Tang Ya originated from ten thousand years in the future, where she was destined to become the Tang Sect's leader. Her profile describes a future in which the Tang Sect's foundation was seized when she was ten, her loved ones were murdered, and her fixation on restoring the sect eventually led her Blue Silver Grass to mutate into Dark Blue Silver Grass and made her an Evil Spirit Master. 62

At age six, shortly after awakening Blue Silver Grass and level 5 Innate Soul Power, she was fished from the future by Luo Can and brought to Fate Defying Valley. Initially frightened by her displacement, she remained proud of the Tang Sect and idolized Tang San as its heroic Sea God ancestor. 62 63
