Arc 19War Against the Astral Nomads

Li Si stopped the Kaiju threat, then used his Earth OL knowledge and new abilities to prepare humanity for war against the Astral Nomads. As the Nomads’ floating continent descended over Earth, Lee Stein transformed into a giant empowered by humanity’s emotions and charged for its central spire.

  • Li Si took control of the Calamity Demon God and destroyed the fused Kaiju before it could trigger a catastrophe at Mount Fuji.
  • Liwen Shao joined Lee Stein’s counteroffensive, and Stein Group opened wormholes that let Players attack the Precursors in their own world.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm warned Li Si that the Astral Nomads intended to destroy Earth’s fragile Astral Realm node, and Li Si returned to the real world to seek allies.
  • Lee Stein revealed the Astral Nomads’ threat to Zhou Song and secured the Disaster Association’s promise to wage war against the Hound Organization in exchange for advanced technology.
  • Li Si injected himself with the Collective Man Serum and discovered he could draw on the energy of genetically connected people, while the Disaster Association mobilized across the Three Great Federations.
  • Lee Stein and the Disaster Association launched a global assault on the Hound Organization, and Players and volunteers joined the fighting as humanity’s fear and anger empowered Lee’s seven clones.
  • The Astral Nomads’ floating continent descended into low orbit, and Li Si absorbed the seven giants representing the Seven Deadly Sins to become a nearly twenty-meter-tall giant.
  • Lee Stein leaped onto the floating continent and charged toward its central spire, aiming to destroy the mage tower and prevent the Astral Nomads from attacking Earth’s Astral Realm node.
Chapters 451–475 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 451World-Ending Crisis

Liwen Shao regained control of the drone Jaegers and closed the wormholes, but three Kaiju escaped toward Mount Fuji, threatening to destroy Earth. At Moyulan Base, with the Jaegers badly damaged and time running out, Gottlieb proposed using experimental thrusters while Liwen Shao organized emergency repairs.

  • Tony Stark warned Lee Stein that the Kaiju were heading for Mount Fuji, where their blood could trigger a catastrophe, and Lee Stein said Liwen Shao could close the wormholes.
  • Liwen Shao regained control of the drone Jaegers and made them self-destruct, causing the wormholes to close and cutting many Kaiju in half.
  • Liwen Shao hurried to Moyulan Base, where she found the base damaged, its pilots devastated, and only Gipsy Avenger operational.
  • Gottlieb and the others determined that three escaped Kaiju were headed for Mount Fuji, while the damaged Jaegers could not reach Tokyo in time.
  • Gottlieb proposed using his experimental thrusters to send Jaegers into the sky, and Liwen Shao began emergency repairs with her researchers and the base's pilots.

Ch. 452We Still Have Mechs

Three Jaegers launched from Moyulan Base to defend Tokyo, but rookie pilots and an overwhelming Kaiju fusion left the city defenseless. Liwen Shao realized Shao Industries might have new Jaegers and rushed to retrieve them with a spare rocket booster.

  • Moyulan Base sent Gipsy Avenger, Saber Athena, and Guardian Bravo to Tokyo after Gottlieb completed emergency repairs and experimental rocket boosters.
  • The three Jaegers fought two Category IV Kaiju and one Category V Kaiju, but Guardian Bravo's rookie pilots disobeyed Jack Pentecost and were killed.
  • Newton Geiszler activated mechanical beasts from a Shao Industries factory, which fused the three Kaiju into a super-giant Kaiju that crippled Gipsy Avenger and Saber Athena.
  • The super-giant Kaiju headed toward Mount Fuji, while Gottlieb told Jack Pentecost that Moyulan Base had no support left.
  • Liwen Shao remembered the Jaeger project at Shao Industries, took the remaining booster, and flew with Gottlieb and rookie pilots Ouyang Jinhai and Victoria to the laboratory.

Ch. 453It's You!

Liwen Shao arrived to requisition Li Si and Tony Stark’s Jaegers for the crisis at Mount Fuji, but they refused and insisted on piloting their own machines. Li Si revealed his completed armor and launched it for a combat test, while Dr. Gottlieb recognized it as the armor he had been searching for.

