Background / History
The Dragon Person Race was once the Human Emperor’s contingency force. Following his death, they were tasked with destroying the Demon Race and initiating the World War. Over tens of thousands of years, they developed their world through conquest, resource extraction, and the accumulation of Mortal World Qi. 467
Thirty thousand years before the Human World invasion, the Dragon Person Race destroyed the Demon Race after it retreated to the Demon World. They later manipulated the Human Race and Demon Race toward internal conflict while preparing their own campaign into the Human World. 159
Their World War strategy does not end with military conquest. After taking a plane, they seize its Five Elements Root Artifact, merge it into their own world’s foundation, refine its Earth Spirit for Longevity Source, slaughter its living beings to release Mortal World Qi, and transfer that Qi away. Conquered worlds are consequently stripped of the conditions needed to continue existing. 289
Their early Human World operations relied on covert scouts, possession, hidden strongholds, and Demon Bridge teleportation formations. The Chixin Sect’s Demon Bridge Tower served as a hub connecting multiple early strongholds. 175 176 180
The Dragon Person Expeditionary Army eventually launched an open invasion of the Human World. Its forces favored elite combatants, war machines, biological weapons, long-range bombardment, and formations over sheer numbers. 168 271 279
The Sixth Expeditionary Army alone fielded approximately two hundred thousand elite Dragon Persons, all above the Fourth Realm, alongside Five Elements Demon Spirits, controlled war beasts, destructive Spiritual Artifacts, and combat engineers. The Dragon Person World normally deploys at least two expeditionary armies against an invaded world: one for the main assault and one as a reserve force. 230 271
Following severe losses, including the rebellion of their sentient Spiritual Artifacts, the Dragon Person forces were weakened in the Human World. Their remaining members were later harvested by Venerable Lin to restore the Three Heavenly Venerables’ power. 282 283 296
In the Real Realm era, the Dragon Person World remained a heavily industrialized, militarized plane. Chen Yi later negotiated with its World Lord, who agreed to protect the Human World’s Root Artifact and provide Artifact Refining materials in response to an alleged threat to the Void Realm. 462 467 468
Appearance
Dragon Persons generally possess draconic humanoid bodies. Their appearance varies by individual and state, particularly between physical and soul forms. 64 120 175
- Horns, often thicker and more curved among stronger individuals. 120
- Scaled skin; observed colors include black and red. 64 120
- Long tails covered in scales and barbs. 64
- Leathery wings; a ten-meter-tall Dragon Person was observed with a wingspan of at least fifty meters. 120
- Elongated, beak-like facial structure in one transformed individual. 64
- Triangular eyes and clawed hands. 120
- Soul-state members may partially inhabit a host body while remaining visible only to those capable of perceiving them. 175
- Certain individuals possess elemental traits; a red Dragon Saint was a Fire-Attribute Dragon Person capable of swallowing explosive flames. 121
- The Swift Wing Race is a fragile Dragon Person subspecies distinguished by exceptional innate flight speed. 271
Society and Culture
The Dragon Person World is organized around war. Its population treats contribution to warfare as a central social value: powerful members are expected to spend their lifespan in battle, while those unable to fight may contribute their bodies and labor. 467
- Militarized economy — The entire world serves warfare, with factories mass-producing weapons and war implements through Spiritual Artifact-based assembly lines. 462 467
- World conquest — Conquered planes are developed, stripped of resources, and sometimes repurposed as supply depots or expansion zones. 462
- Bloodline hierarchy — In territory controlled by Dragon Person-led sects, Dragon Persons receive the highest status; races close to them receive comparatively better treatment, while humans occupy the lowest status. 367
- Advanced intelligence network — Information about two human Martial Gods entering the Dragon Person World spread rapidly through their network. Their agents monitor not only enemy Martial Gods but also Martial Saints considered likely to advance. 463 464
- Internal advancement culture — Individuals may discard or kill subordinates to claim credit and advance. 464
- Reproductive limitations — Like other intelligent races of the Void Realm, Dragon Persons face substantial restrictions on reproduction. Soul-state members require physical bodies to produce descendants. 231 367
- War-based social worth — Dragon Persons view an inability to contribute to war as shameful rather than tragic, and regard the bodies of weaker clansmen as resources that stronger members may inherit. 467
Abilities & Traits
Soul Wandering Heaven and Earth
The Dragon Person Race’s defining racial talent allows its members to survive after bodily death as soul bodies. 175 231 374
- Can remain active in soul form after their physical body is destroyed. 175 374
- In the Void Realm, their souls are not automatically reaped by the Underworld, allowing them to persist without physical bodies. 133
- Soul-state members can conceal their aura so thoroughly that ordinary Spiritual Sense cannot detect them. 177 185
- Soul bodies are difficult for conventional cultivators to harm without suitable soul-targeting methods. 374
- When cornered, infiltrators can self-destruct their souls, producing substantial destructive force. 179
- In the Real Realm, the talent still allows postmortem soul movement, although the race’s body-sharing advantages are subject to greater realm-dependent restrictions. 374 508
