"Are you done?" Sasuke asked with a frown. There was no longer any trace of his earlier anger on his face, though he had worn the same look the whole time, as if everyone owed him money.
This guy seemed to have kept his hand on Sasuke's neck a little too long. If Sasuke hadn't heard that he could eliminate the danger posed by the Curse Mark, he would have snapped long ago!
"Of course~" Orochimaru said, withdrawing his arm somewhat reluctantly.
Unlike his earlier hotheaded recklessness, Sasuke now seemed to be thinking something over. He looked exceptionally calm. Although that fall had hurt badly, Uzumaki Reikawa had undoubtedly held back.
Itachi—he seemed to have been trying to provoke him all along. And although Sasuke had indeed been unable to contain his anger, once he calmed down, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
Meanwhile, the other three Hokage quietly observed these younger shinobi from Konoha. They felt a little wistful, but had no intention of stepping forward to say anything more.
It wasn't just because of their promise to Uchiha Gen. Unless there was a real need, saying more would only add to the heartache.
Though, if he were being honest, Minato did want to take a good look at Naruto once everything was over.
At that thought, Minato smiled bitterly. He really was an unfit father. But back then, he hadn't been able to bear watching Kushina leave alone. Well, he still couldn't now...
Looking at the masked figures in the back, Jiraiya suddenly asked, "Is Hyuga Mokujin among them?"
Uchiha Gen looked puzzled. "Do you need him for something?"
"Nothing. I was just asking." It seemed he wasn't here.
"If there's nothing else, we'll be leaving. Please apologize to the Raikage for me."
