Ch. 82Leaving the Phantom Troupe

Hisoka survived Chrollo’s attack by using a postmortem Nen grudge, and he and Gelman left the Phantom Troupe. Chrollo vowed they would pay for Phinks and Kopf’s deaths as the remaining members prepared their bodies.

  • Illumi helped the battered Hisoka out of the crater, and Hisoka explained that his postmortem Nen had restarted his heart and lungs.
  • Hisoka reattached his severed arm while Gelman held Machi and Illumi released Pakunoda from his control.
  • Chrollo declared that Hisoka and Gelman were no longer members, and Machi removed Gelman’s Spider tattoo.
  • Chrollo threatened Hisoka and Gelman over Phinks and Kopf’s deaths, while Hisoka challenged him to a deadly contest.
  • Hisoka, Gelman, and Illumi left as the Phantom Troupe members stayed behind to stitch Phinks and Kopf’s bodies together.

Ch. 83Hisoka's Proposal Letter

Gelman and Hisoka stayed at the Zoldyck Family estate while Hisoka had his severed arm reattached, and Gelman warned Shizuku about the Phantom Troupe. The next morning, Hisoka left Gelman a letter challenging and proposing to him and Illumi, and Gelman was summoned to meet Silva.

  • Illumi brought Gelman and Hisoka through the Zoldyck Family gates and arranged for Hisoka's arm to be reattached.
  • Gelman warned Shizuku that Chrollo might target her, and he agreed to Biscuit's suggestions to add Wing and a medical professional to their group.
  • Hisoka had his arm reattached, and he and Gelman ate dinner before retiring to separate rooms.
  • The next morning, Gelman received Hisoka's challenge and proposal letter and sent it to Illumi at the Main Residence.
  • That afternoon, Illumi asked Gotoh to take Gelman to meet Silva, the head of the Zoldyck Family.

Ch. 84The Zoldyck Family: A Portrait of Its Members

Illumi brought Gelman to meet Silva and Kikyo, who questioned him about his skills and his connection to Meteor City. After Gelman left, Silva concluded that Gelman and Hisoka might bring down the Phantom Troupe.

  • Gotoh escorted Gelman to the Zoldyck estate, where Illumi led him inside and identified his brother Mihai along the way.
  • Silva and Kikyo argued about letting Killua leave the estate before Kalluto alerted them that Gelman had arrived.
  • Silva questioned Gelman about his assassin ranking and how he had killed Phinks, and Gelman explained that he had separated Phinks from the Phantom Troupe and trapped him in a one-on-one fight.
  • Kikyo asked Gelman about Meteor City and its Grand Cathedral, and Gelman confirmed that both remained as he remembered them.
  • After Illumi took Gelman away, Kalluto observed that Gelman had stayed calm during the family’s staged argument, and Silva predicted that Gelman and Hisoka would bring down the Phantom Troupe.

Ch. 85The Mischievous Killua

Gelman met Killua while leaving the Zoldyck estate, and Killua challenged him to a sparring match. Their fight ended when Gelman's evil intent stopped Mike and terrified Killua, who fled to a tree and questioned what he had just witnessed.

  • Gotoh asked Canary to escort Gelman to the estate gate.
  • Canary and Gelman encountered Killua feeding Mike, and Killua teased Gelman before asking him to spar.
  • Killua attacked with Snake Bite, but Gelman caught his arms and effortlessly dodged his kicks.
  • Killua broke free by trying to bite Gelman's hand, then prepared to attack again with Body Bend.
  • Mike charged at Gelman, who released his evil intent and made the hound hesitate until Canary told him to stand down.
  • Killua leapt onto a tree branch in fear and wondered why Gelman had a move like Illumi's.

Ch. 86A Newcomer to the Post Carriage Group

Gelman explained Nen to Killua and left the Zoldyck estate, then Biscuit finalized the Post Carriage Group’s new members. The group prepared to depart for another Dark Continent Journey on April 1.

  • Killua asked Gelman what had stopped Mike, and Gelman explained Nen and its connection to aura and Nen abilities.
  • Gelman told Killua he could learn Nen after passing the Hunter Exam, then left through the Testing Door and ate a Choco Ball he had stolen from Killua.
  • Biscuit announced that Wing and Shubika had agreed to join the Post Carriage Group, with Shubika serving as its Medical Consultant.
  • Biscuit introduced Wing and Shubika to Gelman and Shizuku, and Gelman planned to meet the group on March 30 before their April 1 departure.

Ch. 87Meeting at the Base

Gelman arrived at Biscuit’s new mansion, where he reunited with Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku before their Dark Continent Journey. Wing told Biscuit he had found a gifted child named Chikyū to teach, and the chapter ended as Gelman asked who was still missing.

