Don't Break Them
Huo Yuhao's expression remained unchanged, but he had already become wary.
When he scanned the valley with his Divine Power just now, he also sensed an unusual aura.
"Hehe, finally some new people have arrived!"
A sudden voice came from ahead, breaking everyone's thoughts.
This voice was completely different from the Po Mie, hoarse, and low one; it carried a hint of undisguised excitement and mockery.
Huo Yuhao turned his head and saw that an old figure had appeared beside Po Mie at some point.
This person was dressed in black, but was much more robust than Po Mie, and looked younger than Po Mie.
He looked at Huo Yuhao and the others, grinned, and said, "You can call me Nightmare Old Demon. Before the military training officially begins, let's all introduce ourselves."
"So that I can tailor a plan to your specific circumstances."
The group exchanged glances, Na'er was the first to step forward.
Her long silver hair fluttered gently in the valley breeze as she spoke, "Na'er, fourteen years old, Five-Ring Soul King, One-Word Battle Armor Master."
With Na'er taking the lead, the others followed suit.
"Tang Wulin, fourteen years old, Four-Ring Soul Ancestor, One-Word Battle Armor Master."
"Xie Xie, fourteen years old, Four-Ring Soul Ancestor."
"Xu Xiaoyan, fourteen years old, Four-Ring Soul Ancestor."
"Gu Yue, fourteen years old, Five-Ring Soul King, One-Word Battle Armor Master."
Both Po Mie and Nightmare showed surprise on their faces as they listened to the series of self-introductions.
Na'er and Gu Yue, these two young girls, have reached the Five-Ring Soul King at only fourteen years old. Such talent is quite rare among all the students in the Shrek Academy's history.
Although Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Xu Xiaoyan are only Soul Ancestor, their fourteen-year-old fourth-ring status is still outstanding.
However, the two exchanged a glance, and a subtle look flashed in their eyes.
Four-Ring Soul Ancestor coming to Devil Island for military training? That's a bit too young.
Although the rule on Devil Island is to train to the death, these two Old Demon were surprisingly reluctant to "kill" these exceptionally talented youngsters.
Just as the two were pondering their next move, Huo Yuhao finally spoke up.
"Huo Yuhao, fourteen years old, Seven-Ring Soul Saint, Two-Word Battle Armor Master."
Upon hearing this, both Po Mie and Nightmare turned their gazes to Huo Yuhao, their aged eyes filled with disbelief.
The old man's cloudy eyes widened in Po Mie, and his hand gripping his cane trembled slightly.
Nightmare simply stood there with its mouth agape, unable to close it for a long time.
They've been stationed on Devil Island for over a thousand years, and have seen countless geniuses from the Shrek Academy.
Which one of them isn't an outstanding individual among their peers?
Which one of them wouldn't be a prodigy attracting worldwide attention?
Yet, none of these geniuses were able to cultivate to the level of Seven-Ring Soul Saint by the age of fourteen.
This was completely beyond their comprehension, even beyond the limits of what they dared to imagine.
No!
It's not just Shrek Academy!
Even if we look at the tens of thousands of years of history of the Douluo Continent, there are countless recorded geniuses and prodigies, but none of them can compare to Huo Yuhao.
This is beyond genius; it's simply monstrous.
When the two looked at Huo Yuhao again, it was as if they were looking at a rare treasure.
The two of them now completely understood why Yun Ming had personally escorted these little ones to Devil Island.
The two exchanged a glance, both seeing the same shock in each other's eyes, and then began to communicate telepathically.
"Po Mie, you're not having the heart to do it, are you? I'm warning you, the rules of Devil Island cannot be broken."
Nightmare spoke first, her tone tinged with a hint of probing.
"I didn't," Po Mie replied telepathically, his chin slightly raised. "Nightmare, I think it's because you couldn't bear to see such a genius suffer, isn't it? Don't try to pin the blame on me."
"Who said that?" Nightmare retorted immediately. "It's precisely because he's a genius that he needs to be trained so rigorously! Wouldn't it be a waste of his talent if we didn't polish this rough gem into something extraordinary?"
