Nature and Inheritance

Martial Souls originate from bloodline sources; the quality of a Soul Master’s Martial Soul affects the value of that source bloodline in advanced processes such as Battle Armor creation. God Rank Martial Souls are described as exceptionally rare. 26

A Martial Soul may be inherited through a lineage, remain dormant, mutate, or evolve. The Sun Martial Soul, for example, is the prerequisite inheritance for the Purple Brilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon: the Sub-Dragon Progenitor used essence blood and the sun as a vessel to create that dragon lineage. 178

Councilor Xu’s dormant heritage was restored when destructive power remade his red-gold Sun Martial Soul into a purple sun containing a dragon-shaped shadow, producing a second awakening of the God Rank Purple Imperial Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon Martial Soul. 6

Martial Soul awakening can reveal dormant bloodline potential. Councilor Xu’s original Sun Martial Soul mutated after receiving destructive power, while Long Zijin received the Amethyst Dragon through divine bestowal alongside an infusion of Soul Power. 6 38

A Martial Soul can also be accompanied by Soul Spirits and Soul Rings. The Goddess of Love became Long Zijin’s life-bound first Soul Spirit, manifesting alongside the red-gold first Soul Ring of the Lovesick Heartbreak Red. 9

Martial Soul Possession

Martial Soul Possession externalizes a Martial Soul’s traits onto its wielder. Xu Hutong’s Three-Eyed White Tiger possession produces tiger fur, double pupils, and a vertical Spirit Eye, while Long Zijin’s Amethyst Dragon possession produces translucent amethyst armor and dragon pupils. 92 178

Possession can also manifest a Martial Soul Avatar. Long Yeyue’s evolved Martial Souls appeared as enormous black-and-white Dragon King avatars during her simultaneous use of their ninth Soul Skills. 155

Soul Rings, Soul Spirits, and Skills

Suppression and Compatibility

Higher-grade or more suitable Martial Souls can suppress weaker or related inheritances.

• The Purple Imperial Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon suppresses the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon. 82
• The Lovesick Heartbreak Red’s fragrance forces Zhou Tian’er’s Wood Spirit and its vines into submission, restoring Tang Wulin’s control over his Blue Silver Grass. 115
• The Rakshasa Demon Scythe suppresses Xu Yucheng’s Dark Demon Scythe because it is identified as the source of that Martial Soul’s bloodline. 204

Martial Soul compatibility can enable joint cultivation or a Martial Soul Fusion Skill. However, plane suppression is stated to prevent even perfectly compatible high-level Soul Masters from successfully forming a conventional fusion skill. 42

Tang Wulin and Long Zijin instead achieve a bloodline fusion skill through their Golden and Amethyst Dragon bloodlines rather than through Blue Silver Grass and Lovesick Heartbreak Red. The resulting purple-gold power forms an innate domain that draws in natural and elemental energy and affects space and time. 117 126

Historical Legacy

Martial Souls can preserve the legacies of ancient beings across generations. Long Zijin explains that ancient dragon and beast kings left fragments of their powers in the modern era through inherited Martial Souls. 37

The Angel Martial Soul once evolved into the six-winged form, while its related Sun Holy Sword became a divine artifact. After the Angel God Sword was shattered and the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul damaged, that inheritance declined and produced no further successors. 74

Titles may likewise be inherited when later descendants possess the same Martial Soul, allowing ancestral names and wills to persist through a shared spiritual legacy. 74
