Background / History

Ike recruits Kageya Shinjitsu into a boys' group chat at Kushida Kikyo's suggestion. The group discusses and ranks female classmates by their bodies; Ike speaks with entitlement and assumes Kageya will accept the invitation. 17 18

During swimming class, Ike's jealousy of Kageya's growing closeness with Kushida becomes the central source of their conflict. After Kageya calls him an idiot, Ike attempts to kick him in the locker room; Kageya evades, trips him, and drives him into a metal locker, leaving a red mark on Ike's forehead. Although Ike threatens retaliation, his companions prevent him from escalating into a group fight. 18 19

Ike subsequently organizes Yamauchi Haruki, Sudo Ken, and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka into a plan to retaliate against Kageya and separate him from Kushida. The group surrounds Kageya after swimming class and tears his swimsuit, exposing Kageya's scars; their attempt to portray him as a former delinquent instead draws criticism from Kushida and the other girls. 20 23 24

Still intent on exposing Kageya's “true nature,” Ike helps push allegations about him through the school forum. He spends and borrows points to support the campaign, then proposes splitting any reward gained from posting information about Kageya. Kageya turns the tactic back on him by posting Ike to the forum, provoking another near-fight. 33 34 36 37

Personality

Ike is impulsive, easily provoked, and strongly motivated by jealousy over Kushida Kikyo. He treats Kushida as a “target” and interprets Kageya's interactions with her as interference with his own romantic ambitions. 20 22

He often relies on a group for confidence. He threatens Kageya repeatedly, recruits other boys into retaliation schemes, and backs away when the risk of punishment or direct defeat becomes clear. 19 20 25

Ike is also shallow and inconsiderate toward female classmates, participating in body-based rankings and dismissive conversations about them. His later forum scheme shows greed and desperation for private points, particularly when he offers Kageya a share of potential earnings from the accusations. 18 36
