiaoyao — founder of Xiaoyao Holy Land 198.
• Great Demon — later Dao Protector who preserved the Sun Moon Tower during his lifetime 198 301.

Dragon Person War

The Dragon Person Race manipulated conflict between the Human Race and Demon Race while preparing to invade the Human World. Once this was exposed, the Five Domains and Great Wilderness Demon Race agreed to cooperate against the external threat 159.

The Human World Allied Forces assembled at Cangqiong Ridge under the Empress of the Five Domains and the Sword Master. They defended the ridge with the Immortal Formation: Line of Heaven, a no-fly formation intended to negate the Dragon Person Race's aerial advantage 275 276.

During the war, the awakening of Spiritual Artifacts caused Dragon Person war machines to rebel, greatly disrupting the invading army 282 283. In one simulated outcome, the Human World Allied Forces defeated the Dragon Person Sixth Expeditionary Army; Chen Yi then repaired wartime devastation and altered the Human World's coordinates to make future invasions more difficult 301.

The Real Realm diaspora

In the Real Realm, the Human Race is broadly treated as the lowest-status intelligent race despite being highly populous. Their treatment differs by planet, but slavery, forced labor, cultural suppression, and restrictions on cultivation are recurring conditions 349 367 380.

The Human Race's native racial talent gives each newborn a chance to randomly manifest a Special Physique or special cultivation talent. The strength of these manifestations has no stated upper limit 244.

• Human Special Physiques are random rather than hereditary.
• A great prodigy's child may be ordinary, while an unremarkable parent may produce an exceptional genius.
• This differs from bloodline inheritances, which are passed down through generations.
• The Dragon Person Race retained the Three-Headed Race's Wise Venerable for research after he manifested a Special Physique identified as a Human Race talent 244.

Language and cultural legacy

Human language remains widely understood in the Real Realm, including by translation Spiritual Artifacts used by visiting Angel Race members 306. This widespread linguistic influence is regarded as evidence that the Human Race once held an overlord position in the wider world 349.
