Background

Qin Leng was once a soldier who hesitated during a border skirmish, resulting in the deaths of twenty-four comrades. The guilt from that failure drove him to pursue atonement through increasingly extreme self-discipline and public service. He later reported two corrupt elder relatives for favoritism, bribery, and corruption, sacrificing his own standing in the process. Zhang Rendong became one of the few people who understood both Qin Leng's resolve and the danger of his self-imposed “hero” persona. 579

After accepting a dangerous covert post, Qin Leng entered the Nine-Tailed Fox and eventually became its founder, highest-ranking official, and sole commander. He built his leadership around containment, intelligence control, and long-term preparation rather than direct confrontation. 142 336

His initial supernatural abilities allowed him to observe another world and take objects from it. Qin Leng used this connection to acquire magic, learn foreign languages and scripts, establish communications with that world, and bring its cultivation methods into his own. 65 93 105 272 336

Qin Leng entered a demon contract with Baal. In exchange for demonic power, his soul would belong to Baal after death and he would eventually need to complete one morally permissible task for Baal; breaking the contract would strip him of his power. 174 272

Appearance

Qin Leng commonly conceals his inhuman traits behind a middle-aged human appearance, but his true body becomes increasingly demonic as his power rises.

  • His left eye is entirely black, with a blood-red vertical slit visible when his power is active. 65
  • After reaching the Fourth Tier, his pupils become horizontal and goat-like, while his legs become hooves. 339
  • His demon contract can produce blood-crystal limbs, a crystal eye, and two large dark fleshy wings. 174
  • His revealed demon form has blood-red eyes, black mist-like skin, spiraling black horns, and an indistinct face. 345
  • In Hell Space, he is over three meters tall with elongated limbs, usually hidden beneath broad robes. 579
  • He possesses a concealed second head within his chest, which can replace his severed primary head. 590

Personality

Qin Leng is methodical, suspicious, and willing to make himself or his allies bait if it advances a larger objective. He favors preparation, compartmentalized information, and containment over open conflict; he repeatedly uses doubles, false deaths, sealed rooms, and staged vulnerabilities to expose enemies and traitors. 116 117 118 157

His dedication to humanity is genuine but deeply unhealthy. After his early failure as a soldier, Qin Leng constructed strict mental shackles around himself, suppressing personal desires in pursuit of an immaculate heroic ideal. Zhang Rendong warned that this relentless self-denial would make him “no longer human.” 579

He accepts fear as natural rather than shameful, arguing that courage means acting despite it. His own willingness to die for a mission extends to treating his clones as expendable continuations of his purpose. 118 158

Sequence 007's mental contamination later overwrites his core ambition with the desire to create a gentle world free of killing, death, and war. Although he remains aware that this wish conflicts with his former intentions, he cannot resist it. 473 497

Abilities & Skills

Otherworld Gaze / Eye of the Demon

Qin Leng's left eye observes distant places and other worlds. It later develops into a movable, invisible projection that supports surveillance and spatial manipulation.

  • Observes a magical other world populated by monsters and vampires. 65
  • Allowed Qin Leng to obtain foreign magical knowledge, language, artifacts, and cultivation methods. 93 105 336
  • Can project invisible eyes that move at Fifth Tier speed and observe remote locations. 585
  • Can monitor locations across continents, but moving the projected eyes takes time. 585
  • His spatial manipulation is restricted to locations his Eye of the Demon can see; it cannot penetrate certain seals or enclosed spaces. 585
  • A Seven-Tier Sage destroyed one of his observing eyes, cutting off his vision of that cultivation world. 663

Demon Hand / Otherworld Hand

Originally an ability to “grab” objects from the world observed by his gaze, Qin Leng's Demon Hand later affects local objects and supports his spatial power.

  • Can retrieve items from a distance, including the Steel-Slaying Sword. 157 174
  • Can forcefully pull targets or objects without physically touching them. 159
  • Can banish a target to another world if its weight does not exceed twelve tons. 207
  • Forms the basis of his later spatial manipulation when combined with the Eye of the Demon. 585 588

Absolute Fear

Qin Leng's visual mental-contamination trait induces fear in conscious, emotional targets.

  • The effect is visually triggered, unlike Sequence 007's auditory contamination. 173
  • Can immobilize or disrupt powerful opponents through fear, including an Angel. 206 207
  • Does not affect targets without consciousness or emotions. 206
  • Can be mitigated by avoiding his gaze. 173

Demon Contract and Transformation

Qin Leng traded his soul to Baal for true demonic power.