  • Biscuit greeted Gelman and showed him the mansion she had bought as their temporary base.
  • Gelman reunited with Wing and Shizuku inside the mansion.
  • Wing told Biscuit he wanted to take Chikyū, a talented child, as his disciple, and Biscuit readily agreed.
  • Wing said he would take Chikyū as a disciple after the journey, and Biscuit warned him not to make an ominous-sounding flag before they left.
  • Shizuku came downstairs, and Gelman asked who the last person was.

Ch. 88Depart on April Fools' Day

Gelman, Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku finalized their preparations for the Dark Continent journey and departed for Spider Valley Bottom on April Fools' Day. Shubika stayed behind at the mansion, still only partly convinced that they had really left.

  • Biscuit explained that Shubika was shy around strangers but focused and responsible when treating patients, and Shubika joined the planning meeting by tablet.
  • Gelman confirmed that the group would set out at 1 a.m. on April 1, and Wing cooked dinner for everyone.
  • Biscuit suggested recruiting Gourmet Hunters Menchi and Buhara for the journey.
  • Gelman, Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku each took a Messenger Imp and used the Teleport Lantern to travel to Spider Valley Bottom.
  • After they vanished, Shubika came downstairs, checked that no one was there, and hurried back to her room alone.

Ch. 89Spider Valley Bottom's Palm Print

Gelman and the others found a massive palm print in Spider Valley Bottom, evidence that a huge hostile creature had struck there after their last visit. They traveled north through the forest and detected an open area ahead, where Gelman sensed a strong stench.

  • Gelman identified the depression in Spider Valley Bottom as a giant palm print, and the group noticed the torn spiderwebs overhead.
  • Gelman and the others retrieved their luggage and left the valley, with Biscuit reminding them to use their Nen Radars if they became separated.
  • The four traveled north through the forest, scouting, recording the surroundings, and collecting remains and specimens with Shizuku's Evil Tenderfoot.
  • Biscuit reported that Magical Beast Demi-humans were appearing more often, and Gelman suggested the area might have a border separating creatures of different power ranges.
  • Gelman's En detected an open area ahead, and he caught a strong, pungent stench.

Ch. 90The True World Tree

Gelman, Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku discovered a towering World Tree beyond a chain of active volcanoes and crossed the volcanic range toward it. As they neared the far side, a flock of flame-winged birds caught up with them, forcing the group to prepare for a fight.

  • Gelman led the group out of the forest, where they saw active volcanoes and enormous trees rising beyond them.
  • Biscuit identified the trees as the real World Tree and explained Ging’s theory that the World Tree on the Six Continents was malnourished.
  • Gelman and Biscuit decided to cross the volcanic range, and the four travelers put on gas masks and hurried toward the World Tree.
  • Wing spotted a flock of flying creatures approaching, so Biscuit assigned the group positions while they continued onward.
  • The creatures caught up with them near the edge of the volcanic terrain, revealing flame-covered wings and smoke trails, and Biscuit told everyone to prepare to fight.

Ch. 91Wing's Enhancer Nen Ability

Gelman, Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku fought off a Phoenix flock using their Nen abilities. After defeating most of the birds, they fled toward the World Tree as the survivors mourned their fallen.

  • Gelman stopped the group and used the Crow Shield to block the Phoenix flock’s streams of fire.
  • Shizuku sucked away the flames with Evil Tenderfoot, allowing Biscuit to smash the charred Phoenix.
  • Wing absorbed the Phoenix’s fire into his right fist and unleashed his Intentional Punch, pulverizing the birds in front of him.
  • Gelman used the Crow Shield to reflect the remaining fire streams into the air, bringing down nearly ten Phoenix.
  • The frightened survivors stopped attacking, and Gelman led Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku toward the World Tree.

Ch. 92Guardian of the Wall

Gelman and his companions found a towering wall between the World Trees and suspected a Guardian of the Wall protected it. An invisible creature attacked, seized Gelman, and crushed him into scattered aura as Biscuit, Shizuku, and Wing watched.

  • Gelman and the others rested beneath the World Tree, and Shizuku swallowed a small root sample with Evil Tenderfoot.
  • Biscuit, Gelman, Shizuku, and Wing discovered a massive wall between the World Trees and suspected a Guardian of the Wall was nearby.
  • Shizuku suggested the Guardian might have left the palm print they had found at Spider Valley Bottom, and the group decided to climb over the wall.
  • Wing sensed an enormous approaching aura, and Gelman realized an invisible attacker was reaching for them.
  • The invisible hand pursued Gelman, whose Pressure exceeded 100 and triggered Masochist, then seized and crushed him into black and red aura.

