The Sword Master first appeared as a young, unremarkable disciple of the Wuji Sword Sect, rescuing Chen Yi from an overwhelming demon assault and giving him a Jade Token for assistance. He explained the agreement governing conflict between the Human and Demon Races, then departed without seeking repayment. Although he initially presented himself as an ordinary disciple, Chen Yi saw him wield flying swords with extraordinary ease and learned that the Sword Master had judged the Myriad Souls Banner by the absence of human souls within it. 49

A decade later, Chen Yi learned that this seemingly ordinary disciple was actually the Wuji Sword Sect’s Sect Master. By then, the Sword Master was known as a powerful Martial Artist, and his sect’s disciple Wan Jianyi won the Cauldron Summit Tournament. 53