  • Grants a demon body, blood-crystal regeneration, wings, and enhanced physical power. 174 272
  • Advanced his physical body to the peak of the Third Tier. 272
  • His demonic disguise can be actively hidden after reaching the Fourth Tier. 339
  • The contract is conditional: violating Baal's required task would cause Qin Leng to lose his demon power. 272

Magic and Cultivation

Qin Leng learned and disseminated magical and cultivation systems from another world.

  • Adapted an otherworld incantation to train the Right Hand's mental power. 105
  • Learned earth control, wind summoning, water condensation, and fire gathering. 105
  • Can employ magic without incantations through cultivated mental power. 158
  • Developed and distributed spiritual, material, and dual-cultivation methods through the Nine-Tailed Fox. 336
  • Learned directly from the Starry Sky Principal after reaching the Inner World. 339

Spatial Manipulation

The Forbidden Potion fused Qin Leng's Eye of the Demon and Demon Hand into a powerful space-based ability.

  • Opens portals, creates spatial blockades, teleports targets, and redirects attacks. 588 589
  • Can divide battlefields and force enemies into portals or into one another's attacks. 587 588
  • Created Hell Space over approximately 150 years while observing and projecting his eyes. 585
  • Can traverse between the material and mental realms. 588
  • The distance between his two projected eyes determines his teleportation range. 595
  • Is vulnerable to opponents who can sever or evade spatial effects, such as Arthur and Lin Feng. 589 596

Void Constitution

Qin Leng's Fifth Tier body is a fusion of spirit and matter.

  • Allows him to move between the mental and material realms without being harmed by their separation. 595
  • Makes him effectively indestructible within the Mental Dimension during ordinary damage exchanges. 595
  • Does not eliminate his physical vulnerability outside the favorable conditions of Hell Space. 596

Steel-Slaying Sword Techniques

Qin Leng wields a silver-white, crystal-inlaid one-handed sword known as the Steel-Slaying Sword.

  • Channels Blood Flame Blade, firing blood-red flames that burn enemies. 158
  • Its sheath enables the sword's stored slashing magic. 206
  • Can unleash Supreme Saint Slash, a radiant attack capable of killing Fourth Tier beings. 207
  • The radiant energy damages Qin Leng's demon body as severely as it harms his target. 207

Equipment

  • Steel-Slaying Sword — A crystal-inlaid sword retrievable with his Demon Hand; used for Blood Flame Blade and Supreme Saint Slash. 157 158 206
  • Steel-Slaying Sword sheath — Required to release the blade's inherited slashing magic. 206
  • Mithril Shard Grenade — Experimental grenade loaded with corrosive Mithril fragments; Qin Leng used it through a disposable clone to injure Blood Clan infiltrators and corrupt directors. 118
  • Spirit Awakening Flower / Blooming Luo Flower — An otherworld flower that stimulates the Heavenly Court acupoint and rapidly strengthens willpower and mental power. 98
  • Golden Trident — Temporarily carried during the confrontation with Li Yuan. 157 159

Relationships

  • Zhang Rendong — Close friend who admired Qin Leng's integrity but warned him against suppressing his humanity in pursuit of perfection. 579
  • Nairasojin — Trusted subordinate and captain of the original Right Hand team; Qin Leng trained him in magic and later relied on him to develop a new magic-and-technology Right Hand Unit. 98 105 498
  • Lord of Flesh and Blood (Sequence 012) — Provided Qin Leng with short-lived clones and memory implantation; Qin Leng entrusted it with the contingency of replacing or eliminating him if he became corrupted. 116 118
  • Meng Qing — A potential successor Qin Leng initially favored; Qin Leng fought beside him against the Fishmen and taught him that bravery means acting despite fear. 157 158 228
  • Bai Ye — Former Ren Water and Qin Leng's chosen successor as O5 Council chief; Qin Leng withdrew from the council and reserved the Ten Heavenly Stems seats for Bai Ye to refill. 326
  • Baal — Fifth Tier Demon King and Qin Leng's contract-granting progenitor. 272
  • Starry Sky Principal — Otherworld mage who taught Qin Leng magic after Qin Leng reached the Inner World. 339
  • Sequence 007 / Siren — Her passive mental contamination reshaped Qin Leng's central desire into her ideal of a world without death, war, or killing. 473 497
  • Sequence 009 — Long-standing enemy and eventual opponent in Hell Space; Qin Leng's plans repeatedly revolve around containing, controlling, or seizing power from 009. 228 583 587
  • Chen Ye — The Death God who exposes Qin Leng's self-deception and desire to die meaningfully; Qin Leng ultimately learns that Chen Ye engineered many of the “coincidences” shaping his life. 597 598
  • Chen Mo — Later master who identifies Qin Leng as a peak-Saint subordinate and tests his loyalty by ordering him to kill him. 703 704
