Background

Ye Guyue spent his early years focused almost entirely on cultivation. The elders of the Worship Hall competed to teach him, and Qian Daoliu and the other worshippers became strongly attached to him. Because he lived and trained primarily in the Worship Hall, he initially had little contact with Bibi Dong. 2

After returning to Martial Soul Hall following more than a year away, Ye Guyue displayed the hundred-thousand-year spirit ring he had obtained and was confirmed as a Spirit Saint. Qian Xunji, impressed by his talent, proposed that Bibi Dong marry him rather than Yu Xiaogang. Ye Guyue initially requested time to consider the arrangement, but ultimately accepted it. 3 4

He later married Bibi Dong and became Martial Soul Hall’s official Holy Son. During their wedding, he publicly exposed Yu Xiaogang’s conduct through a recording, helping sever Bibi Dong’s attachment to Yu Xiaogang. 10

Ye Guyue’s search for power led him to the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, where he refined his body and encountered the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings. They recognized his connection to Gu Yuena and the dragon race, agreed to aid his breakthrough, and took temporary residence in his sea of consciousness. 13 14

The Holy Dragon God chose Ye Guyue as a successor, granting him a divine trial, the Holy Emperor Dragon Spear, and a path toward godhood. Ye Guyue later accepted the Asura God’s inheritance as well, intending to hold two God King positions. 17 135

Qian Xunji gradually entrusted Ye Guyue with greater responsibilities in Martial Soul Hall, first discussing his eventual succession and later publicly announcing his intention to transfer the position of Pontiff to him.