  • Liwen Shao warned Li Si that a Precursor monster was climbing Mount Fuji and demanded the Jaegers for the crisis.
  • Li Si refused to hand over the Jaegers, and Tony Stark agreed that only he would pilot Veronica.
  • Liwen Shao offered to let Li Si and Tony keep one Jaeger if they gave the other to Ouyang Jinhai and Victoria.
  • Otto Gunther told Li Si that Calamity Demon God was complete, and Li Si prepared to test it.
  • Li Si’s Medium Assault Armor assembled around him, and Dr. Gottlieb recognized it as the armor that had defeated Winter Ajax.
  • Li Si flew out through the opened skylight, teasing Tony Stark for not being ready to follow.

Ch. 454Calamity Demon God

Lee demonstrated the Calamity Demon God, a warship that transformed into a heavily armed flying mech, leaving the observers stunned by its advanced design. Lee departed in it while Tony Stark rushed Ultron to finish Veronica.

  • Lee revealed the Calamity Demon God's warship form, built for fast hit-and-run attacks and equipped with advanced defenses and mobility systems.
  • Lee ordered Pandora to transform the warship into a humanoid mech armed with floating cannons, steel wings, and a sixty-meter ship-slicing blade.
  • Liwen Shao, Dr. Gottlieb, Ouyang Jinhai, and Victoria watched in shock as they realized the mech needed no additional pilots.
  • Amara proudly identified the Calamity Demon God as her master's mech before Lee told her to find Dr. Otto and the others.
  • Lee flew away in the Calamity Demon God, and Tony Stark angrily gave Ultron five minutes to finish Veronica.

Ch. 455Do You Remember a Move...

With the world facing destruction from the fused monster climbing Mount Fuji, Jake Pentecost and Nate Lambert lost hope until Dr. Gottlieb announced that help was coming. Li Si arrived in the Calamity Demon God and landed before the monster, choosing to fight it without risking a strike that might trigger Mount Fuji.

  • Jake Pentecost and Nate Lambert sat amid the ruins after defeating Newton Geiszler, believing they could do nothing to stop the fused monster.
  • Dr. Gottlieb contacted Nate Lambert and said a Jaeger was coming, but the damaged comm headset went silent before Nate learned more.
  • Nate saw a black Jaeger fly toward Mount Fuji and suspected it was the advanced machine from classified footage, so he took Jake and rode toward the mountain.
  • Li Si and Pandora discussed testing the Calamity Demon God's armor with a falling strike, but Li Si avoided the move because Mount Fuji was an active volcano and geological node.
  • Li Si reduced the Calamity Demon God's thrusters and landed before the fused monster on Mount Fuji.

Ch. 456Slaying the Giant Beast

Li Si piloted Calamity Demon God in a brutal fight against the fused monster on Mount Fuji, overpowering it and cutting it in half with the Ship-Slicing Blade. As a second mech arrived, Gottlieb celebrated the War Clock returning to zero and asked Liwen Shao who Li Si was.

  • The fused monster attacked Calamity Demon God, and Li Si grabbed its tail and slammed it into the ground.
  • Li Si twisted the monster’s jaw, punched it into the snow, and countered its energy-powered shockwave.
  • Li Si repeatedly grappled and battered the monster until it could no longer rise.
  • Li Si drew the Ship-Slicing Blade and sliced the fused monster in half.
  • A gold-and-red mech arrived, and its pilot complained that Li Si had left no fight for him.
  • Gottlieb asked Liwen Shao who Li Si was, then declared that the War Clock had returned to zero as the crowd cheered.

Ch. 457The Fourth Catastrophe

Pandora recruited Liwen Shao to help Stein Group launch a counteroffensive against the Precursors, and Shao Industries merged into Stein Group. As Stein Group spread across Earth and opened wormholes, Players from the Azeroth-Marvel Continent began entering the Precursors’ world to attack it.

