The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda’s seven-ring limit prevented Ning Fengzhi from advancing beyond level 79, a restriction shared by the sect’s direct lineage and regarded as the sect’s greatest weakness. He sought a way to overcome it after investigating the Ye Clan’s sudden recovery: Ye Qingyu had survived the Nine-Heart Begonia curse, rare medicinal herbs had entered the market, and the mysterious Fate Defying Pavilion had emerged behind these changes. 192 193

Ning Fengzhi personally visited the Ye Clan with Chen Xin, requesting an audience with the individual who had lifted the curse. To demonstrate his sincerity, he left behind the Seven Treasure Token, which could mobilize the sect’s commercial resources and request aid from its experts. 194

At Fate Defying Pavilion, he reached an agreement with Luo Can for a liquid presented as Marrow Cleansing Spirit Liquid, later identified as Fate-Defying Lake Water.
