History

Luo Can founded the Fate Defying Pavilion after recounting how he had risen from 0.5 innate soul power and a supposedly “trash” White Silkworm Martial Soul to become a Title Douluo. He invited those willing to pursue strength and change their destinies to join him, framing the pavilion’s name as a declaration that one’s fate belongs in one’s own hands. 34

The organization developed around Baican Village and Fate Defying Valley. Qian Renxue was appointed Vice Pavilion Master, giving the young faction a second central leader, while Ye Qingyu took responsibility for its daily management. 36 68 Its early membership included disciples selected for their potential and temperament rather than elite backgrounds; Luo Can promised to improve their aptitude through marrow cleansing but emphasized that their ultimate growth would depend on their own efforts. 24

The founding intake consisted of 123 people: forty-three children and youths aged seven to sixteen, and eighty adults aged seventeen to fifty. Luo Can assigned the adults to the Outer Pavilion and offered the younger recruits a trial-based route toward provisional Inner Pavilion status. Life-Reversing Spring Water healed the recruits, increased their Soul Power, and improved their aptitude, after which they swore loyalty to the pavilion. The Ye Clan became its temporary Executive Group, responsible for daily affairs, Contribution Point audits, task assignments, and resource allocation. 35

The pavilion expanded from a cultivation faction into a multi-hall organization. Ju Zi accepted leadership of the Soul Tool Hall early in the pavilion’s development. Luo Can subsequently recruited Lou Gao, whose enthusiasm for Battle Armor and Soul Tool research helped draw his direct disciples and other master-level blacksmiths into the organization. 49 82 83 Yang Wudi then brought the Breaking Clan into the pavilion after Luo Can promised protection, assistance toward the Titled Douluo realm, and access to valuable pills. The rapid investment in resources and construction initially strained the pavilion’s finances. When its accounts fell to just over three hundred Gold Soul Coins, Luo Can suspended non-urgent spending and arranged guard teams for its medicine shops. Cheng Gang’s appointment as Guardian Elder provided a dedicated Titled Douluo protector during this early period. 96

Its intervention in the Clear Sky Sect’s siege of the Breaking and Defense Clans became a major public demonstration of strength. Following its public rise, the pavilion deepened its alliance with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. The sect sent ten disciples to learn Soul Tool techniques at the pavilion, while the Soul Tool Hall pursued standardized equipment, Soul Tool Mechas, and improved Battle Armor-forging methods. 303 319

Luo Can subsequently brought the Shui Clan into the pavilion by offering cultivation resources, Contribution Point rewards, and the prospect of Martial Soul Evolution. The clan’s water-attribute Spirit Masters expanded the organization’s pill-refining potential, while Shui Bing’er became Luo Can’s disciple and Shui Yue’er joined her sister. 324 327

The pavilion’s industrial influence continued to grow after Saint Craftsman Mu Chen agreed to assist Ju Zi, Xuan Ziwen, and Lou Gao with Battle Armor forging. Its auction of Thousand-Forged Tungsten Steel in Heaven Dou City served as a public recruitment signal for blacksmiths across the continent; the metal ultimately sold for one million Gold Soul Coins, and numerous blacksmiths began returning to the pavilion. 339 344 355

The blacksmith-recruitment effort subsequently produced a major expansion of the Soul Tool Hall. Fifty-five qualified blacksmiths were admitted under Si Long, while unsuccessful applicants were allowed to remain nearby for training and future assessments. Several of these blacksmiths opened workshops around the pavilion in order to benefit from its influence and forging instruction. 372

As its territory, industries, and experts expanded, the pavilion further formalized its internal security. Luo Can appointed the Rank 93 Yu Qiu as Guardian Elder and established the Law Enforcement Hall, with Cheng Gang as temporary Hall Master and Yu Qiu as Deputy Hall Master. The hall recruited Spirit Emperors and above, with Titled Douluos designated as team captains. 377

The pavilion also began addressing the threat of evil-corrupted Spirit Masters through a differentiated mission policy. Twelve irredeemably dangerous targets were placed on a red list for live capture or elimination, while nine less-corrupted individuals were placed on a blue list for attempted rescue. Ye Guyi was tasked with judging the degree of corruption, while Zhao Yan was sent to persuade those who could still be saved. 369

Its dealings with Spirit Hall developed into a covert political struggle. While ostensibly negotiating to repair the Ancient Bloodthirsty Demon Sword’s false sword tip, Luo Can, Qian Renxue, Ju Zi, and Yue Guan used the process to mislead Bibi Dong, restrict Gui Mei’s intelligence gathering, and cultivate support for Qian Renxue within Spirit Hall. By this period, the pavilion had only around five hundred visible members, but Saint Bibi Dong recognized that its disciplined structure, high-level elders, and Soul Tool industry made it a force capable of overpowering the Lower Four Sects. Luo Can and his allies consequently planned to expand its manpower through the Shui Clan, Skywater Academy, and possible absorption of other elemental academies. 399

Following Feng Ling’s purification, Luo Can established the Purification Hall and appointed her its Hall Master. He emphasized that purification did not erase her blood debts, making her new position a responsibility to house, educate, and assign other purified Spirit Masters rather than simply a reward for joining. 407

The pavilion also reinforced its academy network. After Cheng Gang confirmed that Zhang Lexuan would remain dean of Skyward Academy and train young Spirit Masters for Fate Defying Valley, Luo Can ordered Ye Qingyu to provide pills, medicinal bath packets, and five thousand Gold Soul Coins for expansion. Meanwhile, Gui Mei’s report on the pavilion’s senior experts and mass-produced Soul Tools increased Pope Bibi Dong’s apprehension and prompted her to authorize contact about purchasing Soul Tools through Elder Ling Yuan. 412

The Shui Clan later completed its entry into the organization, and Luo Can established Skywater Hall under Shui Xinhen. The second Grand Competition demonstrated the growing strength of its younger generation: Yang Gang won undefeated, Yang Bofeng placed second, and Shui Yaoyao finished sixth. Its top three participants entered a month of secluded cultivation. 429

Long Xiaoyao’s appearance as the pavilion’s Great Enshrined marked another escalation in its public standing. After he defeated Yu Yuanzhen with one finger, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan sent treasures and Gold Soul Coins to Luo’s Herb Shop as an apology and ordered its members to avoid the pavilion. Long Xiaoyao then traveled to Spirit City and challenged Spirit Hall; Pope Bibi Dong judged that the Pope Palace and Elder Hall could not handle him and received him for an exchange. The Law Enforcement Hall was created to give the pavilion a dedicated high-level internal-security and field-enforcement force. It may recruit Spirit Emperors and above, while each Law Enforcement Team captain is required to be a Titled Douluo. 377
