Background

Luo Can is a transmigrator who retained incomplete knowledge of the Douluo Continent and its future events. 1

Luo Can awakened the White Silkworm Martial Soul at age six with only 0.5 innate soul power and was deemed incapable of even reaching level ten. At age ten, he fell from Jueming Cliff, survived, and encountered the opportunity that allowed him to defy that judgment. He obtained his first spirit ring at twelve and reached the Title Douluo realm by age thirty-eight. 34

His path centered on absorbing dragon-type soul beasts, transforming his initially dismissed martial soul into the Golden Dragon Moth. After killing and absorbing the Golden Earth Dragon, he became a level 91 Title Douluo and returned to his home village to visit his parents' graves before consolidating his realm at the Fate-Defying Spring. 1

Ye Qingyu and the Ye Clan were essential to his early growth. After Ye Qingyu personally appealed to her father on his behalf, the clan helped Luo Can hunt his first Iron-Armored Earth Dragon spirit ring and later assisted with six further spirit-ring hunts at reduced cost. 4

He later founded the Fate Defying Pavilion in Baican Village, declaring its purpose to be changing one’s fate through personal effort. His early recruits included children with weak or nonexistent innate soul power, whom he trained with cultivation methods, medicinal resources, and promised marrow-cleansing treatment. 24 34 68

Following a later upgrade, Fate Defying Valley became a small world centered on Lake Heart Island. Luo Can and his partners began expanding its population through the recruitment of orphans and used cultivation access to the valley as a reward for outstanding Pavilion disciples. 215 233

After visiting the Shui Clan in Skywater City, Luo Can began incorporating water-attribute talents into the Pavilion’s cultivation and medicine programs. Shui Bing’er became one of his disciples after passing the Illusion Tower trial, while Shui Yue’er studied water-element medicinal herbs under Yang Wudi. 329 336 343

Personality

Luo Can is persistent and strongly opposed to accepting predetermined limits. His own experience as the owner of a “trash” martial soul shapes both his personal ambitions and his willingness to invest in overlooked disciples. 1 24

As a leader, he combines generosity with deliberate institution-building. He provides resources, education, and advancement opportunities, but explicitly uses those benefits to create a loyal foundation for the Fate Defying Pavilion. 24 68

He is also patient and strategic toward major threats. Rather than immediately confronting Tang San and the force behind him, Luo Can chooses to restrict Tang San’s opportunities, delay his growth, and build enough strength to act later. 47

Despite his ruthless long-term planning, Luo Can maintains personal limits in dealing with children and potential enemies. He chose to guide Tang Ya rather than harm her while she was still a young child shaped by stories of Tang San. 63

Luo Can is notably relaxed about the Pavilion’s day-to-day administration, trusting capable subordinates to manage its affairs while he focuses on fishing, cultivation, research, and major strategic decisions. 178 303

He is highly pragmatic in managing resources. He views powerful spirit-beast materials, including the essence blood of captured beasts, as strategic assets for artificial spirit-ring production and the advancement of the Pavilion’s members. 297 343

Abilities & Skills

Golden Dragon Emperor Martial Soul

Luo Can’s martial soul evolved from White Silkworm to Golden Dragon Moth through dragon-beast absorption, then further into the Golden Dragon Emperor. 1 190

  • Possesses powerful dragon might that can intimidate spirit beasts, including a hundred-year Ghost Tiger. 27
  • Grants Golden Dragon Wings for flight. 28
  • The Golden Dragon Moth originally possessed Ultimate Strength as its core attribute, supplemented by light and fire attributes. 105
  • The Inner Core of the Ancient Cinder Dragon elevated his fire attribute into Ultimate Fire, allowing him to wield domineering golden flames alongside his Ultimate Strength. 105
  • Enables the seventh spirit skill, Avatar of Martial Soul, allowing him to transform into a massive Golden Dragon Moth and combine with his battle armor in a half-dragon form. 138
  • Its final evolution gave him an entry-level comprehension of the Law of Power. 190
  • His ninth spirit skill, Golden: Ruin Dragon Soul, gives him the confidence to defeat Title Douluo opponents below level 95. 2

Fate-Defying Domain

Received upon reaching Authorization Level 3. 27

  • Initially serves as a major system-granted domain ability.
  • Later supports allies through spirit-power and vitality recovery, providing exceptional endurance. 190
  • Can enhance aptitude and evolve martial souls after its evolution. 190

Cinder Extinction Domain

An offensive domain gained when Luo Can’s martial soul absorbed the benefits of the Ancient Cinder Dragon’s inner core. 105

  • Converts the area covered by Luo Can’s mental power into a golden flame purgatory. 105
  • Amplifies the power of his spirit skills fivefold within its range. 105
  • Inflicts continuous Cinder Extinction Burning, which damages both the target’s body and soul. 105

