Duanmu Huai investigated strange phenomena, traveled to the past, and fought demons while trying to return to his own era. Back in the present, he filmed a prank with B Komachi, but Ruby, MEM, and Toyohama Kazuka found him on Fujikasane Mountain just as the surroundings went dark.

• Duanmu Huai investigated Class F’s inexplicable horror-film DVD, and the students’ memories and records changed after he arranged a professional comparison shoot.
• Duanmu Huai helped Ya Naijian practice pretending to date him, then traveled to Hakone with Sakurajima Mai and Kurokawa Akane to film a horror movie.
• Duanmu Huai and the two women followed Asagumo Ayame through the fog into the past, where villagers hailed them as Heavenly Maidens and asked them to defeat demons.
• Duanmu Huai killed the spider demons and later fought Upper Moon Three, then took a paid assignment from Ubuyashiki to investigate Yoshiwara.
• Duanmu Huai used Li Xia as bait and killed the demon siblings who attacked her, gathering enough demonic energy to return to his own time.

Duanmu Huai survived the haunted White Snow Hall, uncovered Old Man Ueno’s ritual, and began making a horror film to gain power in Warp Space. A shamisen then pulled him into a Demon-filled maze, where he joined the Butterfly sisters against Upper Moon Two.

• Duanmu Huai rescued Ruby, MEM, and Toyohama Waka from a Demon, then helped Sakurajima Mai and Waka deal with their body swap and strained relationship.
• Duanmu Huai supported Waka through her doubts, while his growing entertainment work brought him into the Classics Club’s research on food in ghost stories.
• Duanmu Huai took the Classics Club to Old Man Ueno’s White Snow Hall, where guests shared ghost stories before they found Sakura Kae’s corpse and became trapped in a supernatural version of the mansion.
• Duanmu Huai fought the ghosts and creatures born from the stories, then used his Night Woman portrayal to defeat the Seven Lords in the Mental World.
• Duanmu Huai returned to the real world, identified Old Man Ueno’s ritual and investigated how stories and fear shaped Warp Space.

• After filming with Himekawa Daiki and Yura Katayose, Duanmu Huai encountered Miwa Kasumi and learned about Curse Spirits and Curse Masters.
• Duanmu Huai defeated Gojo Satoru, killed Hanami and Kettle Head, and later killed Ryomen Sukuna and Mahito during the Shibuya crisis.
