Background and History
Early life and war service
Qingye was orphaned from birth and regained memories of a past life at age three. Though he mastered the Academy’s basic techniques quickly, Kakashi Hatake’s early graduation and use of the Multi-Shadow Clone Technique made Qingye recognize the limits of his natural talent. He graduated from the Ninja Academy at age nine and entered the Third Shinobi World War only months later. 1
After two and a half years on the Iwagakure front, Qingye had survived repeated squad wipeouts, awakened his Sharingan, and reached two tomoe. Following the destruction of his third squad, he returned severely injured but pressed the medical staff to let him rejoin the battlefield as quickly as possible. 1
While recovering, Qingye bound the Future Loan System, which allows him to borrow future potential or techniques in exchange for future chakra restrictions. He chose to use its Talent Enhancement function to push his Sharingan beyond the natural ceiling of his bloodline. 1 2
Iwagakure campaign and Kannabi Bridge
Qingye formed a three-man team with Hyūga Himon and Yūhi Kurenai. He used Himon’s Byakugan and Kurenai’s genjutsu to ambush enemy forces, while personally defeating Iwagakure Jōnin Tsuchikawa with Uchiha swordsmanship and Fire Style. 7
After killing Gari and devastating an Iwagakure outpost, Qingye realized that White Zetsu and Uchiha Madara had manipulated events around him. Madara had deliberately arranged dangerous situations in hopes of forcing Qingye’s Sharingan to evolve, but initially regarded Obito as the more useful Moon Eye Plan candidate. 14 16 17
Before the Kannabi Bridge mission, Qingye copied Kakashi’s newly developed Chidori with his Three-Tomoe Sharingan. Once his previous chakra loan was repaid, he immediately chose to enhance his Sharingan bloodline rather than his chakra reserves, awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan. 20 21
At Kannabi Bridge, Qingye used Susanoo-enhanced firepower, Shadow Clones, explosive tags, and large-scale Lightning Style to hold back Iwagakure reinforcements. He destroyed the bridge, defeated Kitsuchi with Chidori, and helped turn the campaign in Konoha’s favor. 29 30 31
Later war service
Qingye’s Kannabi Bridge achievements made him famous throughout Konoha, where villagers credited him with killing hundreds of Iwagakure ninja and capturing Ōnoki’s son. His reputation also drew the hostility of Shimura Danzō, who viewed the young Uchiha and his Mangekyō Sharingan as a future threat to the village. 36 38
During the conflict with Kirigakure, Qingye defeated Mei Terumī in a single blow, captured and interrogated her, and continued working alongside Kakashi and Rin. 47 50
On Kijin Island, Qingye confronted the Third Mizukage, who was being controlled by Madara. He later saved Rin from the Three-Tails, forced back pursuing Kirigakure ANBU, and was credited with defeating the Mizukage; Kirigakure’s subsequent retreat helped end the war. 69 76 80 81
Postwar activity
After the war, Qingye returned to Konoha as a celebrated shinobi. Within the Uchiha Clan, he entered the contest for Police Force squad-captain positions and became a prominent figure in clan affairs. 81 82
He trained younger Uchiha, including Shisui, whose Sharingan advanced to three tomoe during their special training. Qingye also founded the Konoha Daily after Uchiha Fugaku declined to finance the project. 92 100
Personality
Qingye is intensely survival-oriented. His early wartime experiences made him determined to become stronger, even when it meant returning to combat while badly injured or accepting restrictive chakra loans to borrow future potential. 1 21
He is analytical and distrustful of convenient explanations. After recognizing White Zetsu’s involvement in the Iwagakure campaign, he mapped Madara’s likely location, warned his teammates away from it, and treated Madara’s schemes as an ongoing threat rather than an isolated incident. 14 16
In battle, Qingye is calm, practical, and willing to use harsh methods. He relies on traps, overwhelming area attacks, deception, and terrain control rather than honorable duels. His confidence also extends to openly mocking Madara during their confrontation through the Third Mizukage. 12 29 69
Despite his pragmatism, Qingye repeatedly protects allies and subordinates. He holds off enemy forces so the Ino–Shika–Chō team can escape, rescues Rin from both Iwagakure and Kirigakure forces, and personally trains younger members of his clan. 23 25 76 100
Abilities & Skills
Future Loan System
Qingye’s central advantage is the Future Loan System, which lets him acquire potential he could possess in the future while placing restrictions on his chakra as repayment. 1 2
- Can borrow future-compatible ninjutsu or permanent talent enhancement; techniques outside his natural potential cannot be learned through the system. 2
- His one-time Talent Enhancement raised his Sharingan bloodline from the Three-Tomoe ceiling to Mangekyō level. 20 21
- The Mangekyō loan imposes a one-year chakra repayment period, though Qingye can postpone repayment and restore his usable chakra capacity at the cost of extending the debt. 21
- Later unlocks Permanent Loan and Temporary Loan functions, allowing him to issue loans to others; he eventually lends power to Hōzuki Akizuki. 33 76
Sharingan
Qingye’s Sharingan gives him enhanced perception, combat prediction, genjutsu aptitude, and the ability to copy techniques.
