Background / History

The Prehistoric World is a cultivation realm inhabited by the Human Race, Demon Race, Witch Clan, Dragon Clan, Phoenix Clan, Black Qilin Clan, and numerous other beings. Its inhabitants pursue ranked cultivation paths, while the Human Race’s Martial Dao spreads across the world through twelve protected Martial Dao Stone Tablets. 24

The Human Race rises from a vulnerable population on the Shore of the East Sea into a force comparable to the Witch and Demon Clans. Its civilization develops through fire, clothing, shelters, bronze ware, organized tribes, Human King Cities, and the Human Ancestral Hall. 7 9 12 14 42

Heavenly Dao exerts direct authority within the world, including manifesting an Eye of Heavenly Dao, delivering divine thunder, restraining Sage-level descent, and bestowing merit. Its relationship with Huang Tian becomes increasingly adversarial as he challenges its decisions and later threatens it directly. 5 81 150

Following the establishment of the Netherworld, the world gains the Yellow Springs, River of Oblivion, Ghost Gate Pass, an Underworld, and systems for guiding souls into reincarnation. 130

World Order

Heavenly Dao and Great Dao

The Heavenly Dao governs major heavenly phenomena and can interfere with Sage-level beings, but it is not unchallenged. Huang Tian repeatedly resists or confronts it, including through the protection of Human Race Destiny and a demand for compensation in exchange for Yuanshi’s life. 14 150

The Great Dao also responds to proclamations and judgments. It permits the Human Race to destroy the South Sea Dragon Clan without karmic consequences after the clan’s actions against humanity. 199

Destiny and Merit

Destiny is a decisive force in the world’s political and cultivation order. Human Race Destiny empowers Huang Tian’s works, protects him against heavenly lightning, strengthens the Human Emperor Sword, and supports the rise of the Human Race. 14 24

Merit is granted for actions that advance civilization or stabilize the world. Sui Ren Shi and Zi Yi Shi receive merit for creating fire and clothing, while the Witch and Demon Clans later receive Heavenly Dao Merit for making amends to the world. 8 179

Human Dao

The Human Dao becomes a major ordering force alongside the world’s heavenly and earthly structures. It shines during the Underworld’s establishment and is tied to the Human Race’s growing destiny and Huang Tian’s authority. 130 175

Major Conflicts

Human Race’s Rise

The Human Race’s rapid advancement draws the attention of powerful races and Great Divine Powers. Demon forces initially treat humans as Blood Food, while Da Luo Demon Gods wait near the East Sea for the Sage’s Barrier to vanish. 5 8

Conflict with the Earth Bear Clan becomes an early test of Human Race strength. After defeating the clan, Huang Tian subjugates it as a guardian force rather than exterminating it. 10 12

Witch–Demon Struggle

The Witch and Demon Clans contend for dominance, with the Human Race eventually reaching comparable overall combat power. Huang Tian later halts a renewed Witch–Demon war in the face of threats from other worlds. 42 167

Collapse of Buzhou Pillar

Shiva exploits a fissure in Buzhou Pillar’s laws and detonates himself, causing its collapse. The disaster destabilizes the world, damages Demon Race fortune, prompts the Witch Clan to prepare relocation, and drives multiple races toward Buzhou Mountain in an attempt to save it. 171
