History

Ancient Era and Decline

The Dragon Clan was one of the three great hegemonic powers of antiquity. During the Longhan Calamity, Zulong perished in Guixu, though he preserved direct bloodlines including Yinglong and Huanglong. Yinglong had been Zulong's eldest son, the clan's Great Elder and primary general, second in strength only to Zulong and Zhulong. 50

The clan survived its ancient catastrophe under immense Karmic Retribution. By Yinglong's return, its elders admitted that the Four Seas lacked even one Quasi saint guardian and fewer than a hundred Da Luo experts, leaving the clan unable to resist the Demon Race directly. 93

Although the Four Seas Dragon Kings had long controlled the seas through the clan's momentum, they had never truly possessed Four Seas authority. When Huang Tian appointed four new sea gods, Dragon Clan destiny in the seas fell by more than half; without killing those gods and seizing their authority, the clan could no longer rule the Four Seas independently. 57

Yinglong's Return

Huang Tian discovered a reborn wisp of Yinglong's divine soul concealed within the Jiaolong Clan. Yinglong offered himself as Huang Tian's mount in exchange for protection and a path to save the Dragon Clan from its Karmic Retribution. 50 51

After restoring his Nine-Clawed True Dragon bloodline, Yinglong became the clan's undisputed Dragon Emperor. He returned to the East Sea, executed the Great Elder for disparaging the Human Race, accepted mixed-blood dragons as legitimate clan members, and opened the Dragon Transformation Pool to enhance them. 56 93

War with the Demon Race

The Demon Race invaded the East Sea, expecting to crush a weakened Dragon Clan. Yinglong instead wielded the Zulong Pearl, drew upon Zulong's might, and routed Demon Sages Jimeng, Yingzhao, and Citie before Eastern Emperor Taiyi personally intervened with the Chaos Bell. 93 94

Huang Tian's guidance enabled Yinglong to withstand three tolls of the Chaos Bell and reach peak Quasi saint. Human Race forces led by Taibai and the Three Human Ancestors then reinforced the Dragon Clan and Sea Race against the Demon Race. 95 96

After the conflict, Yinglong proclaimed that the Dragon Clan would become an affiliate of the Human Race. Huang Tian accepted the oath, named the clan one of the Twelve Zodiacs and guardian divine beasts of humanity, and banned the Demon Race from the Four Seas. The Dragon Clan and allied Sea Race subsequently purged Demon Race forces from the seas. 98

Rebellion Under Zhulong

Six thousand years before the Shennong Kingdom incident, Zhulong reportedly returned from chaos with half-step Hunyuan Daluo strength and forced Yinglong to abdicate. Relations with the Human Race deteriorated afterward, though the clan initially acted only through covert provocations. 195

A Five-Clawed Dragon Clan crown prince then caused a tsunami in the Shennong Kingdom, killing millions of humans. Dragon Clan elders openly rejected the clan's former vassal status, claimed Yinglong had been imprisoned in the East Sea Eye, and dismissed humanity as Blood Food. 195 196

After Taibai executed the crown prince under the Human Emperor's edict, Dragon Clan Zhunshengs ordered the full mobilization of the clan, the destruction of the Shennong Kingdom, and the killing of any humans found throughout the Four Seas. 197

Huang Tian declared the South Sea Dragon Clan guilty of betraying its oath and slaughtering humans. The Great Dao acknowledged his proclamation, allowing the Human Race to exterminate that branch without incurring Karmic Retribution. 199
