Twenty-five years before her reunion with Luo Can, Ye Qingyu helped him during a time of need. She persuaded Ye Shengxin to assist the then-young Luo Can with his first Spirit Ring hunt, and the Ye Clan subsequently supported his next six hunts at greatly reduced cost. When he later sought to repay that kindness, she accepted his medicinal-herb gift and agreed to let her daughter, Ye Lingling, become his apprentice. 4

Ye Qingyu suffered under the Ye Clan's Nine-Heart Begonia curse. After Ye Lingling awakened the Nine-Heart Begonia with Innate Full Soul Power, Qingyu's life force began draining rapidly. Luo Can first used Life-Reversing Spring Water to stabilize her for ten days, then treated her with refined medicinal liquid that greatly improved her health. 6 8

Luo Can ultimately broke the curse using the Aromatic Silk Beauty immortal herb and Life-Reversing Spring Water. The process restored Ye Qingyu's youth and strength, while ensuring that Ye Lingling's Martial Soul would no longer endanger her. 13