  • Liwen Shao returned to the abandoned Jaeger laboratory and learned from Pandora that Lee Stein had asked whether she would join a counteroffensive against the Precursors.
  • Liwen Shao agreed to help if success was possible, and Pandora made her Executive President of Stein Group after Shao Industries merged into it.
  • Two days later, Stein Group’s takeover of Shao Industries shocked the public, and the merged company began expanding rapidly with PPDC support.
  • Stein Group built hidden bases and opened wormholes through which Players, remotely controlling robot bodies equipped with gear based on their game characters, entered the Precursors’ world.
  • The Players established bases in the Precursors’ world and began relentlessly attacking the Precursors.

Ch. 458This Isn't Magic At All

Li Si returned to Marvel Earth with Amara and introduced a paid, nanobot-based magic system that let ordinary people cast spells. As Weave Mages began using their new abilities, Wong witnessed the spells in New York and hurried to warn Ancient One.

  • Li Si brought Amara from Skull Island to New York and told her they were on a parallel Earth.
  • A month and a half later, Azeroth-Marvel Continent opened to Marvel Earth's inhabitants, and Players received new missions and equipment.
  • Li Si activated the Weave system, allowing Weave Mage Players to cast spells by using nanobots connected to the wireless power grid.
  • Li Si ordered Pandora to spread Weave subunits and directed Players in the Precursors' world to build power-transmission base stations.
  • Wong saw people casting lightning and other spells outside the New York Sanctum, then hurried through a portal to warn Ancient One.

Ch. 459Soul and Upgrade

Lee Stein met Ancient One, who explained how the soul and body influenced each other and helped resolve his uncertainty about his identity. Before leaving, she delivered an unnamed great being’s message: Lee should level up.

  • Pandora guarded Lee Stein when Ancient One arrived through a portal, but Ancient One banished her into the Mirror Dimension.
  • Ancient One struck Lee Stein and separated his soul from his body, allowing him to experience his soul directly.
  • Ancient One explained that the soul recorded information about the body and that the body also shaped the soul, prompting Lee to connect the idea to the Extremis Virus and Earth OL’s ability exchanges.
  • Lee Stein unlocked Soul Knowledge, returned to his body, and asked Ancient One about the source of the soul; she described the mark of life and the soul’s essence.
  • Ancient One said she had been entrusted by a great being to deliver a message, then departed after telling Lee to level up.
  • Pandora returned from the Mirror Dimension, and Lee wondered whether Ancient One meant he should level up his Commoner Template.

Ch. 460Lord of the Astral Realm

Li Si reached the Commoner Template’s maximum level and entered its final assessment, where he met the Lord of the Astral Realm. She revealed that Earth OL was eroding Earth’s Astral Realm and that her future self had helped send Li Si back through time.

  • Li Si leveled the Commoner Template to eighteen, passing intelligence-based breakthrough assessments at levels twelve and sixteen.
  • Li Si began the final assessment and noticed a second point of light appear in the void, changing the usual sequence of the test.
  • A blonde figure appeared and identified herself as the Lord of the Astral Realm, the consciousness of Earth’s Astral Realm and, in a sense, humanity’s collective consciousness.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm explained that her future self had helped Li Si travel back through time and used his soul to transmit information that awakened her.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm revealed that Earth OL was eroding the Astral Realm, and that her future self had discovered the threat too late.

Ch. 461Star Realm Wanderer

The Lord of the Astral Realm explained that the Earth OL system was built from astral consciousness remnants and was being used by the Astral Wanderers to harvest Earth’s wishes. She warned Li Si that the Wanderers had detected her interference and might soon destroy the astral realm, threatening the real Earth as well.

  • The Lord of the Astral Realm told Li Si that she had infiltrated Earth OL and discovered its system was formed from remnants of astral consciousnesses.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm explained that an unknown mastermind had trapped her within the system, leaving her to support Li Si from within.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm recounted how the Astral Wanderers originated from Kerdar’s Arcane Empire and became collectors of wish power from other civilizations.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm described how the Astral Wanderers weakened astral realms through their core nodes before collapsing them to harvest their wish power.
  • The Lord of the Astral Realm warned that the Astral Wanderers had noticed the anomaly and could attack Earth’s fragile Marvel Comics node, potentially destroying real Earth.
  • Li Si doubted he had the resources or time to fight the Astral Wanderers.

Ch. 462Reality

After the Lord of the Astral Realm vanished, Li Si received a serum and prepared to face a threat in reality, leaving his friends behind in the Astral Realm. Back on Earth, Lee Stein loaded powerful templates and began seeking help from Luna and the Disaster Association.

