Departure

After learning from Vegeta that he really had seen Beerus when he was young, Turles finally felt at ease. Broly had already given him enough clues to be fairly sure he was in the main Dragon Ball universe, but Turles was a somewhat controversial character, so he'd always worried that he might be in a parallel universe. If that were true, his familiarity with the plot would be far less useful!

Now that he'd confirmed his greatest advantage as a transmigrator was still intact, Turles was in high spirits. He didn't make things too difficult for Vegeta. After stopping Paragus, who still wasn't willing to let the matter go, Turles had Kalo take Vegeta away for treatment.

He wondered whether Son Goku could still grow up as he had in the original story after Turles had stirred things up so much. At the very least, Raditz wouldn't be involved in the Saiyan invasion of Earth. Without Raditz, would Son Goku still die and run Snake Way to train on King Kai's Planet?

Things were getting more and more interesting!

After dealing with Vegeta, Turles began preparing to leave. With all the trouble Vegeta had caused, Frieza might hear about it. It would be bad if that brought Frieza here!

He called for Kalo. When Kalo reported that Vegeta had been settled in, Turles took no particular interest. Instead, he told him to prepare a spaceship and supplies. Most importantly, Turles planned to take Carl, the Kabru scientist, with him. Researchers like these didn't hold a very high position in the Frieza Force, so taking one wouldn't attract Frieza's attention.

After sending Kalo to make preparations, Turles called for Carl and got straight to the point, telling him what he had in mind.

When Carl heard that Turles wanted to take him along, he showed no displeasure. This was how races who had lost their home planets survived in the universe: without strength, they relied on those who had it. The important thing wasn't avoiding someone's attention; it was making sure you still had value.

Since Turles seemed to have a decent temperament, Carl offered to bring along several of his fellow Kabru, who also had a talent for science.

Turles naturally had no reason to refuse such a good offer. He sent Carl to gather his fellow Kabru, and at last had some time to himself.

With some free time at last, Turles chose not to train for once. Instead, he took Broly to explore the city on the planet, where they got to see some unusual sights!

Two days later, Turles boarded a large spaceship and left Planet B1000, heading for the next waystation.

As for Vegeta waking up and searching everywhere for him to demand a challenge, Turles had already left and knew nothing about it!

Turles met several of Carl's fellow Kabru. They had the same purple skin, and without their different auras, it would have been impossible to tell them apart. Turles didn't mind, though. He'd called them in mainly to remove any listening devices that might be hidden in the spaceship or in the Scouters worn by Paragus and Raditz. Now that he'd decided to break away from Frieza's forces, it was better to deal with these potential problems as soon as possible.

When Carl and his fellow Kabru heard what Turles wanted, they exchanged glances. It seemed they'd suddenly realized something, and their expressions grew uneasy. Turles simply watched them in silence.

After a long pause, Carl finally trembled as he agreed to Turles's request.

Seeing that Carl was so cooperative, Turles made a promise in return. Once they had settled down, he would set aside an area on the Saiyan planet for the Kabru to live in, so their race could survive.

Turles's promise clearly gave Carl and his fellow Kabru renewed motivation. They quickly got to work.

Managing subordinates through force alone was clearly less effective than giving them something to hope for. Turles had learned that all too well in his previous life.

But Turles wasn't just making empty promises. It was still unclear whether the surviving Saiyans in all of Universe 7 numbered more than a hundred. Even if they found a new Saiyan planet in the future, locating the Saiyans who had survived across the universe wouldn't be easy. The four of them alone couldn't do it; they would definitely need help from others. Carl, as a scientist, could be a great help.

Besides, if a few Saiyans were spread across an entire planet, it would be truly vast and sparsely populated. Setting aside part of the planet for these technologically advanced races would not only solve logistical problems but also bring the planet to life.

Planet Vegeta had actually been much the same. The Saiyans were famous across the universe as a warrior race, but their population wasn't large. Before Planet Vegeta was destroyed, fewer than a hundred thousand Saiyans lived on it. Even including the Low-Class Warriors who had been exiled, the total was still under two hundred thousand. That might not seem like a small number, but in the universe, it was enough to make them an endangered race.

If they eventually had a new Saiyan planet but did nothing to increase their population, the Saiyans would still go extinct sooner or later. Turles supported Paragus in rebuilding the Saiyan race because it could help him train, so bringing in other races was essential.

But those were matters for the future. Right now, Turles had more important things to consider.

He took out the star map and began marking it.

First was Planet Namek!

As the most important tool in the Dragon Ball World, the Dragon Balls were impossible to ignore. That went for the Dragon Balls on Earth, the ones on Planet Namek, and even the Super Dragon Balls.