Ch. 93Awakening in an Unfamiliar Environment

Gelman and Shizuku woke on an unfamiliar hillside after the giant shadow seized them and transported them away. Gelman concluded they were still on the Dark Continent and discovered that the ordeal had changed his attributes and traits, while Biscuit and Wing remained elsewhere nearby.

  • Shizuku told Gelman that the giant hand had seized him, Wing, and then her, and that her Nen Radar had detected Biscuit and Wing at a distance.
  • Gelman reassured Shizuku that they were alive on the Dark Continent, using the unusually abundant aura as evidence.
  • Gelman checked his watch and Hunter Badge and realized about two and a half hours had passed since they were grabbed.
  • Gelman discovered that his Physique, aura capacity, and Pressure had increased, and that he had gained the traits Toughness, Robustness, Greed, and Moody.
  • Gelman suspected the giant shadow had transported the group far away and caused his changes.

Ch. 94The Wall Breaker's Intent Is Unclear

Gelman reunited with Biscuit and Wing after the Wall Breaker transported them, and they discussed his improved aura and his sighting of the giant. Biscuit revealed an Ancient Ruins site nearby and prepared to use her ability to reduce the group's stress before they investigated.

  • Gelman and Shizuku met Biscuit and Wing beside a boulder, and Biscuit confirmed that the Invisible Hand had forcibly transported them.
  • Gelman demonstrated that his En had grown to a twenty-five-meter radius, and Biscuit linked his rapid improvement to increased aura reserves.
  • Gelman told Biscuit and Wing that he had triggered the “Masochist” effect and seen the Wall Breaker's giant figure when his Stress peaked.
  • Biscuit suggested the Wall Breaker had either kept them away from the wall or sent them to find something, then revealed an Ancient Ruins site on the horizon.
  • Biscuit noticed Shizuku had been distracted and called the group to sit down so she could summon Magical Beautician Miss Cookie.

Ch. 95Biscuit's Pressure Release Amplification

Biscuit used Miss Cookie to relieve Germann and Shizuku’s stress before leading the group to the Ancient Ruins. At the ruins, they found a tablet documenting a failed Sahelta United States expedition into the Ancient Labyrinth City, a B+ danger zone where a Plant Weapon killed nearly the entire force.

  • Biscuit used Miss Cookie’s amplified massage technique on Germann, reducing his Pressure from 115 points to 82.
  • Biscuit treated Shizuku, then rested with the group until morning.
  • Germann urged Biscuit to lead them to the Ancient Ruins, and she guided them there.
  • The group saw the ruins’ block-shaped buildings and found a tablet describing a Sahelta United States expedition seeking the All-Curing Herb.
  • Biscuit explained that the expedition entered the Ancient Labyrinth City, encountered the Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot, and left only two survivors.

Ch. 96Ancient Labyrinth City and the Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot

Gelman and the others decided to postpone exploring the Ancient Labyrinth City until they were stronger and better prepared to face the Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot. Before they could leave, an unseen creature dragged Gelman underground, and he escaped with Biscuit’s help, only to find his companions confronting a monster.

  • Gelman warned the group that the Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot was too dangerous to face with their current strength, and Biscuit agreed they should leave and return when prepared.
  • Biscuit said she might persuade Chairman Netero to help them if they could later reach the All-Curing Herb while avoiding or defeating the Plant Weapon at minimal cost.
  • Gelman proposed leaving a Lantern near the Ancient Labyrinth City, but a creature suddenly seized his ankles and dragged him beneath the soil.
  • Gelman blocked the underground tunnel with a Crow Shield and cut the cordlike restraints around his ankles with his Leech Sleeve Sword.
  • Biscuit blasted apart the soil above Gelman and helped him escape, and he picked up a severed piece of vine before returning to the surface.
  • Gelman found Biscuit, Shizuku, and Wing facing a monster at the entrance to the Ancient Labyrinth City.

Ch. 97Virtue Holy Light's Inspiration

Gelman’s Pressure triggered Virtue Holy Light, lowering his Pressure and inspiring Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku as they faced a Decapitated Antler Knight possessed by a Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot. The group chose to fight, and their boosted attacks broke through the monster’s Defense Aura Shield everywhere except the Giant Sphere.

