An employment offer forcibly abducts Zhang Anzai into an extradimensional company that runs a deadly reincarnation game, making him an intern administrator at the very bottom of the corporate ladder.

Moderating player forums, monitoring instance exploration, assigning quests, and providing hints-only by overseeing highly rated instance runs can he hope to survive in the company.

But after being saddled with one outrageously difficult player after another, he becomes a marginal employee with rock-bottom performance numbers, facing termination-in the most literal sense.

He spends his last employee points on a high-tier player matchmaking token. Yet instead of an existing player's profile, what pops up is a game screen asking him to create a player account.

"I've become a player?!"

Probation reviews, anomalies inside instances, inspections from management, competition for promotions-the company's troubles never stop coming.

A terrifying subway train crafted from funerary paper effigies rolls into the city, while evil spirits disguised as humans circle endlessly along a highway trapped in a supernatural loop.

An abandoned amusement park reopens, overrun with blood-oozing plush toys. Man-eating spirits carry knives and forks through a sprawling shopping mall, selecting their next meals. These eerie instances offer only the slimmest chance of survival.

Having inexplicably acquired a player avatar, Zhang Anzai begins a double-sided corporate life: earning high ratings in instances to secure his own promotions, and using insider information to make exploring those instances easier.

At some point, in some forgotten year, the era of monsters and bosses running rampant through the instances finally comes to an end.

The Reflected World gradually becomes a harmonious realm. Even the Abyss instances have been all but conquered.

Only a handful of bosses remain, desperately clinging to life. But they cannot escape their fate: to be slain, and ultimately cease to exist.