Fishing System

Luo Can fishes at the Fate-Defying Spring/Lake to earn points, upgrade permissions, and obtain resources from other eras or worlds. 14 33

  • Has produced spirit bones, soul tools, medicinal pills, cultivation techniques, battle armor, and people from different time periods. 15 33 69 95
  • Can summon powerful future figures, including Title Douluo Cheng Gang. 95
  • The system can summon people and spirit beasts from different eras of the Douluo Continent to Luo Can’s time. 95 182
  • At Level 5, the system unlocked World Synchronization, allowing Luo Can to temporarily channel the Fate Defying Valley small world’s power at a level comparable to a Level 3 God. 215
  • The small-world upgrade created Fate Defying Valley as a new fishing spot. 215
  • By Chapter 376, Luo Can had accumulated sufficient points to expect another authorization upgrade within roughly six months and anticipated that it would grant a higher-grade Golden Dragon King bloodline. 376

Golden Blazing Sun Battle Armor

A light-, gold-, and fire-aligned Four-Word Battle Armor received at Authorization Level 3. 27

  • Initially only its head and torso sections were unlocked because Luo Can lacked sufficient spirit bones; it could still contend with a level 98 Super Douluo and provided Golden Divine Shield. 27
  • The armor’s shield manifests nine layers of golden defensive barriers. 137
  • Fully awakened after Luo Can fused the 100,000-year Golden Flame Dragon Left Arm Bone. 180
  • Solar Dragon Breath: Burning Heaven can be completely unleashed after awakening. 180
  • Golden Blazing Sun True Form transforms Luo Can into a ten-meter golden dragon-man, triples all attributes, and continually enhances his soul skills; its duration depends on mental-power expenditure. 180
  • Luo Can hopes to gather the remaining leg bones and use a complete dragon-type spirit-bone set as the foundation for a prototype of God Equipment. 180

Ring Detonation

A dangerous secret technique Luo Can learned from the Ring Detonation Manual. 97

  • Successfully detonated a ten-thousand-year spirit ring, gaining a large temporary increase in strength for roughly ten minutes. 97
  • Can detonate multiple rings simultaneously, but the backlash becomes severe as more rings are used. 101
  • Six-ring detonation caused massive destruction but left him seriously weakened. 101
  • Nine-ring simultaneous detonation severely injured him and required Fate-Defying Lake water to suppress the damage. 109

Yin-Yang Complementary Dual Soul Cores

A dual-core cultivation method obtained through Level 5 Permission. 179

  • Luo Can formed the dual cores after five days of seclusion. 186
  • Combines opposing attributes into fused soul power, greatly increasing the strength of self-created skills, spirit-bone skills, and spirit-ring skills. 186
  • Reduces soul-power consumption and shortens skill cooldowns. 186
  • Can manifest emerald life flames and extremely high-temperature white water. 186
  • The dual cores provided the foundation for his subsequent breakthrough to level 99. 186 189

Golden Dragon Pupils

An External Spirit Bone fused into Luo Can’s brow. 179

  • Gift of the Fate Dragon can bear or intercept fortune. 179
  • Can bless or curse a designated target with good or bad luck for seven days. 179
  • Supports Luo Can’s ability to “write fate,” though this can only be used roughly ten times a day due to its mental-power cost. 190
  • Luo Can used a blessing to upgrade Ling Yuan’s ninth spirit ring to 100,000 years. 247

Dragon Seal

Luo Can can plant a Dragon Seal in individuals with dragon-type martial souls. 115

  • Lets him perceive the thoughts of the marked target. 115
  • Allows him to influence the target over time and monitor them remotely. 115
  • Luo Can used the seal on Yu Xiaogang to observe his cultivation, ambitions, and relationship with Tang San. 130 227
  • He later severed his connection to Yu Xiaogang’s Dragon Seal while retaining plans for Yu Xiaogang’s future cultivation. 318

Five Saints Kill

A high-level offensive technique obtained through Authorization Level 5. 179

  • Connects Luo Can’s mental power to heaven and earth to condense the powers of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth into a five-element divine dragon. 179
  • Its destructive power scales with Luo Can’s mental power and serves as a potential trump card against god-level opponents. 179

Artificial Spirit-Ring Technology

Luo Can possesses artificial spirit-ring technology based on high-level spirit-beast essence blood and related crystal-core research. 297

  • Artificial rings do not contain a spirit beast’s remnant consciousness, eliminating the soul shock normally faced during absorption. 376
  • They still carry immense bloodline energy, making absorption physically dangerous and capable of transforming the recipient’s martial soul characteristics. 376
  • Luo Can used an Artificial 100,000-Year Spirit Ring made from Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear essence blood to help Yu Qiu reach level 93. 376