  • Gelman’s Pressure reached 100, but it transformed into Virtue Holy Light that lowered his Pressure to 45 and temporarily boosted everyone’s combat abilities.
  • Gelman identified the Decapitated Antler Knight as a likely Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot and offered Biscuit, Wing, and Shizuku the choice to fight or retreat.
  • The Decapitated Antler Knight charged, forcing the group to scatter; Biscuit struck its flank so Shizuku could dodge its antler lance, though she suffered a shallow cut.
  • Wing’s Intentional Punch missed the Giant Sphere when the monster leaped, and the Decapitated Antler Knight knocked him into the air and sent him flying.
  • Gelman failed to pierce the Giant Sphere and cut down the monster’s vines, while Biscuit damaged its back and Shizuku broke its hind leg.
  • The group discovered their attacks could penetrate the monster’s Defense Aura Shield everywhere except the Giant Sphere, giving them confidence to continue fighting.

Ch. 98One All-Out Push to Defeat the Decapitated Antler Knight

Gelman, Wing, Biscuit, and Shizuku defeated the Decapitated Antler Knight and its parasitic Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot, then escaped the Dark Continent. Back at their base in the Six Continents, Shubika treated their injuries while Gelman went to rest.

  • Wing broke the Decapitated Antler Knight's right hind leg, giving Gelman an opening to cleave through the Giant Sphere with a critical hit.
  • After waiting to ensure the enemy was dead, Gelman had Shizuku's Evil Tenderfoot swallow the Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot, the Decapitated Antler Knight, and a piece of vine.
  • Gelman planted his last Teleport Lantern outside the Ancient Labyrinth City, and the four returned to their base in the Six Continents.
  • Biscuit brought Shubika downstairs, and Shubika professionally treated Wing, Gelman, Biscuit, and Shizuku.
  • Gelman followed Shubika's aftercare instructions and went to his room to rest.

Ch. 99Germann and Biscuit's Discussion

After recovering from the battle, Germann reviewed his new abilities and agreed with Biscuit to avoid the Wall and Ancient Labyrinth City until they were stronger. They planned to study Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot and prepare for longer expeditions to the Dark Continent.

  • Germann reviewed his gains, including increased Physique and Pressure, the Greedy Antler Helmet, the Human Buster Positive Trait, and the Reactive Gluttony Negative Trait.
  • Biscuit asked Germann what he planned to do about the Wall and Ancient Labyrinth City, and he said he would seal off the nearby Teleport Lantern Locations for now.
  • Germann and Biscuit agreed to keep Plant Weapon Gold Silver Ingot and its host's corpse rather than risk the V5 discovering that they had it.
  • Biscuit proposed asking Shubika to study the plant and finding a trustworthy Plant Hunter, but she ruled out Koukou because she would likely tell Chairman Netero.
  • Biscuit outlined plans for Shizuku and herself to investigate other secrets, Wing to train Chikyū, and herself to contact Menchi and Buhara about joining them.
  • Biscuit warned that Germann's Teleport Lantern cooldown would increase to sixteen hours on his next trip, making Gourmet Hunters important for sustaining future Dark Continent expeditions.

Ch. 100Climbing the World Tree

After recovering from his injuries, Gelman traveled to the World Tree and climbed to its summit, where he met Knuckle. Knuckle revealed that his teacher, Morel, often talked about Gelman, leaving Gelman wondering why Morel knew about him.

  • Five days after Shubika removed his bandages, Gelman decided to leave the Mansion Stronghold once he had recovered.
  • On April 7, Gelman said goodbye to the recovering group and departed after Biscuit's Magical Beautician Miss Cookie reduced his stress to zero.
  • On April 9, Gelman arrived at the World Tree, received a message from Hisoka saying their score was 2:1, and set out to climb.
  • Gelman rapidly climbed the World Tree and reached its summit in ten minutes, where he found a nest of enormous unhatched eggs.
  • Knuckle emerged from behind the eggs, introduced himself as a Beast Hunter, and said his teacher Morel often talked about Gelman.

Ch. 101A Familiar Face: Knuckle

Gelman met Knuckle at the World Tree and joined him in investigating the Feather of the World Tree. After the bird pecked them and they climbed down, Knuckle brought Gelman to meet Morel and Shoto.

  • Knuckle told Gelman that Morel had heard about his exploits and ambitions from Chairman Netero, and offered to teach him about Beast Hunting.
  • Knuckle invited Gelman to investigate the Feather of the World Tree with him and introduce him to Morel and Shoto, who were waiting nearby.
  • Gelman helped Knuckle study the eggs and nests, and learned more about the Feather of the World Tree and other beasts.
  • The Feather of the World Tree returned at night and pecked Gelman and Knuckle, so they climbed down without fighting back.
  • Knuckle took Gelman to a hotel restaurant, where Morel recognized him and welcomed him to sit and talk.
