Duanmu Ai traced the television-related murders to Shido Masayoshi, Akechi Goro, and the Holy Grail beneath the city, then defeated Goetia and returned to the Inquisition’s work. She joined Mary in a campaign against vampires and werewolves, and the arc ended as Duanmu Huai faced the transformed Michael at Pier Twelve.

• Duanmu Ai protected Kujikawa Rise, discovered that Rise’s Soul Projection was part of her, and rescued her after she vanished into Warp Space.
• Amamiya Ren, Sakamoto Ryuji, and Kitagawa Yusuke succumbed to the Great Old One, while Duanmu Ai investigated the murders and killed Maruki Takuto.

Duanmu Huai and Mary hunted Ghouls in the Far East, then destroyed the Black Goat’s Child and wiped out the Lo Race’s galaxy. After visiting True Clever’s space station, Duanmu Huai was stranded on a world under attack by the Demon Race and set out to confront its forces.

• Duanmu Huai and Mary joined Mado and Amon in hunting Ghouls, killing Jason, Rabbit’s associates, and One-Eyed Owl while the Countermeasures Bureau investigated the Inquisition.
• Duanmu Huai used Mary as bait at a Ghoul auction, then massacred the Ghouls and their human collaborators, drawing objections from Amon and debate among Bureau leaders.
• Duanmu Huai and Mary joined the assault on the 24th District, where Bronze Tree awakened the Black Goat’s Child and spores transformed Ghouls into monsters.
• Duanmu Huai held off the Black Goat’s Child while Mary found its core, and they destroyed it by killing the Masked Man fused inside.
• Duanmu Huai attended Dadanier’s banquet, confronted the Galaxy Business Alliance, and destroyed the Alpha Triangle Galaxy after declaring an Extermination Order against the Lo Race.

Duanmu Huai led the campaign to the Northern Fortress while uncovering the Magical Elves’ connection to Warp Space and their influence over Paretia. After helping Euphilia and Tirte break their contracts, he found the fortress retaken and its soldiers apparently normal, leaving the next move undecided.

• Duanmu Huai killed a Demon Race leader, saved a ruined village, and set out for Paretia to find a Magic User.
• Duanmu Huai repelled a dragon attack with Anisphia, then accepted King Olfen’s request to help Prince Yargard reclaim the Northern Fortress and protect Anisphia.
• Duanmu Huai took charge of the campaign, killed a noble who challenged him, and warned Anisphia and Euphilia that the Demon Race was drawing the allied army into a trap.
• Duanmu Huai destroyed the flying monsters around the ruined city and warned that Yargard’s plan to use it as a base could leave the army stranded.
• Yargard asked Duanmu Huai to help him reform Paretia by replacing Elf Magic and noble armies, and Duanmu Huai agreed on the condition that Yargard never ally with the Demon Race.
• True Clever joined a convoy carrying a sealed crystal, and Duanmu Huai freed Lumiel Rene Paretia, who revealed that Magical Elves were Warp Space demons and had corrupted the kingdom’s Founding King.
• Duanmu Huai destroyed Tirte’s Elf Contract and entered Euphilia’s mental world to drive out the Magical Elves, while Euphilia later chose to dissolve her own contract.
• After Euphilia broke her contract, Duanmu Huai flew with Anisphia to the Northern Fortress, found its defenses intact and its soldiers apparently normal, and decided to return and report.
