Background / History
The Star Spirit Race was divided when the Omen of Eternal Night assimilated part of its population, creating the Dark Spirit Race and beginning a civil war that lasted for centuries. Their world was subsequently sealed off, while colossal Starry Sky Behemoths prevented escape through the sky. 177 214
Their faith centers on the Father God, who has reportedly been unresponsive for centuries. Historical trauma made them deeply suspicious of outsiders claiming a connection to him: an earlier Evil God had impersonated a messenger of the Father God and caused much of their people to fall into corruption. 177
The race’s first contact with players began after the Old Gou team looted a slain Star Spirit scout. The players’ possession of Star Spirit armor and a sealed elder-class letter led a Star Spirit officer to arrest them as possible Dark Spirit agents or Evil God believers. 116 174 175
The players’ ability to disappear through logging out and reappear within their shackles intensified Star Spirit suspicion. Elder Twilight Star eventually subjected them to destructive sterilization and disinfection tests; their repeated survival shifted the elders’ attitude from hostility to cautious respect. 177 190 194
During the Dark Spirit assault on Star City and Silver Moon City, the Star Spirit Race fought alongside the players and awakened Thunder Messengers to defend their cities. The alliance later expanded into military, logistical, and academic cooperation across Companion Star S-1. 198 203 216
Appearance
Star Spirits are slender humanoids with pointed ears and faint, starlight-like magical patterns across their skin. 116 174
- Ears: Long and pointed. 116
- Skin markings: Faint patterns resembling starlight or stars. 116 174
- Military attire: Regular soldiers wear fitted silver-white Star Spirit Light Armor. 174
- Frontier attire: Remote settlements may use rough animal hides and patched linen rather than formal armor. 174
- Distinction from Dark Spirits: Dark Spirit counterparts share their pointed ears and general build but have dark-gray skin that appears to absorb light. 116 127
Society and Culture
Sage Theocracy
The Star Spirit Race practices a Sage Theocracy: magical knowledge determines both a person’s power and social standing. Star Spirit City’s Grand Library is therefore both the race’s cultural center and a symbol of supreme authority. 225
Elders and military command
Elders are revered grand mages, with even the title of “elder” denoting at least fourth-tier strength. Elder Twilight Star, the authority of Star City, is a Lv.99 Lord. 190
| Position / Individual | Known benchmark | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Star Spirit Frontline Officer | Lv.30 | Commands frontier settlements and military escorts. 174 |
| Third-Order Commander | Third order | Can employ gravity magic such as Gravity Anchoring. 254 |
| Elder Twilight Star | Lv.99 Lord | Star City’s elder and a fourth-tier grand mage. 190 191 |
| Supreme Elders | Fifth tier; above Lv.100 | The race retains two known fifth-tier Supreme Elders. 216 |
Military doctrine
Star Spirit forces favor disciplined formations, complementary elemental magic, and orderly advances and retreats. Their commanders separated Star Spirit and player armies during the defense of Star City because the players’ reckless combat style was incompatible with Star Spirit tactics. 202
Abilities & Skills
Stellar Magic
Star Spirit magic is based on starlight and the simulation of stellar laws. Through Psychic Power of a single attribute, their spell system can produce effects comparable to multiple elemental schools. 224
- Documented elemental branches include light, water, ice, and fire magic. 224
- Their archives preserve rare spells such as Gravity Anchoring and Star Orbit Shift. 224
- Star Spirit archmages rapidly integrated Blue Star scientific concepts into magical research during their academic exchange with players. 225 226
Gravity Anchoring
A third-order Star Spirit commander used Gravity Anchoring to restrain an injured third-order star beast while players treated its wounds. 254
- Requires Star Runes placed around the target area. 254
- Does not distinguish allies from enemies within its effective area. 254
- Temporarily restrains powerful targets but cannot guarantee permanent containment of a third-order lifeform. 254
Military Psionic Equipment
Star Spirit soldiers employ psionic weapons and restraints in addition to conventional swords and bows. 175 176
- Psionic Imprisonment Gun — inflicts massive damage while forcibly leaving the target at 1 HP and paralyzing them through its “Capture Alive” effect. 175
- Psionic Shackles — glowing restraints used to secure prisoners and suppress their movement. 176
- Psionic Compass — can track a Psionic Lock rather than relying on physical traces such as blood. 117
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Star Spirit Light Armor — silver-white magical protective armor used by regular military personnel. A damaged set can consume mana to emit psionic waves that intimidate or repel nearby low-level beasts. 116 174
- Star Spirit Longbow — an extraordinary-material bow used by Star Spirit scouts; one recovered example was broken beyond immediate use. 116
- Enchanted swords and bows — weapons carried by Star Spirit officers, warriors, and militia. 174 175
- Magic Scrolls — portable spell devices used by or originating from Star Spirit magical practice. 116 237
Relationships
- Dark Spirit Race — corrupted former kin created through assimilation by the Omen of Eternal Night; the two races have fought a centuries-long civil war. 177 214
- Father God — the central object of Star Spirit faith. His prolonged silence and a past Evil God impersonation made the race hostile toward claimed messengers or kin. 177 290
- Players / “God’s Envoys” — initially treated as possible Evil God believers, then accepted as decisive military allies and academic partners after helping defend Star City and reclaim S-1. 194 203 216 291
- Thunder Messengers — revered as Divine Statues or Vessels; awakened Messengers defended Star City and later served as altar guards and teleportation nodes. 195 203 206
- Omen of Eternal Night — the Evil God responsible for the race’s schism, planetary blockade, and the Eternal Night Seal. 214 287
Story Role / Major Arcs
- First Contact — A dead Star Spirit scout’s armor, scroll, and secret letter draw the Old Gou team into Star Spirit territory. 116
- Arrest of the Old Gou team — A Lv.30 frontline officer captures the players after discovering them near identical corpses and Star Spirit military equipment. 174 176
- Starlight Hall incident — The players’ logout and return inside their shackles shocks Elder Twilight Star and escalates the investigation. 190 191
- Defense of Star City — The Star Spirit elders activate the weakened Starlight Guardian Array while players and Thunder Messengers help repel the Dark Spirit assault. 198 203 206
- Siege of Silver Moon — Star Spirit defenders make a last stand until player reinforcements and Star City’s Thunder Messenger force attack the Dark Spirit Army from both sides. 210 212
- Endgame of Light and Shadow — The race formally relies on the player army to eliminate Dark Spirit forces, while offering its magical knowledge in return. 214 216
- Reclamation of Companion Star S-1 — Star Spirit forces and players fight to destroy Umbral Spirit Altars, break the Eternal Night Seal, and restore S-1 as Titan’s Psionic Reserve Star. 287 288
- Post-war exchange — Elder Twilight Star opens Star Spirit libraries and instruction under their mages and engineers to players who remain on S-1. 291