Body Sharing
Dragon Persons can transfer into the bodies of other living Dragon Persons, effectively preserving powerful individuals as long as sufficient lifespan remains. 231
- A displaced host can continue existing in soul state. 231
- This capacity allows strong members to remain at their peak for extended periods. 231
- The ability is restricted to Dragon Person bodies for its life-extending function; it is not presented as unrestricted body sharing among other races. 231
- In the Real Realm, high-level Dragon Persons cannot necessarily transfer bodies as freely as their Void Realm counterparts. 374 508
- Because powerful members can retain or obtain usable bodies, intact corpses of high-level Dragon Persons are unusually difficult to preserve. 508
Possession and Infiltration
Soul-state Dragon Persons can inhabit humans and operate covertly within enemy territory. 175
- Yin Rui was possessed without realizing the Dragon Person’s presence. 175
- Possessing scouts can observe and interact with their hosts’ surroundings, though they cannot physically handle objects without expending power. 175
- Early infiltrators were selected for loyalty and typically refused interrogation, choosing self-destruction rather than disclosure. 175 179 185
- Their concealment is sufficiently effective that even Martial Saints may fail to perceive them without specialized means. 185
- The race also employs Demon Seeds, which attach to living creatures, survive on their life force, and transmit spatial-temporal coordinates back to the Dragon Person World. 230
Soul Refining Technique
Dragon Persons do not primarily follow conventional Qi refinement. Their foundational cultivation path is the Soul Refining Technique. 374
- Soul Refining techniques continuously strengthen the intensity of their already unusual souls. 262
- Losing a physical body does not necessarily reduce a Dragon Person cultivator’s combat strength significantly. 374
- High-level Dragon Person soul bodies can still use powerful killing moves. 374
- Their powerful souls make them especially difficult to convert through soul-based artifact methods; a Dragon Person Martial King’s soul may rival or exceed that of a Human Race Martial Saint. 286
Dragon Person Physique
Dragon Persons possess formidable innate bodies and are generally stronger than Demon Race or Human Race combatants at comparable cultivation levels. 122
- Their scaled bodies, claws, horns, and wings provide strong physical combat capability. 64 120
- A Dragon Saint-level individual required the combined sacrifice of many Demon Souls, Hu Tiangong’s power, and a Dao Protector’s sneak attack to defeat. 122
- Their wings do not guarantee sustained flight; effortless flight generally requires higher cultivation. 462
- Fire-Attribute Dragon Persons can resist or consume flame-based explosive attacks. 121
Technology and Warfare
- Demon Bridge Formations — Teleportation formations linking hidden strongholds; the Chixin Sect’s ancient tower contained one on each floor. 176
- Demon Seeds — Special treasures that attach to living creatures and continually transmit spatial-temporal coordinates to the Dragon Person World, facilitating later forced passage creation. 230
- Magic Bullet Cannons — Standardized ranged weapons used by Dragon Person soldiers. 241
- Mass-produced weapons and armor — Rank-and-file soldiers commonly wield standardized barbed fork-like weapons and wear high-quality mass-produced armor. 269
- Demon Spirits — Biological weapons deployed against Martial Artist factions, crystal mines, and medicinal-herb fields. 168
- Five Elements Demon Spirits — Mass-produced Spirit Artifact-derived units, created through Spirit Beads and used for both warfare and industrial labor, including mining, processing, and transport. 244 282
- Demon Sealing Net — A black mist grid designed to obstruct travel and seal Mortal World Qi, preventing enemies from recovering energy during battle. 269 270
- Spirit Beads — Energy sources used by Dragon Person forces to recover combat power when Mortal World Qi is sealed. 270
- City-Annihilating Cannons — Large-scale destructive weapons capable of devastating terrain and formation sites, even at risk to nearby Dragon Person personnel. 277 278
- Spiritual Artifact war machines — Their military relies heavily on advanced Spiritual Artifacts, a weakness exposed when these artifacts gained intelligence and rebelled. 282 283
- War beasts and war chariots — Expeditionary armies employ captured Exotic Beasts controlled by handlers, as well as massive flesh-like war chariots for ground assaults. 275
- Qiankun Space Cannon — Can briefly open a World Passage, though the documented passage could only admit one Spirit Condensation Realm individual. 241
Longevity Source
The Dragon Person Race extracts Longevity Source from conquered worlds’ Earth Spirits. This substance sustains and extends the lifespan of Dragon Person souls rather than directly preserving their fleshly bodies. 467
- Longevity Source is packaged into Dragon Person Coins. 467
- Dragon Person Coins function as both lifespan reserves and currency. 467
- The coins contain transparent Longevity Source sealed within small round metal discs. 289
- Longevity Source must be slowly refined with the recipient’s own power before it becomes usable lifespan; higher-realm cultivators convert it more slowly. 289
- Soldiers may receive lifespan directly as military pay. 179 231 467
- Their long-lived elite class, combined with body sharing, enables powerful individuals to remain active while weaker members continue cultivating. 231
- A Dragon Person’s lifespan refers primarily to the duration for which their soul can remain stable. Their physical body may still decay and be replaced through body sharing. 467