Because of the route, he couldn't reach the Dragon Balls on Earth just yet. The Super Dragon Balls were scattered across Universe 6 and Universe 7, and Turles had no way to travel between the two universes. That left the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek as the only ones he could count on for now. He'd already thought of several wishes he wanted to make!

Next was Yardrat!

Yardrat was another unusual planet in the universe. It had many strange techniques, and its people didn't keep them jealously guarded. In the original story, Son Goku had accidentally ended up on Yardrat and learned Instant Transmission there. The importance of Instant Transmission went without saying, so Yardrat was definitely a place Turles planned to visit.

There was another unexpected planet marked on the star map: Metamor!

This was a planet mentioned only by Son Goku in Dragon Ball. He brought it up while explaining the Fusion Technique, saying that he'd learned it from a Metamoran in Other World.

Vegito, Gogeta, and Gotenks had all multiplied their fighting strength through fusion. Son Goten and Trunks, who could only transform into Super Saiyans, had gone straight to Super Saiyan 3 after fusing. And Gogeta and Vegito, the warriors formed by the fusion of Son Goku and Vegeta, were even more powerful. In their ordinary forms, they'd easily beaten Majin Buu, and they were stronger than Ultimate Gohan, who had unleashed his hidden power. Later, they were even able to fight Super Broly, who could defeat Golden Frieza.

Turles knew the dance for the Fusion Technique, though. With enough practice, he could reproduce it, so this planet wasn't a priority in his plans. Still, it would be nice to visit if he got the chance!

The last destination was the end point of this journey: the Galactic Patrol Headquarters at the center of the galaxy!

The Galactic Patrol didn't appear often in the original story, and the fighting strength they displayed wasn't especially impressive. But Turles knew that the Galactic Patrol might have a hidden powerhouse—Apprentice Angel Merus!

Angels were a special race in the Dragon Ball Universe. From the attendants who trained each universe's God of Destruction to the mysterious Grand Priest, they were all members of the Angel race.

Leaving the Grand Priest's strength aside, Whis, the Angel of Universe 7, had knocked out God of Destruction Beerus—the publicly acknowledged strongest being in Universe 7—with a single chop. That alone showed how powerful he was. What's more, Son Goku later mastered Ultra Instinct under Whis's guidance!

As Whis's younger brother, Merus was an Apprentice Angel who might currently be working as a patrolman at the Galactic Patrol Headquarters to complete his Angel training.

As an Angel—and Whis's younger brother—Merus's strength was bound to be impressive. If Turles could get his guidance, he'd have little to worry about.

What Turles really wanted was Whis's guidance, since that was the easiest method in Dragon Ball: all he'd need was a good meal to win Whis over. This mild-mannered Angel was always willing to teach someone who appealed to his stomach!

But Whis was currently staying in the Destroyer Realm, watching over the sleeping Beerus. Turles couldn't reach him just yet. The Destroyer Realm wasn't somewhere you could simply go whenever you wanted!

Turles did have another option: the Spirit Fruit. All he had to do was find a life-bearing planet, plant a seed, and eat the Spirit Fruit. How simple!

But unless he had no other choice, Turles didn't want to plant a Tree of Might on a whim. It wasn't just a matter of conscience; the existence of Other World in Dragon Ball also made him wary.

In the Dragon Ball World, death didn't wipe away one's sins. After someone died, their good deeds determined whether they went to heaven or hell. This was actually the Buddhist idea from his previous life, reflected in this world.

No matter how powerful someone had been in life, if they hadn't surpassed the limits of mortals, death meant they could no longer use their strength. But if they had the merit of saving the world, they could keep their bodies in Other World and live, train, and fight just as they had among the living.

With this in mind, Turles wanted to save planets. Why would he risk going to hell just to destroy one? The King had been sent to heaven instead of being punished in hell, all because his sins were too great. Now he had to listen to little Angels playing music all day!

So unless he found a safe place to plant a Tree of Might, Turles wouldn't risk it. Of course, if things became desperate, he'd have no choice. Being alive was still better!

So even a transmigrator wasn't all-powerful. Without a system that let him defy heaven and earth, even the greatest natural talent meant climbing the ranks one step at a time.

What was a transmigrator's greatest advantage, anyway? It was knowing more about the plot than the characters did.

As long as he made good use of that advantage, rising to power wouldn't be a problem!

Turles rarely had time to sort out his plans for the future, and he nodded in satisfaction as the path ahead became clear.

He stretched, stood up from his seat, and walked to the spaceship window. Watching the stars streak past outside, Turles felt confident about his future!

But confidence alone wasn't enough. Turles immediately got back to training.

Since the Gravity Chamber hadn't been built yet and the spaceship wasn't a suitable place to spar with Broly and the others, Turles settled for simple exercises such as push-ups to warm up. Mostly, he focused on meditation.
