Yu Xiaogang was born to Yu Yuanzhen, patriarch of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, with only 0.5 Innate Soul Power. Clan resources nevertheless enabled him to reach Level 20, breeding resentment among relatives who saw him as consuming resources without comparable results. 181 192

Unable to progress as a cultivator, he sought recognition through theory. Conflict with Taichu

Yu Xiaogang interrupts Taichu’s martial soul awakening, disparages Taichu’s eye martial soul, and offers to accept him as a disciple. After Taichu refuses, Su Yuntao beats Yu Xiaogang, who flees while promising to cultivate a superior disciple. 1

He later finds that disciple in Tang San. During Tang San’s confrontations with Taichu, Taichu’s Genjutsu causes Tang San to mistake Yu Xiaogang for his opponent twice, resulting in Yu Xiaogang’s genital injuries and surgeries. 5 24 25

Shrek Academy and the Pursuit of Fame

At Shrek Academy, Yu Xiaogang recruits Dai Mubai and the other students with promises that his instruction can make them Title Douluo. His larger objective is to lead a team to victory in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament and secure continent-wide recognition for the “Grandmaster” name. 127

When confronted by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, he invokes his background to protect Shrek Academy, but Elder Luo dismisses his personal influence and attacks him. 132

Attempt to Claim the High-Aged Soul Ring Method

After witnessing Ning Rongrong’s Ten Thousand Year Fourth Soul Ring, Yu Xiaogang concludes that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect possesses a method for absorbing stronger soul rings. He intends to acquire, alter, and publish the method as his own work. 134

He persuades Tang Hao that obtaining the method would benefit Tang San’s future, helping trigger Tang Hao’s confrontation with Elder Luo. 135

Poisoning and Amputation

During Tang Hao’s battle with Dugu Bo and Yang Wudi, Yu Xiaogang is caught by Dugu Bo’s poison while attempting to flee. Flender carries him from the battlefield, but Tang San determines that amputating Yu Xiaogang’s leg is the only way to prevent the toxin from killing him. 137 138

Liu Erlong Incident

After arriving at Blue Tyrant Academy, Yu Xiaogang blames and embellishes Taichu’s role in his condition to Liu Erlong. Her resulting attack on Samsara Academy ends with Taichu inflicting severe mental trauma on her through Tsukuyomi. 170 174 180

Yu Luomian learns that Yu Xiaogang provoked the incident and punishes him with a prolonged beating, blaming him for endangering Liu Erlong and damaging the clan’s standing. 181 182
