Twenty-five years before her reunion with Luo Can, Ye Qingyu helped him during a time of need. When he later sought to repay that kindness, she accepted his medicinal-herb gift and agreed to let her daughter, Ye Lingling, become his apprentice. 4

Ye Qingyu suffered under the Ye Clan's Nine-Heart Begonia curse. After Ye Lingling awakened the Nine-Heart Begonia with Innate Full Soul Power, Qingyu's life force began draining rapidly. Luo Can first used Life-Reversing Spring Water to stabilize her for ten days, then treated her with refined medicinal liquid that greatly improved her health. 6 8

The curse had also claimed her mother in the year Qingyu awakened her own Martial Soul. Before Luo Can found a lasting treatment, a Thousand-Year Ginseng he had previously given her helped prolong her life. The medicinal liquid Luo Can prepared combined a Bone-Growing Soul-Melting Pill, Millennium Marrow Cleansing Grasses, auxiliary herbs, and Fate-Defying Spring Water. Its diluted form protected her fragile meridians while repairing her damaged life essence, suppressing the curse and preventing further Soul Power leakage for at least half a year. 8
