"Boom!"

With a deafening crash, Turles was slammed into the ground, blasting out a huge crater. But he immediately unleashed his energy again and shot upward like a cannonball. The force of his ascent widened the crater below.

Moving faster than the speed of sound, he was impossible to track with the naked eye. In an instant, Turles appeared in front of Broly, his fists raining down in an endless barrage. But his punches, powerful enough to split mountains and shatter stone, had no effect on Broly. Even when he struck the same spot repeatedly, he couldn't make Broly take so much as a single step back!

Broly seemed to have grown impatient with Turles's pestering. A flicker of annoyance crossed his impassive face. He swung out his left hand and caught both of Turles's fists, then drove his right fist into Turles's abdomen with crushing force!

"Pfft!" Blood sprayed from Turles's mouth. The blow left him badly injured, his body instantly going limp as his energy began to ebb!

Broly released him, letting Turles's body fall under the force of gravity.

As Turles slowly descended, the entire world began to shatter like glass. Before long, everything was swallowed by darkness!

The world quickly reassembled. The sky and the ground vanished, replaced by a vast white space. Turles lay exhausted at its center, chest heaving as he gasped for breath!

"Another failure!" Turles's frustrated voice echoed through the space.

"Again!"

After venting his frustration, he made the world shift once more and threw himself into the next battle!

Spaceship training room!

Turles's tightly shut eyes snapped open. Sweat covered his forehead, and he immediately fell backward, collapsing onto the floor.

That was right! He had been conducting sparring simulations in his mind.

This was a technique Son Goku had used in the original story. During the Cell Saga, while in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Son Goku used seated meditation to focus on controlling his emotions and simulating battle scenarios. Through this method, he achieved the equivalent of a year of hard training with just a short period of meditation.

What Turles had borrowed from this technique was the simulation of battle scenarios.

Since his spaceship didn't have a Gravity Chamber like the one Dr. Brief had installed for Son Goku, Turles had to come up with other ways to train himself. Mental simulation training was the best method he could think of for the time being.

Perhaps because his two lives had merged, Turles's mind was unusually active. By relying on a few scattered memories and his own experimentation, he had learned to conduct simulations in his mind in less than two days.

The opponents he chose weren't just Broly. Vegeta, Paragus, and even figures from his memories like Son Goku and Son Gohan all appeared in his simulations.

But since he had never personally sensed the energy of Son Goku and the others, those simulations weren't very effective. So Turles mainly fought Broly and Vegeta, and every battle with Broly ended the same way: he was taken out in a single move!

Broly was simply too strong. His power far surpassed Turles's, and his battle instincts were vastly superior as well. In Turles's simulations, whenever Broly entered his impassive state, his combat instincts rose without limit. No matter how Turles attacked, Broly always managed to read his movements, and the outcome never changed!

Although mental battle simulations couldn't fully replace real combat, their data was based on everything Turles knew. In other words, if he fought Broly now, the result would always be defeat.

But mental simulations did have a drawback: they consumed a tremendous amount of mental energy. Given Turles's current condition, he could manage at most one hour of simulations per day, and he couldn't do it all at once. After every fifteen-minute session, he had to spend an hour recovering his mental strength. Otherwise, he would seriously damage his mind. That meant he currently had only five hours of training time a day.

Still, the simulated battles were useful to Turles. Once his body could keep up, he would quickly absorb the combat experience from his mental battles, saving himself a great deal of time!

This was just right for Turles, who was currently traveling through space. He could test all kinds of moves in his mind, and every simulated battle gave him a chance to discover his own weaknesses. That was why he immersed himself in the simulations so enthusiastically, easing the tedium of space travel.

Unlike Paragus and Raditz, Paragus had been in the mood to drag Raditz into training during the first week. But now, a month later, he had gone into deep hibernation just like Raditz. That was normal on long space voyages: the destination was set in advance, and the ship's systems handled everything else.

After finishing that day's training, Turles splashed some water on his face and left the training room.

As soon as he stepped outside, he ran into Broly. His good mood vanished, and the corner of his eye began to twitch.

Broly was a freak. He could endure such a long, tedious journey without a problem.

