The people of Universe 7 had no idea what had happened in Universe 6. After all, no one had shared the news.
After Champa said his goodbyes and left, Beerus said solemnly to Goku and the others, "You're only allowed to win this match. You're not allowed to lose. Understand?"
Goku, Vegeta, and the others nodded firmly, knowing how important this was.
Whis smiled. "You have three months. You won't have to do any chores during that time. You have only one goal—train."
At those words, Vegeta and the others grinned. They didn't want to deal with those trivial tasks, and the thought of training made them clench their fists with excitement.
Vegeta thought, If I can gain an initial grasp of Hakai Energy in these three months, my strength will advance by leaps and bounds.
Son Gohan had also mastered Super Saiyan Blue. He had an idea, though: perhaps he could combine it with his Mystic Form. The process would be difficult, and he would need to keep exploring and training.
Seeing that Ye Ming had mastered Mastered Ultra Instinct, Son Goku was trying to learn Ultra Instinct himself, but he was having some trouble.
Seeing how fired up everyone was to train, Ye Ming wanted to help them—and himself—improve their strength in a short time.
Then Ye Ming remembered that there was a form beyond Super Saiyan Blue: Super Saiyan Blue Evolved, which was even stronger. Transforming into Deep Blue required an ironclad conviction.
In the original story, Vegeta had thought of his promise to Cabba of Universe 6 and suddenly transformed into Super Saiyan Blue Evolved. It was the strength of Vegeta's conviction that had made it possible!
Ye Ming suddenly said to Vegeta and the others, "Sparring with each other during this time won't do much to improve your strength. I suggest you train your willpower. You might be able to transform into a form even stronger than Super Saiyan Blue—Super Saiyan Blue Evolved."
"It requires tremendous willpower and an unwavering conviction in your heart. You need to understand what you want to protect."
Vegeta and the others' eyes lit up. "Is that true, Ye Ming? There's another form called Super Saiyan Blue Evolved?"
Everyone looked at Ye Ming curiously.
"That's right. Super Saiyan Blue Evolved requires unwavering conviction. I don't know if you'll be able to master it, but give it a try."
Son Goku said excitedly, "All right! We'll train our willpower for the next three months and see if we can reach that level."
Vegeta and Son Gohan exchanged glances and nodded to each other.
Whis stood to the side without a word, watching Ye Ming with an amused smile. Beerus, too, looked at Ye Ming with a smile.
Ye Ming noticed Whis and Beerus watching him and gave an awkward smile. "I only just figured it out. It's good if it helps Goku and the others get stronger. We're sure to win this time."
Whis and Beerus exchanged a glance and said nothing. They both knew Ye Ming was mysterious; he always managed to bring them miracles.
Beerus said, "You can train in my Destruction Space during this time. It's a training ground reserved for Gods of Destruction. I'll generously lend it to you for now."
Ye Ming, Son Goku, and the others nodded, then immediately followed Whis to the Destruction Space.
Son Gohan said, "This place is a bit like Earth's Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Time passes much more slowly here, too."
Whis explained, "I personally altered this space. The ratio of time inside to time outside is one to twenty."
Son Goku let out an excited cry. "Wahaha! It's even better than Earth's Hyperbolic Time Chamber!"
Vegeta looked around with a smile and thought, There's a strong aura of destruction in this space. Maybe I can train in Hakai Energy while I try to master Super Saiyan Blue Evolved. If I'm lucky enough to master it, my strength could skyrocket.
And so their training began.
Ye Ming sat alone in one of the many secluded spaces within the Destruction Space. He could train here without anyone disturbing him.
Soon, Ye Ming sat cross-legged and began to ponder. Why is Universe 6 going after Universe 7? I just can't make sense of it.
Ye Ming tried to recall the powerful fighters in Universe 6. He racked his brain, but based on the original story, he could only think of Hit. But surely Hit hadn't reached a God of Destruction's level yet. What gave Champa, the God of Destruction of Universe 6, such confidence?
Ye Ming knew about Universe 11 and Jiren, who possessed the strongest mortal power. But that was only true before Ye Ming arrived in this timeline. Jiren might not be the strongest now.
Ye Ming knew that ever since he had arrived in this timeline, the course of events in this universe had changed.
Since he couldn't figure out the key to it, Ye Ming gave up and began to take stock of his own strength.
Over the past five months, I received Super Saiyan Blue through the system's daily sign-in rewards. It didn't improve my strength by much, though. Fortunately, during those five months, I mastered Mastered Ultra Instinct and gained the ability to use it freely, at least to some extent.
One evening, Whis had told him that Ultra Instinct was actually a state of being. It didn't require a transformation, and Ye Ming could try to incorporate it into his base form.
Ye Ming knew that the Angels could use Ultra Instinct freely without expending stamina.
