Background / History

Nuwa discovered Qing Xuan while he was still the Innate Gourd Vine in a canyon on Buzhou Mountain. Recognizing him as a sentient top-grade Innate Spiritual Root, she uprooted him with his Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and brought him to Phoenix Perch Mountain, her and Fu Xi’s dojo. She planted him in the garden and nourished him with Three Lights Divine Water. 1 2

Qing Xuan initially concealed her identity from himself, only realizing that the maiden who had taken him in was the Nuwa he feared would one day use his vine body for great merit. Once she learned of this perceived fate, Nuwa resolved to protect him rather than claim his destined merit. She later spent two hundred years obtaining additional Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water, fighting Houtu to a draw to secure them. 3 4

With Qing Xuan’s assistance, Nuwa advanced in cultivation and helped him condense an Outer Incarnation. The two subsequently traveled through Buzhou Mountain, explored spatial rifts, sought opportunities across the Primordial World, and established their respective overseas dojos. After observing the strengths and flaws of the Primordial Ten Thousand Races, Nuwa became determined to create a new race combining their advantages.