Perhaps because of his experiences on Planet Vampa, Broly had a simple nature. So even after a month of space travel, he could still gaze at the sights outside the ship with eager interest all day long.

It wasn't that Turles was selfish and unwilling to teach Broly mental battle simulation. It was just that such precise mental control was far too difficult for him. The last time Turles had helped Broly enter a mental simulation, Broly had nearly lost control and torn the ship apart. Turles had never dared let him try again. Until Broly's tendency to lose control was dealt with, it was best for him to avoid any kind of combat training.

"Broly!" Turles called out as he approached Broly, who was staring intently out the window.

"Turles, are you done training?" Broly turned around. When he saw Turles, his face lit up. As his only friend, Turles meant a great deal to him.

"Yeah, I finished for today, so I came out early." Turles replied casually, then walked over to the window and looked at the monotonous view outside. "What, haven't you had enough yet?"

If Turles had just entered space, he might have been captivated by the dazzling sights. But once he'd seen them too often, they quickly became monotonous. The ship was moving so fast that his eyes couldn't keep up, and staring for too long made him feel sick.

"It's all right. It's pretty. I never saw anything like this on Planet Vampa!" Broly scratched his head, looking a little embarrassed.

Hearing Broly's answer, Turles fell silent. He wasn't sure whether taking Broly away from Planet Vampa had really been the right choice.

Paragus was in hibernation, while Turles devoted himself to training. With no one to keep him company, Broly could only spend all day watching the view outside the ship. Turles wondered whether he might feel lonely.

"Broly, do you ever... Never mind!" Turles started to say, then swallowed the rest of his words.

Broly glanced at Turles in confusion. When Turles said nothing more, he didn't ask. For Broly, having a good friend by his side was already something to be happy about!

And so the two of them stood by the window, watching the scenery in space and chatting now and then about their experiences. Broly's life on Planet Vampa had been very simple, so Turles did most of the talking. He told Broly not only about battles from his memories but also about the wonderful things on Earth in his previous life. Broly was amazed, especially by all the delicious food on Earth, which he longed to try!

After some time, Carl arrived with a member of her people.

First, she reported that all the tracking and listening systems aboard the ship had been successfully removed. Then she gave an update on the Gravity Chamber's construction. According to Carl, they had fully studied all the information downloaded from Frieza Force Headquarters before leaving, and they would be ready to start building in two days.

The last piece of news was that, according to their schedule, the ship would reach the next transfer planet in two months. This lifted Turles's spirits.

After spending so long aboard the ship, Turles had almost forgotten what it felt like to stand on solid ground. At last, he had some good news!

"However, sir, our ship just received a distress signal. It came from a Galactic Patrol officer!" Carl hesitated, but reported it anyway.

Ever since Turles had ordered them to remove all the ship's tracking systems, Carl and the others had realized that these Saiyans intended to leave the Frieza Force. Their final destination—the Galactic Patrol Headquarters in the center of the galaxy—only confirmed their suspicions.

This made Carl and the others both fearful and hopeful.

Frieza's power was no idle threat, so fear was only natural. But Turles's promise had also given them hope. Rebuilding the Kabru Race had once been nothing but a dream for them. Now that it was within reach, they were determined to seize the opportunity. Carl wanted to help Turles establish himself in the center of the galaxy as soon as possible, and now there was an opportunity to do just that.

"The Galactic Patrol?" Turles asked, surprised.

"Yes. The man identified himself as Jaco, a Galactic Patrol officer. A group of Space Pirates had been after him. His spaceship was hit during the chase, and now he's stranded on Planet Kano." Seeing Turles's interest, Carl grew even more excited and hurriedly explained the whole situation.

Turles glanced at Carl, who seemed a little too excited, and brought up the star map. It didn't take long for him to locate Planet Kano. It wasn't far away, and it lay directly along their route.

"Can our ship make a temporary landing on Planet Kano?" Turles asked.

"Yes, sir!" Carl answered at once.

"Good! Then slow down in orbit around Planet Kano first. Don't rush into landing."

"Also, prepare to wake Paragus and Raditz!"

Turles had made his decision!
