Background / History

Sequence 009 was one of Chen Ye's creations. Its initial creation succeeded, but it possessed an independent personality and could not understand human language. After repeatedly contacting Chen Ye by email and being blocked, 009 escaped confinement. It claimed to have deciphered a message from Chen Ye ordering the strong to eliminate the weak, then nearly killed Sequence 003, Wang Haonan. 36

The Nine-Tailed Fox later reported a successful containment operation against 009 after Spirit Master bypassed the Black Arrow through phasing. Despite this, 009's split derivatives remained widespread enough for Queen Bee to control many of them. 44 55

After receiving Black Arrow as a potion, 009 developed a conflict between its new Absolute Indestructibility and its self-destructive splitting process. This caused a Reverse Evolution: its splitting ability disappeared, while 009 itself became capable of functioning as the Black Arrow through Absolute Hit. 237

009 was transported with the Frost King to another world, where it sought a route back to Earth and began pursuing industrial and technological development. It later established an empire, using split artifacts to accelerate its followers from a cold-weapon society into an era of firearms, divine artifacts, and military expansion. 241 263 445

After breaking free of Bai Ye's influence, 009 used a global speech to rally independent Sequences against the “White King.” This movement formed the Anti-Nine-Tailed Fox Alliance, while 009 remained the spiritual symbol of the Chaos Splitter through persuasion rather than mind control. 342

Following another sealing of its powers, 009 awakened All-Things Fusion and used it to possess allies, evolve Chaos Splitter members, recruit Sequence 038, and expand its forces for war against the Central Continent. 488 490

During the conflict in the Sea of Stars, 009 became an unconscious force of Chaos after swallowing Li Yuan's hand and the Blood God within it. Sequence 001 used Absolute Perfection to replicate 009's abilities and killed it with a single strike from the God-Slaying Spear. 009 later reappeared as a Saint and ultimately took control of Entropy's fleet. 650 660 718

Appearance

009 is most often depicted as a white-haired man, initially wearing a black trench coat. Its body and outward form are highly mutable due to its splitting, temporary-body, possession, and fusion abilities. 36 172 488

Despite its violence, 009 is capable of long-term strategy. It pursues technological development, recruits useful enemies instead of immediately killing them, directs alliance-building, and uses Crowns, Potions, artifacts, magic, and military force as strategic resources. 263 454 490 498

009 is also a highly effective speaker. It built the Chaos Splitter around its rhetoric rather than loyalty-inducing powers, later inspiring Sequences worldwide to oppose Bai Ye. 342

Its loyalty to Chen Ye remained significant even after Chen Ye's death. Upon becoming a Demigod, 009 used the Infinite Chapter to summon its creator and proposed renewing their conquest. 718

Chaos Splitting

009's original ability periodically split parts of itself into chaotic, unpredictable entities and objects. Its derivatives became a major source of Containment Objects and anomalous threats. 36 233