"You said it yourself." A barely perceptible smile crept into his Po Mie tone. "You can't hold back after that."
"If we don't want to stay, then we don't want to stay!"
The two Old Demon were secretly bickering, but after the telepathic communication ended, Nightmare looked at everyone again.
He cleared his throat and announced, "Alright, you've just arrived today, so take a rest for the day. Military training will officially begin tomorrow."
After saying this, Po Mie and Nightmare simultaneously avoided each other's gaze.
They said they wouldn't hold back, but their actions betrayed their true intentions.
Giving new trainees a day off is a treatment that is unprecedented in the history of Devil Island.
In the past, new recruits would arrive on the island in the morning and be subjected to rigorous training until they were crying and screaming by the afternoon.
There's no such thing as resting; Devil Island has never been a place for people to rest.
After the figures of Po Mie and Nightmare disappeared, the valley returned to tranquility.
Everyone turned their gaze to Huo Yuhao, waiting for him to make a decision.
Huo Yuhao looked around and said, "Everyone, eat something first, then rest and get yourself into top condition."
"Military training officially starts tomorrow, and it probably won't be easy."
His words made everyone realize they were indeed a little hungry.
Since they set off this morning, apart from having some snacks on the train, they haven't had a proper meal yet.
Xie Xie was the first to respond, quickly taking out a large tablecloth from his Space Soul Tool and spreading it on the grass.
The others also set to work, taking out the food they were carrying from their Soul Tool.
Before long, the tablecloth was filled with a sumptuous meal.
Several teenagers sat together, eating and chatting, occasionally letting out low chuckles. Their relaxed and carefree demeanor contrasted sharply with the oppressive, dark world outside the valley.
Although Po Mie and Nightmare had already left, the two of them could still see Huo Yuhao and the others' every move clearly.
Po Mie couldn't help but click his tongue. "These kids are really carefree. To be able to have such a leisurely picnic on Devil Island, they've never done it before."
Nightmare stood beside him, arms crossed, a malicious smile slowly creeping onto her lips, "Should we make our move now? While these kids are off guard, let's launch a surprise attack and let them experience the wickedness of the human heart ahead of time?"
Upon hearing this, Po Mie thought about it seriously for a moment, and finally shook his head. "Forget it, it won't make a difference if we do it a little longer. We can clean it up tomorrow."
Nightmare glanced at him sideways and sneered, "I think you still can't bring yourself to do it."
Without batting an eye, Po Mie replied, "I just feel that training on an empty stomach isn't as enjoyable."
Although this valley in the center of Devil Island is isolated from the outside world, it is not without day and night.
Even at night, the entire world was still shrouded in the eerie light emanating from that purplish-black pillar of light, with only a layer of dim and oppressive purplish-black light evenly covering every corner of the valley.
In preparation for the upcoming military training the next day, after dark, everyone found a flat patch of grass, laid out simple sleeping mats, and closed their eyes peacefully.
Before long, even and gentle breathing could be heard in the valley.
After an unknown amount of time, just as everyone was immersed in their dreams, a yellow mist quietly spread out from somewhere.
The mist spread silently along the ground, quickly enveloping the six boys lying on the grass like a tide.
While the others seemed oblivious, Huo Yuhao's eyelids twitched slightly the instant the yellow mist touched his body, but he did not open his eyes.
He knew that Yun Ming had described Devil Island as so terrifying before, and this military training would definitely not allow them to sleep peacefully until dawn.
Huo Yuhao maintained his even breathing and lay motionless on the sleeping mat.
He wanted to see what would happen next.
In the distance, the figures of Po Mie and Nightmare silently appeared.
"It's past midnight now, it's already the next day."
Nightmare chuckled and said, "I told them to take a day off, and I haven't gone back on my word."
Po Mie Po Mie his eyes at him and snorted heavily through his nose, "Have some sense of proportion. These kids are all promising talents; don't ruin them right away."
Nightmare waved her hand dismissively and laughed, "Don't worry, don't worry, I know what I'm doing. I'll make sure you get your kicks later."
