Background
Origin
Zhang Hao was originally an ordinary person whose consciousness arrived in Chaos. The Great Dao stripped his memories and used the Great Desolation material within them to construct the world's underlying setting, including the Three Thousand Demon Gods and Pangu's heaven-opening mission. 1
After Pangu created the Great Desolation, its Heavenly Dao remained incomplete. The Great Dao had Pangu split Zhang Hao's True Spirit in two; one half merged with the world and completed its Heavenly Dao, granting it independent consciousness. 1
Awakening and the Dao-Demon Conflict
The newly awakened Zhang Hao initially struggled to understand his identity as the Heavenly Dao. He established an early policy of preserving the Great Desolation's general course while tolerating minor deviations. 1 3
When Luohu used a System-granted experience card to attain Hun Yuan-level power and attempted to erase Hongjun, Zhang Hao froze time, rejected Luohu's attempt to refine the Great Desolation, and saved Hongjun. Luohu was subsequently transformed into the Great Desolation's demonic path and established the Dao Heart Sowing Demon trial. 3
Partnership with Hongjun
After Hongjun became a Saint, Zhang Hao revealed the existence of Transmigrators and Systems, arranged Hongjun's three Zixiao Palace sermons, and entrusted him with seven strands of Primordial Violet Qi. He also placed part of Hongjun's True Spirit in the Heavenly Dao void, granting Hongjun administrative authority and ensuring he would not fall while the Great Desolation endured. 4
Although Zhang Hao initially regarded Systems as threats that plundered the world's origin, he and Hongjun later determined that many were fragments of supreme treasures seeking repair. This led them to treat selected Systems and Transmigrators as potential resources rather than indiscriminately destroying them. 4 24
Appearance
The Heavenly Dao has no fixed form. Its early avatars appear as indistinct, blurry humanoid figures whose pressure is unmistakably overwhelming. 4 108
- Can merge with the Heavenly Dao void and manifest only as a voice, will, or vague silhouette. 3 213
- At the origin point of the restored Prehistoric World, Zhang Hao appears as an ordinary, unremarkable person despite surpassing Saints and the conventional concept of the Great Dao. 462
- As Daoist Dihong, he can stand within Chaos without any attack reaching him. 469
Personality
Zhang Hao is fundamentally impartial toward the beings of his world. He does not reject Transmigrators solely for being outsiders, provided they do not endanger the Great Desolation or plunder its origin. 12
His impartiality is tempered by practicality. He regards the Great Desolation as something to develop rather than a fixed chessboard, and considers Outer-Heaven Demons, System hosts, and even Chaos Demon Gods as possible sources of vitality or resources when properly controlled. 108 175
He is blunt and occasionally irreverent toward those beneath him, but shows long-term trust toward capable allies. He encourages Hongjun to pursue an independent Dao rather than be permanently bound to the Great Desolation as a Heavenly Dao Sage. 24 195
