Background / History
Qi Si was created when Qi sent an incarnation into reality following Ragnarok and the sealing of most of Qi’s divine power. He lived as “Qi Si” in Jiang City, where the deaths of his parents left him largely isolated for six years. 464
Already terminally ill, Qi Si investigated people who had profited from supernatural incidents. When player Liu Ajiu broke into his studio, Qi Si killed and interrogated him, then inherited his Eerie Game qualification. He accepted immediately: death inside a dangerous game interested him more than dying passively from illness. 1
His first instance, Rose Manor, established his preferred method of survival: extracting information, manipulating allies, and solving an Instance’s underlying logic rather than relying on force. He unlocked the Humanoid Evil Spirit Identity Card during the clear and later obtained an S-rank True End evaluation, 4,500 points, Rose Heart, and the baptized Pocket Watch of Fate. His cure requires 1,000,000 points. 19 22 26
In the Dialectical Game, Qi Si confronted questions surrounding his identity after encountering multiple versions of himself. He ultimately decided that being the “real” Qi Si was less important than claiming the identity necessary to leave the Instance. A god later revealed that it had influenced his misfortune and expected him to contend for the final crown at the Ruins of Sunset. 64 65
Qi Si’s growing divine authority began with the Sea God Scepter and Soul Contract. He used contracts to control players, acquired a domain in Qi Family Village, and began presenting himself to its residents as a Main God. 96 156 202
In Double Happiness Town, he used Soul Contract seventy-eight times to ensure success, contracted with his own corpse, and continued as a ghost/monster hybrid. The transformation freed him from several restrictions of being a Player but left him unable to naturally heal injuries. 124 240 241
During Beast Arena, Chang Xu publicly marked him as a Slaughter Style Player and made killing him one of the Instance’s main quests. Qi Si nevertheless leveraged the Sea God Scepter, the Scarlet High Priest card, and the rat people’s faith to build a god-like position while deliberately risking death. 288 296 304
After his power exceeded the Eerie Game’s system limits, Qi Si pursued the authority of the Ancestral God. In Snow Mountain, he confronted ghosts of those he had killed, alternate versions of himself, and the value of his own “humanity.” Completing a human sacrifice ultimately gave him the substance of the Ancestral God. 364 422 430 431
Appearance
Qi Si is a young man whose original reflection is pale and unnervingly inhuman: he has a long, thin neck and extremely black pupils set against the whites of his eyes. His appearance changes frequently through Identity Cards, role-playing effects, and masks. 59 103 151
- His eyes later develop a faint red glow, then become scarlet under the influence of the Scarlet High Priest card. 103 247
- He is frequently associated with white clothing early on, but later adopts a red suit. 59 247
- The Human Skin Mask can make observers perceive him as the identity they subconsciously expect. 151
- After becoming a ghost, he has no heartbeat, though he can still appear physically human in reality. 124 241
Personality
Qi Si is calm, calculating, and exceptionally detached from ordinary moral or emotional restraints. He treats his social identity as a controllable character rather than an essential self, and he is willing to abandon names, appearances, allies, or even his own body when doing so improves his odds. 57 64 124
He prefers strategy, deduction, and manipulation over direct combat, partly because he recognizes his own physical shortcomings. He sees deception as an efficient tool and regards other people primarily in terms of information, utility, risk, or profit. 151 201 288
Death does not motivate him in the way it does most Players. He repeatedly accepts the possibility of dying when it serves a plan, and Nian Fu concludes that he cannot be pressured through an ordinary survival instinct. 1 296 304
Despite this detachment, later events force Qi Si to confront fear, desire, responsibility, and the residual “humanity” attached to people from his past. He initially finds that he has no particular desire to survive, win, or become the Ancestral God. 422 431
Abilities & Skills
Deduction and Instance Strategy
Qi Si specializes in identifying an Instance’s world-building, hidden rules, and intended logical structure.
- He favors deciphering an Instance’s setting over sacrificing companions for short-term survival. 19
- He repeatedly exploits time loops, faction rules, and hidden mechanics to secure True End clears. 96 301
- His combat ability remains comparatively weak without items or external authority. 26 288
Soul Contract
Soul Contract is Qi Si’s primary method of binding and exploiting other entities.
- Contracted souls are represented by golden Soul Leaves in his Game Space. 96 151
- His authority over Liu Yuhan is described as second only to The Rules, allowing him to monitor her rewards and control her points. 96
- The enhanced contract can prohibit gods from entering an Instance and transfer memories, skills, sensations, and items to his corpse after death. 124
- The skill can be sealed by hostile Identity Card effects. 238 288
Scarlet High Priest
The Scarlet High Priest Identity Card allows Qi Si to exploit faith as a resource.
- He more easily gains the faith of other beings and converts it into personal power. 201 439
- Faith from the rat people manifests as scarlet leaves within his Mind Palace. 296
- He uses the card to reinforce his performance as a god and to accumulate power through worship. 202 304
Sea God Scepter
The Sea God Scepter grants Qi Si a form of divine role-play whose power increases with absorbed Sin.
- It lets him create or violate local rules within the Sea of Hopelessness Instance. 96
- He can absorb Sin with it and use its authority to perceive Qi Family Village through the World Fruit. 156
- He uses the scepter to petrify rat people and snakes in Beast Arena. 296
- Its power and temptation make it dangerous even to allies; Cheng Ping’s greed for it leads to possession and death. 238
Undying One and Ghost Physiology
After dying, Qi Si continues as a ghost rather than a conventional Player.
- His injuries cannot heal naturally, forcing him to avoid blood loss and seek reliable protective tools. 241
- Even severe wounds that should incapacitate him can leave him conscious. 305
- Becoming a ghost prevents normal point rewards and removes him from the usual game summons, though he can compensate by harvesting points through contracted tools. 240
Identity Cards and Role-Playing
Qi Si treats Identity Cards as both power sources and identities to be exploited.
- Humanoid Evil Spirit improves his affinity with evil entities but also draws him closer to its image; he later discards it through the corpse contract. 29 99 124
- Villain grants control over voting order at critical protagonist-related plot points and one revival per script while the protagonist survives. 142
- He can use an unspecified Identity effect to kill one person, after which he must kill again within twelve shichen. 265
- He seeks the cards necessary to advance toward Lord of Gods, including Humanoid Evil Spirit, Scarlet High Priest, Fool Deceiver, Eyes-Closed Dictator, and Master of Souls. 365
