Background / History

Ju Zi lost her family to war during childhood. Xu Tianran, the Sun Moon Empire’s crown prince, discovered and cultivated her talent. By nineteen, she was an academy student with exceptional potential in politics, military command, and Soul Tool research. Her ambitions combined revenge for her parents with continental unification, ending the warfare that had destroyed her family 47 48.

When Luo Can brings her into the past, she has not yet met Huo Yuhao or decided to marry Xu Tianran for political power. Luo Can describes the future she would otherwise experience: unfulfilled love for Huo Yuhao, conceiving his child through soul guidance technology, gaining political and military authority through Xu Tianran, and eventually taking control of the Sun Moon Empire. According to his account, Huo Yuhao would force her to abandon her final campaign against Star Luo, while Tang San would compel her to surrender conquered territory 48.

Later arrivals corroborate her historical identity without making it her present position. Ji Juechen remembers her as the feared Empress Dowager Regent and commander of the Sun Moon armies; Mu Chen knows her from history as the War God Empress who destroyed Heavenly Soul and Dou Ling and nearly unified the continent 146 339.

Her new life takes a different direction. She becomes the respected head of the Soul Tool Hall and eventually reflects that research and forging have replaced political anxiety, scheming, and dependence on Xu Tianran’s approval. Luo Can becomes both her principal supporter and the person she feels she can rely upon 373.

Appearance

Ju Zi appears as a beautiful young woman with black hair, bright eyes, glasses, and a curvaceous figure. Her first outfit is a fitted academy uniform whose style differs from those of Heaven Dou and Star Luo 47.

  • Glasses — Frequently adjusts them while speaking, thinking, or working 47 58 85.
  • Hair — Described as long and smooth at arrival, and shoulder-length in a later scene 47 58.
  • Other clothing — Wears a moon-white dress when she discovers Qian Renxue impersonating her 58.

Personality

Ju Zi is ambitious and resilient. The revelation that her original future ends in frustrated revenge and failed unification initially devastates her, but the possibility of starting again quickly restores her determination. She immediately accepts Luo Can’s offer of support in exchange for joining his faction 48.

Her strongest enthusiasm is reserved for Soul Tools, especially cannons and overwhelming firepower. Luo Can observes that her ordinarily intelligent, gentle demeanor becomes almost fanatical around artillery and Soul Tool arrays. During the Scarlet Queen hunt, she openly enjoys bombarding a powerful beast immobilized as a fixed target 55 72.

She combines technical pride with practical self-awareness. Although she works hard to improve her forging, she recognizes that it is not her greatest strength and assigns herself Battle Armor design, circuits, and core formations while leaving component production to Lou Gao and Xuan Ziwen. She also restrains herself from asking Luo Can for a hundred-thousand-year Spirit Bone, remembering how much he has already given her 58 352.

Her personal manner grows more assertive and mischievous. She confronts Luo Can over Qian Renxue’s use of her appearance, later teases him about his expanding relationships, and joins Qian Renxue in provoking Gui Mei into reconsidering his bond with Yue Guan. Her jealousy remains real, but she can also evaluate a proposed relationship pragmatically, as she does with the Snow Empress 59 352 406 416.

Abilities & Skills

Orange Martial Soul

  • Food System support — Her martial soul is an orange rather than an offensive weapon; Soul Tools supply much of her direct attack and defense capability 47 50.
  • Sixth Spirit Skill: Blood-Red Crystal Orange — Obtained from the forty-thousand-year Scarlet Queen. Luo Can judges its enhancement strength and sustained support superior to Oscar’s fourth skill in the original story 55 56.
  • Improved endurance — After gaining her sixth ring, she can sustain all-out use of her existing Soul Tools for roughly half an hour, compared with approximately ten minutes during the hunt 56.
  • Equipment-dependent consumption — Luo Can warns that higher-grade Level 6 and Level 7 tools would renew her endurance problems 56.

Soul Tool Engineering

  • Offensive and defensive versatility — Her Level 1–5 demonstration gives a Food System Spirit King attack and defense comparable to a Power Attack System Spirit Emperor 50.
  • Artillery deployment — Uses seven Level 5 and fifteen Level 4 tools to destroy the immobilized Scarlet Queen over ten minutes. Luo Can’s crowd control is essential to that setup 55.
  • Reverse engineering — Studies the Firefly Battle Armor’s energy-conversion arrays and combines them with Level 9 Fixed Soul Guidance Cannon principles to design a Level 5 Energy-Gathering Piercing Cannon 75.
  • Advanced research — Works on a Level 9 core formation and assigns composite-material research to Lou Gao; completion of her first Level 9 tool is still anticipated at that point 271.
  • Teaching — Instructs Ye Lingling and Dugu Yan in array engraving. Her theoretical notes also help Tang Ya explore combining Soul Tools with Hidden Weapons 59 172.
  • Technical limits — Explains that Soul Tool manufacture requires substantial talent and mental strength, not merely ordinary smithing skill 50.

Battle Armor and Mecha Design

  • Battle Armor specialization — Handles design plans, Soul Tool circuits, and core-formation engraving while Lou Gao and Xuan Ziwen produce components 347 352.
  • Mecha development — Helps turn an unsuccessful Battle Armor replication into a Soul Tool Mecha project with Lou Gao 110.
  • First-generation prototype — Presents a model usable by Soul Grandmasters and Soul Elders, powered by a High-Energy Soul Power Crystal and armed with two Level 4 Energy-Gathering Soul Cannons 154.
  • Potential research direction — Ji Juechen’s Judgment Sword inspires her to investigate deep fusion between a Soul Tool and its wielder’s martial soul 147.

