Background / History

Buluoke, a reclusive video editor from another world, transmigrated into Brook's body after the Rumbar Pirates were annihilated by enemies using poison gas in the Florian Triangle. His foreign soul merged with Brook's memories and soul, while Brook's original consciousness was scattered. Buluoke thereafter chose to live solely as Brook. 1

Brook escaped the Road to the Yellow Springs before his body could decay into a skeleton. Protected by the Yomi Yomi no Mi, he absorbed nether and ghostly auras, returned to his body in less than a day, and revived it with freezing underworld energy. He gave the Rumbar Pirates a burial at sea and vowed to avenge them. 1

After escaping the Florian Triangle alone, Brook defeated the slaver Disco, freed his captives, and recruited Antonio as his first crewmate. At Sabaody, he killed Poison Cannon Sarin and the Poison Smoke Pirates in revenge for the Rumbar Pirates. 4 7

Brook rebuilt his crew around the Hell Pirates, naming his ship the Yomi and recruiting specialists including Shakky, Fish-Man Tom, Silvers, Patrick Redfield, Crocus, Wuzhu, and the Qilin Lion.