- Perceives and counters chakra-based concealment techniques, including Tsuchikawa’s Camouflage and Invisibility Technique. 7
- Copied Kakashi’s Chidori after watching it performed once. 20
- Uses the Sharingan’s dynamic vision to support swordsmanship, shurikenjutsu, and high-speed close combat. 5 83
- Can assess a target’s general chakra flow, but lacks the Byakugan’s precise view of chakra points and meridians. 69
Mangekyō Sharingan
Qingye’s Mangekyō manifests as a scarlet, five-pointed star pattern and grants a major increase in chakra, genjutsu, speed, and ninjutsu capability. 21
- Its activation causes pain and consumes chakra heavily. 21 29
- The power’s known risk of eventual blindness makes it a politically sensitive forbidden ability even within the Uchiha Clan. 69 82
Susanoo
Qingye’s left-eye Mangekyō technique is a Susanoo-based amplification ability.
- Doubles his physical strength, ninjutsu power, and the durability of his Susanoo at its base level. 21
- Can increase the amplification further by doubling chakra expenditure. 21
- Used to reinforce Qingye while he held off Iwagakure reinforcements at Kannabi Bridge. 29
- Was later displayed during his battle with the Third Mizukage. 80
Kotoamatsukami
Qingye’s right-eye Mangekyō technique lets him observe possible futures within the next five minutes and choose actions that lead toward a desired outcome. 21
- Used for prediction, infiltration, and avoiding detection. 21 60
- Lets Qingye inspect and mark individuals through his ocular technique for the Future Loan System’s data functions. 88
- Its foresight is limited to approximately five minutes ahead. 21
Fire and Lightning Style
Qingye possesses Fire and Lightning chakra natures and combines them with swordsmanship, clone tactics, and large-scale battlefield control. 1 7
- Uchiha Style: Sword Leap Flame — channels Fire Style chakra through his tachi to launch flaming sword slashes. 7
- Uchiha Style: Lightning Fire Sword — uses Lightning and Fire Style in Uchiha sword combat to break through Earth Style defenses. 7
- Great Fire Destruction — produces a wide sea of flames capable of forcing large enemy formations into defense or retreat. 29 76
- Lightning Blade: Fang / Falling Lightning — creates and exploits cumulonimbus clouds to strike enemies across a wide area with lightning. 30
- Chidori — copied from Kakashi and used to defeat Kitsuchi after escaping Earth Style confinement. 20 31
Taijutsu and Swordsmanship
Qingye prioritizes speed, taijutsu, and tachi combat. His speed was his highest early stat, and he considers rapid movement especially decisive for shinobi combat. 2
- Uses a tachi as his primary close-range weapon. 7
- Routinely trains with leg weights and removes them only when taking an opponent seriously. 83
- Defeated Mei Terumī with a single punch, demonstrating that his close-quarters ability is not limited to swordsmanship. 47
- Can form hand seals one-handed, though he initially describes the technique as unskilled. 5
Genjutsu and Interrogation
Qingye’s genjutsu aptitude rises sharply after awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan. 21
- Uses genjutsu to interrogate captured enemies, including Mei Terumī. 50
- Understands the value of conserving chakra and has delegated interrogation to Kurenai when under chakra-loan restrictions. 9
Equipment
- Tachi — Qingye’s primary sword, used to channel Fire Style and Lightning Style techniques. 7
- Explosive Tags — used for ambushes, defensive barriers, mountain collapses, and large-scale battlefield traps. 7 12 29
- Ninja Cat Nine Lives — a summoned ninja cat used to transport valuables and retrieve items such as ninjutsu scrolls. 17 21
- Ninja Crow — an Uchiha contract summon used for auxiliary duties and information transfer. 10 39
- Leg Weights — worn during training and removed when Qingye chooses to fight seriously. 83
Relationships
- Hyūga Himon — Teammate whose Byakugan supports Qingye’s ambushes, reconnaissance, and battlefield decisions. 7 14 28
- Yūhi Kurenai — Teammate and genjutsu specialist. Qingye entrusts her with prisoner interrogation and coordinates closely with her during retreats and missions. 9 15 24
- Kakashi Hatake — Peer, rival, and later battlefield partner. Qingye copies Kakashi’s Chidori, surpasses him during Kannabi Bridge, and continues working with him in the Land of Sea. 20 31 60
- Minato Namikaze — Ally and respected senior. Minato recognizes Qingye’s strength, includes his team in the Kannabi Bridge mission, and later returns to Konoha alongside him. 20 32 81
- Nohara Rin — Ally whom Qingye rescues from Iwagakure captivity and later from the Three-Tails incident. 25 76
- Uchiha Madara — Enemy and former manipulator. Madara attempts to force Qingye’s Mangekyō awakening, monitors his growth, and later seeks to recruit or exploit him for the Moon Eye Plan. 16 28 30
- Uchiha Obito — Rival and future threat. Madara favors Obito as a more manipulable Moon Eye Plan candidate, while Qingye becomes wary after Obito awakens double Mangekyō Sharingan and Kamui. 17 33
- Uchiha Shisui — Younger clansman trained by Qingye; Shisui reaches Three-Tomoe Sharingan during their special training. 92 100
- Uchiha Fugaku — Uchiha clan head. Fugaku praises Qingye’s growth and tells Itachi to learn from him, while Qingye becomes increasingly influential in clan affairs. 37 81
- Shimura Danzō — Political enemy who considers Qingye’s strength and Mangekyō Sharingan a threat to Konoha’s leadership. 36 80