Forging with A-Cui

  • Life-energy assistance — A-Cui helps stabilize and enhance the metal’s spiritual growth during forging 368.
  • Documented result — Achieves Second-Grade Thousand Forging with Blue Nurturing Copper 368.
  • Unfinished next stage — Shows promising progress toward First-Grade Thousand Forging, but has not fully succeeded 373.
  • Recognized limitation — Considers her Orange martial soul a disadvantage for forging and does not initially prioritize mastering Spirit Forging herself 352.

Cultivation Techniques

  • Mysterious Heaven Skill — Receives the complete manual from Luo Can to improve the quality and quantity of her soul power. He personally teaches her meridians, acupoints, and energy circulation 56 59.
  • Purple Demon Eye — Receives the complete version alongside the Mysterious Heaven Skill 56.
  • Rapid comprehension — Grasps many difficult meridian and acupoint concepts after a single explanation 59.
  • Soul Core — Forms one before reaching rank 90, substantially improving her reserves and recovery 149.

Strategy, Deception, and Intelligence

  • Recruitment deception — Deliberately leaves three incomplete points and a theoretical contradiction in a cannon design. She also presents her advanced knowledge to Lou Gao as the legacy of a deceased, reclusive teacher 75 81.
  • Intelligence coordination — Monitors Yue Guan and Xue Qinghe, handles communications, and relays reports to Luo Can and Qian Renxue 204 213 237.
  • Controlled disclosure — Uses technical explanations and purported Ancient Soul Tool concepts to reinforce Gui Mei’s belief in the Hall’s expertise 382.
  • Planned sabotage — Is assigned to make Soul Tools sold to the Clear Sky Sect fail at crucial moments; the supplied chapter establishes the plan rather than its completed execution 418.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Storage ring — Carries and rapidly deploys her Soul Tools 50.
  • Ninety-five-thousand-year Gemstone Torso Bone — Given by Luo Can; protects her meridians during sixth-ring absorption 55 58.
  • Hundred-Thousand-Year Hurricane Demon Wolf King Right Arm Bone — Luo Can gifts it to her after their relationship develops. Its documented skills are Nine Heavens Thunder Claw, with paralysis and armor penetration, and Azure Wind Burst Kill, an area attack with a slowing effect 57 60.
  • Firefly Battle Armor, also rendered Hotarubi — Studies its structure while traveling and uses its arrays as a basis for new designs 72 75.
  • Demonstration arsenal — Includes high-speed shoes, a grenade, Azure Flame Sword, Spirit Stealth Cloak, a six-barrel cannon, a soul-power milk bottle, decomposition cannon, and invincible shield 50.
  • Cultivation resources — Receives Life-Reversing Spring Water, Black-grade Soul Power Pills, Body Refining Pills, Ten-Thousand-Year Whale Rubber, and Hundred Ginseng Pills from Luo Can 49 51 368.
  • Blueprint collection and startup funds — Receives high-level designs, dozens of sample tools, and 50,000 Gold Soul Coins to establish research and development 50.

Relationships

  • Luo Can — Patron, cultivation instructor, faction leader, and husband. Their alliance becomes romantic when she confesses her feelings; she later calls herself his second wife 48 59 368.
  • Qian Renxue — Initial rival who becomes a close companion and fellow partner of Luo Can. Qian Renxue deliberately uses romantic manipulation to bind Ju Zi to the faction; Ju Zi later accepts her as the first wife and frequently joins her in teasing Luo Can 49 57 59 368 406.
  • A-Cui — Contracted Emerald Swan Soul Spirit. Assists her Soul Core formation and forging, and maintains an affectionate partnership with her 73 149 368.
  • Xu Tianran — Former sponsor and the source of political dependence she eventually leaves behind 47 373.
  • Lou Gao — Principal crafting collaborator. She helps recruit him, manages his group, and works with him on Mechas and Battle Armor 81 85 110 352.
  • Xuan Ziwen — Respected teacher and technical collaborator; works with her on Battle Armor and the Hall’s production plans 274 352 373.
  • Mu Chen — Forging instructor who teaches her how to employ A-Cui’s life energy in metalworking 340 343 368.
  • Ye Qingyu — Administrative ally who pledges full Executive Group support after witnessing her Soul Tool demonstration 50.
  • Ye Lingling and Dugu Yan — Soul Tool students inspired by her flight equipment and artillery capabilities 53 55 59.
  • Tang Ya — Initially unsettles Ju Zi through her Tang Sect identity and reverence for Tang San; later studies Ju Zi’s technical notes 63 65 172.
  • Tang San — Enemy associated with the destruction of her original ambitions. Ju Zi rejects the heroic account of him preserved by the Tang Sect 48 65.
  • Huo Yuhao — A future lover described by Luo Can, not someone she has met before her arrival. His predicted obstruction of her revenge and unification shapes her rejection of that future 48.
  • Bibi Dong, the time-displaced Saintess — Fellow partner of Luo Can. Ju Zi initially reacts with jealousy, later warns her against showing mercy to Yu Xiaogang, and develops a friendly alliance with her 352 394 398.
  • Gui Mei — Visitor whose access to Soul Tool production is controlled. Ju Zi also mischievously encourages him to consider Yue Guan’s attachment as romantic 382 394 406.
