At that moment, Vegeta and Son Goku were eating their fill at the God of Destruction Palace, while Ye Ming was happily stuffing himself too.
Beerus was lounging in his chair. "Later, Lord Zeno will hold a tournament for the twelve universes. I don't think we have enough fighters yet, so we should find a few more with potential."
Son Goku scratched his head and thought it over. "There's me, Vegeta, Ye Ming, and Gohan. We could also add Piccolo, Majin Buu..."
When he mentioned Trunks, Vegeta cut him off, frowning. "Son Goten and Trunks are still young. I'm not denying they have potential, but they can't join us yet."
Ye Ming spoke calmly. "If we're looking for fighters, I actually have a few candidates in mind. They might surprise you."
Son Goku and the others perked up their ears when they heard Ye Ming.
"Have you heard of the Legendary Super Saiyan? There's one in our universe, and I know which planet he's on!" Ye Ming said mysteriously.
Vegeta immediately stood up, stunned. "Is that true? A Legendary Super Saiyan only appears once every thousand years. Kale from Universe 6 is one, too. But Legendary Super Saiyans can lose control easily. I'm afraid..."
"That's no problem. We have a teacher who specializes in training people, don't we? Besides, with all of us there, he won't be able to cause much trouble." Ye Ming shook his head.
As soon as Son Goku heard there was a Legendary Super Saiyan, he excitedly clapped his hands. "That guy must be strong! I can't wait to fight him."
Vegeta smacked Son Goku on the head. "Kakarot, please shut your mouth."
Vegeta immediately asked, "Where is this Legendary Super Saiyan? I want to see him, too."
"Then let's go. We're already full, so please come with us, Whis!" Ye Ming said.
Whis stood up. "Of course. Let's go!"
"He's on a planet called Vampa," Ye Ming said.
Vegeta and Son Goku went along with them. Son Goku looked excited, while Vegeta frowned. He'd grown up hearing stories about the Legendary Super Saiyan, and now he was eager to see one for himself.
During the flight, Ye Ming told them there should be two Saiyans on Vampa: "One is named Broly, and the other is his father, Paragus. To be honest, the fact that they ended up on that planet was connected to King Vegeta and Frieza!"
Vegeta and Son Goku listened with curiosity as Ye Ming continued. "After Broly was born, King Vegeta detected that he had far greater potential than Vegeta. Fearing Broly might threaten his son's claim to the throne, King Vegeta exiled him to Vampa, a planet unfit for habitation."
"But when Planet Vegeta was about to be destroyed by Frieza, Broly went to rescue his father, Paragus. After that, the two of them depended on each other."
"If we go there now, Broly won't have learned to control his power yet. When he gets angry, he's like a wild beast."
Son Goku glanced at Vegeta. "Your father was pretty ruthless. Like father, like son."
Vegeta snorted. "How should I know? What's that got to do with me? Kakarot, I suggest you watch your mouth."
Whis was also surprised that Ye Ming knew so much, but the surprise passed quickly. It wasn't a big deal.
A short while later, a brilliant light appeared over Vampa and descended near Broly's home.
Broly and Paragus saw someone arrive on their planet and hurried over. They'd been stuck there for a long time.
Paragus stopped abruptly when he saw a familiar face. He stammered, "P-Prince Vegeta, you're still alive!"
Vegeta didn't like the sound of that. He said arrogantly, "Paragus, was it? Were you hoping I'd die?"
Paragus hurriedly shook his head. "N-no, I was just shocked, that's all. I'm actually very happy to see you, Prince Vegeta! Haha!"
In truth, Paragus didn't feel that way at all. He wanted nothing more than to get rid of Vegeta. He was ambitious and hoped to use Broly to conquer the entire universe!
Ye Ming knew exactly what he was thinking, but didn't call him out. Paragus wasn't strong enough to do anything, after all.
Ye Ming stepped forward and looked at Broly behind Paragus. "We're here to take Broly with us. This has nothing to do with you, so stay here."
Paragus froze. "Who are you? I've never seen you before. Why do you want to take Broly?"
Ye Ming gave him a mocking smile. "Who I am doesn't matter, and you don't need to have seen me before. As for why we're taking Broly, it's because he's the Legendary Super Saiyan. We're taking him to teach him."
Paragus was shocked. How did they know Broly was the Legendary Super Saiyan? Broly was his weapon for conquering the universe. What would he do without him?
Paragus's expression turned vicious. "No! You can't take Broly. He's my son. You'll never get away with it."
Ye Ming exchanged a knowing smile with Whis, then said to Paragus, "You're still dreaming of using Broly to conquer the universe? That's just a pipe dream in broad daylight! Drop those schemes of yours!"
"Besides, we're not negotiating with you. We're informing you. We're taking Broly, and you can't stop us."
Paragus furrowed his brow. He knew the man standing before him was incredibly powerful. Clearly, he was the one in charge!
Paragus sighed. "Then how about we make a wager? If you win, I'll give Broly to you and won't interfere again."
Broly stood there dumbly, not even realizing he'd been sold out!
Ye Ming smiled with interest. "What kind of wager? Let's hear it."
Paragus said seriously, "Have one of your people spar with Broly. If your fighter wins, you can take him. If I win, you'll never come back. How does that sound?"
Ye Ming had intended to kill Paragus and take Broly by force, but that might leave a shadow in Broly's heart. Maybe it was better to let it go.
Ye Ming turned to Son Goku and Vegeta. "I'll leave this to you. Take care of him!"
Son Goku smiled as soon as he heard there'd be a sparring match. "Wakaka! I'll go first! Hehe."
Vegeta glanced at him. "I never said you could go first! Kakarot, get out of the way!"
"How about rock-paper-scissors? That'd be fairer," Son Goku said.
Vegeta snorted, apparently agreeing with Son Goku's idea.
Unfortunately, Vegeta lost again. He glared furiously at his fist. "Damn it, Kakarot! You got lucky again!"
Son Goku swept his arm out, showing off his martial arts uniform as he faced Broly with a fighting spirit.
Paragus nodded solemnly to Broly, who nodded back.
And so, Son Goku versus Broly began!