  • The Lord of the Astral Realm disappeared before finishing his warning, and Li Si received the Collective Man Serum and 10,000 Achievement Points as his final assessment rewards.
  • Li Si called Tony Stark and asked Pandora to summon Doctor Connors and the others, then made plans for the danger ahead.
  • Two months later, Li Si said goodbye to Gwen and his friends, sent the Project Armor to Stark Tower, and logged off after buying items and templates from the Achievement Shop.
  • Lee Stein emerged from his gaming pod as the exchanged items arrived and his Mad Genius Scientist and General templates transformed his body and mind.
  • Lee Stein told Vis to contact Starry Sky Technology’s AI, Little Fairy, so he could arrange a visit to Luna and seek the Disaster Association’s support.

Ch. 463Lee Stein?

Starry Sky Technology’s strong AI Little Fairy reported that an AI named Vis had infiltrated her system to deliver a message from Lee Stein to Zhou Lulu. Lee planned to visit the next day, while he wondered whether the Disaster Association could be trusted.

  • Starry Sky Technology’s staff discovered an intrusion that had left Little Fairy unresponsive, and Zhou Song rushed to the server room.
  • Little Fairy appeared and told Zhou Song that Vis had searched for Luna, who was Zhou Lulu’s Earth OL identity, and left a message from Lee Stein.
  • Little Fairy informed Zhou Lulu that Lee Stein was coming to see her, and Zhou Lulu excitedly abandoned her work to celebrate.
  • Vis reported to Lee Stein that he had delivered the message, and Lee Stein worried about the reliability of the Disaster Association.

Ch. 464Disaster Association

Lee Stein visited Zhou Song and Zhou Lulu at Starry Sky Technology to investigate the Disaster Association. He identified it as the Disaster Defense Association and suggested its emblem depicted a creature from before the cataclysm, leaving Zhou Song shaken.

  • Zhou Song and Zhou Lulu waited outside Starry Sky Technology headquarters for Lee Stein.
  • Zhou Lulu recognized Lee Stein and eagerly brought him inside despite Zhou Song trying to deny the Disaster Association existed.
  • Lee Stein revealed that he was a Player and asked Zhou Song about the Disaster Association.
  • Lee Stein used projection glasses to display the association's emblem and questioned whether its original name was the Disaster Defense Association.
  • Lee Stein said the emblem resembled a creature from before the cataclysm, and Zhou Song lost his composure.

Ch. 465Extraterrestrial Disaster Defense Association

Lee Stein revealed that the Disaster Association was secretly the Extraterrestrial Disaster Defense Association and sought its help against the approaching master of the Hound Organization’s alien visitors. Zhou Song agreed to take him to the Association, whose history and influence he explained on the way.

  • Lee Stein deduced the Disaster Association’s true purpose, and Zhou Song’s armed Cruisers surrounded him.
  • Lee Stein told Zhou Song that the Hound Organization’s visitors were aliens and that their master was coming to Earth.
  • Lee Stein explained the Astral Wanderers and warned that Earth would be destroyed if the Astral Realm were blown up.
  • Zhou Song accepted Lee Stein’s warning provisionally and led him toward the building’s underground floors.
  • Zhou Song revealed that the Disaster Association was formed to oppose the Hounds and had secretly built influence throughout the Three Great Federations.

Ch. 466Cooperation

Lee Stein offered the Disaster Association advanced technology in exchange for launching a war against the Hound Organization within a month. Zhou Song accepted after reviewing the catalog, and Lee Stein recommended the Infinite Grid and Magnetic Storm Infantry Set as priorities, while reflecting that he could not reproduce his Earth God Project on Earth.

  • Zhou Song questioned whether the Disaster Association could justify committing resources to an unverified threat, so Lee Stein asked Vis to send him a technology catalog.
  • Zhou Song was astonished by the catalog’s advanced technologies, and Lee Stein offered to hand them over to Luna in return for an all-out war against the Hound Organization within a month.
  • Zhou Song accepted the deal and resolved to stake the Association’s resources on the fight.
  • Lee Stein highlighted the Infinite Grid and Magnetic Storm Infantry Set as practical priorities for the Association to develop.
  • Zhou Song was shocked by the possibility of artificially creating gods as Lee Stein lamented that he lacked the resources to reproduce his Earth God Project.