Ye Ming thought, I've mastered every form from Super Saiyan 1 through Super Saiyan 4 Full Power, as well as Super Saiyan Blue and Mastered Ultra Instinct. I also have Kaioken.
Ye Ming had wanted to try transforming into Super Saiyan 5. He had watched AF Son Goku in Dragon Ball AF, and knew that the transformation required intense anger and the emotions buried deep in one's heart. But no matter how many times he tried, he couldn't do it.
Ye Ming let out a quiet sigh. "Maybe the time isn't right yet!"
Although Ye Ming's base power had increased tremendously over the past five months, and fighting Whis had greatly improved his combat experience, he still felt a sense of crisis welling up inside him, leaving him vaguely unsettled.
His strength had already surpassed the level of a God of Destruction, but he was still nowhere near an Angel's level. He hadn't even reached the threshold.
As Ye Ming considered how to quickly improve his strength over the next three months, an urgent desire to grow stronger took hold of him and wouldn't let go. He felt something unexpected might happen in this battle between universes.
At that moment, Ye Ming had a sudden idea. "System, can I combine my Saiyan God Form with Super Saiyan 4?"
The system's mechanical voice rang out. "In theory, it is possible, host. However, there are certain requirements—you must have a body capable of withstanding it. Otherwise, you may not survive the energy when the forms combine, and your body will explode! You must also perfectly blend God Ki and mortal energy. Otherwise, the process of combining them may be dangerous."
The system's answer confirmed Ye Ming's theory. A slight smile tugged at his lips as he thought, If I can't handle this universe, then who can?
And so Ye Ming began working on controlling his ki and strengthening his body.
Within Beerus's Destruction Space was an excellent place to strengthen one's body: the Universal Gravity Chamber. It was far more powerful than the Gravity Chamber at Bulma's house.
Ye Ming couldn't help thinking that Lord Beerus had excellent training facilities. They were truly the kind of thing only a God of Destruction could have.
Meanwhile, in Universe 6, Vados was training Hit and AF Son Goku, two of the universe's strongest fighters.
In a short time, Son Goku had mastered Super Saiyan Blue, and his control over God Ki had grown more refined.
Suddenly, a flash of light appeared in AF Son Goku's eyes as he meditated, and a terrifying aura began to rise! He was stronger than before. His Super Saiyan 5 form had now perfectly merged with God Ki.
Silver light flickered around him, giving him an especially sacred appearance. He looked very different from when he was in Super Saiyan 5. This wasn't Ultra Instinct; it was the new Super Saiyan 5 God form AF Son Goku had mastered! (This form hasn't appeared in either the fan work or the original story; it isn't White-Haired Goku.)
Vados was delighted to see how much AF Son Goku's strength had improved. After all, she had trained him herself.
Ever since AF Son Goku had arrived in Universe 6, Champa had also resumed training, because he couldn't even beat a mortal now—Ye Ming and AF Son Goku!
Champa was also happy to have AF Son Goku around. He felt that this Goku from another timeline seemed much more levelheaded, perhaps because his home had been destroyed.
Champa had even taught AF Son Goku the techniques of a God of Destruction. Son Goku knew it was Hakai Energy and was very grateful to Champa.
AF Son Goku knew he would fight the warriors of Universe 7 in three months. Champa had told him he had to win the battle and bring glory to Universe 6.
After all, AF Son Goku knew that the timeline he had come from was already destroyed and there was no way to save it. This universe he now lived in was pretty good, too. It had given him a sense of home once again.
AF Son Goku had made plenty of new friends here: Hit, Caulifla, Cabba, and Kale. As for the treacherous troublemakers, AF Son Goku had dealt with them long ago.
When Hit first met Son Goku, he had been very curious about him and challenged him to a fight. The result was obvious: he was completely crushed. Time Skip was useless against AF Son Goku.
But during this time, Hit had made a huge breakthrough with Time Skip. It had previously lasted 0.1 seconds, but now it could last 0.5 seconds. That was progress.
Hit and AF Son Goku gradually grew closer. They sparred with each other and improved together, as did the other Saiyan warriors, Kale and Caulifla.
Caulifla had also reached the Super Saiyan Blue level. With a powerful Angel like Vados personally guiding her, it was only natural that she would make tremendous progress in such a short time.
Kale had the Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline. When Champa found out, he was startled. At first, when Kale lost control and went berserk, Champa had intended to destroy her, but AF Son Goku stopped him.
AF Son Goku explained, "She has the bloodline of the Legendary Super Saiyan, something that appears only once in a thousand years. She just can't control her power yet. Lord Champa, don't misunderstand."
"All Vados needs to do is teach Kale how to control her power."
And so, over the course of those six months, Kale learned to control her power—at least to some extent!
After Beerus fought Ye Ming, Champa had learned about the Saiyans' potential and asked Vados to visit their planet and select a few promising candidates to train.
There was no denying it: Champa could be surprisingly clever sometimes.