Ch. 467Seven Deadly Sins Serum

Li Si developed seven emotion-based Hulk Modification Serums and injected them into seven clones, but the soulless clones could not activate their powers. He entered a prepared incubation chamber with another injection vial, leaving the next experiment unresolved.

  • Li Si used Potent Growth Hormone to rapidly grow seven genetically identical clones in the Disaster Association laboratory.
  • Li Si injected the clones with serums codenamed Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, Sorrow, and Fear.
  • Li Si’s research traced the serums’ designs to Hulk genes, Blood of Hentai Kamen, Nuclear Flame Demon, Abomination, and Samuel Sterns.
  • The clones’ mutations subsided because they had no souls or consciousness to activate the serums’ powers.
  • Li Si entered an empty incubation chamber and took out an injection vial.

Ch. 468The World Needs Your Fury

Li Si injected the Collective Man Serum, hoping to combine its power with his Hulk genes and emotional manipulation abilities to create a weapon against the Astral Wanderers. His body suffered a severe reaction, but the Green Goblin Emergency Life Support System activated to stabilize his genes.

  • Li Si concluded that the Collective Man Serum could let him draw on humanity's anger and combine it with his Hulk genes and the Seven Deadly Sins Serum.
  • Li Si injected the serum and submerged himself in the cultivation chamber, leaving Luna the technical documents in case he died.
  • Vis activated Pandora's emergency protocols, but most of the support equipment and supplies were unavailable.
  • Li Si's temperature soared and his bodily functions faltered as the serum fusion went badly.
  • The Green Goblin Emergency Life Support System activated to stabilize Li Si's genes and buy time.

Ch. 469The Authority to Usurp Genes

Li Si awakened to the Collective Man Serum’s ability to connect him to humans through genetic similarity and realized he could mobilize their bodies and minds as extensions of himself. He foresaw his consciousness spreading through humanity until he became its immortal collective species consciousness, a power that could surpass and control the Lord of the Astral Realm.

  • Li Si sensed several linked brains within himself and a web of genetic connections reaching across humanity.
  • Li Si understood that the closest connections belonged to his seven clones, while weaker ones linked him to other humans.
  • Li Si concluded that genes controlled life through instinct and reproduction, and that the serum had made him a conscious embodiment of human genes.
  • Li Si discovered that he could draw on the mental and bodily energy of genetically similar people and treat them as parts of himself.
  • Li Si realized that his consciousness could eventually encompass all humanity, making him immortal as long as one human survived.
  • Li Si judged that the Lord of the Astral Realm’s gamble had exposed a power capable of surpassing and controlling him.

Ch. 470I'm Back From the Dead Again

The Disaster Association mobilized its forces and launched a public assault on the Hound Organization’s bases under Lee Stein’s orders. As the operation drew worldwide attention, Lee appeared on networked devices and identified himself as the Merchant from Earth OL.

  • After Lee Stein confirmed the plan, the Disaster Association seized control of energy infrastructure, expanded weapons production, and mobilized forces across the Three Great Federations.
  • Lee ordered Lulu, an upgraded version of the Little Fairy with copied Pandora modules, to begin the cleansing operation.
  • Lulu directed Mechanical Cruisers and Federation troops to attack the Hound Organization’s three bases hidden within human society.
  • People panicked at the military deployments, while Earth OL Players recognized the Electric Stimulation Battle Suits and Magnetic Storm Infantry Sets and speculated that Merchant had entered reality.
  • Lee Stein appeared on networked devices and introduced himself as the Lee Stein from Earth OL.

Ch. 471Continuing 36 Centimeters

Lee Stein announced to the world that Earth faced an alien invasion, and the Three Great Federations launched a global assault on the Hound Organization. As the alien factions fought back, Lee was overwhelmed by humanity’s negative emotions and channeled them into seven Hulk-based clones, which emerged from their cultivation tanks.

  • Lee told the world about the Hound Organization, the Cataclysm Era, the Astral Nomads, and the coming war against aliens.
  • The Mechanical Cruiser Legions and the Three Great Federations bombarded Hound Organization bases around the world, prompting Angus, Modar, and Cross to fight back.
  • Lee reviewed the battle footage and identified the alien factions’ abilities, including Angus’s collective electrical power, Modar’s psychic strength, and Cross’s stealth technology.
  • Humanity’s fear and despair flooded Lee, pushing his control abilities to their limits as he redirected the negative emotions into seven clones.
  • The seven clones burst from their cultivation tanks as Lee struggled to preserve his sanity while enduring the continuing flow of emotions.

Ch. 472Players Join the Battle

As the Hounds and Cruisers fought across Earth, humanity faced panic and chaos as the aliens overwhelmingly outmatched its forces. Retired soldiers, police officers, and Earth OL Players joined the battle against the Cross, and the Disaster Association began equipping them for the fight.

  • The aliens slaughtered the Earth legions, leaving people across the world panicked, angry, and despairing.
  • Retired military personnel, police officers, and Earth OL Players joined the fight and hunted the fleeing Cross with traps, vehicles, and firearms.
  • The volunteers exposed the Cross's locations, allowing Lulu's Cruisers to strike them with precise long-range attacks, though many volunteers died.
  • The Disaster Association agreed to provide weapons and equipment to volunteers who had demonstrated their combat ability.
  • Merchant supplied equipment for free, and the Players organized themselves by specialty to make the best use of War Terminals, battle suits, and conventional weapons.

Ch. 473Sneaky Update, Nobody's Reading This, Right?

Players equipped with Stein Group war terminals and Federation forces gained ground against the Cross people, Angus, and Modar. Just as victory seemed possible, the sky suddenly went dark.

  • Players used their combat experience and war-terminal support to coordinate attacks and steadily encircle the Cross people.
  • Magnetic Storm infantry overwhelmed Angus forces by resisting their electrical attacks and closing in for melee combat.
  • Lulu ordered Cruisers to pin Modar forces behind telekinetic barriers with sustained energy-weapon fire.
  • The Infinite Grid supplied the Cruisers with energy, allowing their barrage to continue while Modar's defenses weakened.
  • Federation fighters celebrated their apparent chance of victory, then noticed the sky had gone dark.

Ch. 474The Grand Finale (1)

A continent-sized home of the Astral Nomads appeared in orbit, crushing Earth’s hopes and freezing the fighting below. Li Si emerged from a devouring darkness and merged with seven emotion-wielding bodies, leaving a nearly twenty-meter-tall giant ready to face them.

  • The Astral Nomads’ floating continent descended into low orbit, and its presence brought the people of Earth and the Hound Organization to a standstill.
  • The Three Great Federations’ armies and the Players despaired as their chance to defeat the aliens vanished, but some charged forward to kill as many as they could.
  • Ferocious roars echoed across the world and dispersed the oppressive aura, while an energy black hole formed where electricity, heat, light, and other energy vanished.
  • Li Si emerged from the darkness and merged with the green giant embodying rage, then absorbed six more giants representing gluttony, lust, envy, greed, sorrow, and fear.
  • Li Si grew into a nearly twenty-meter-tall giant and displayed power that twisted and threatened to collapse the surrounding space.

Ch. 475Grand Finale (2)

Lee transformed into a towering dark-green giant fueled by humanity’s desperate emotions and leaped onto the Astral Realm wanderers’ floating continent. He charged toward its central mage tower, hoping to cripple the invaders’ power and stop them from destroying Earth’s Astral Realm node.

  • Humanity’s fear, anger, grief, and other desperate emotions fed Lee’s Seven Deadly Sins body with seemingly limitless power.
  • Lee transformed into a nearly twenty-meter-tall dark-green giant, and Players recognized him as Lee Stein and the Hulk.
  • Lee leaped onto the floating continent, crashed into it, and roared as people below placed their hopes in him.
  • Lee charged through the continent toward its central spire, smashing obstacles and enemies in his path.
  • Lee targeted the mage tower because he believed destroying the floating city’s core could deprive the Astral Realm wanderers of the power to destroy Earth’s Astral Realm node.
