Su Mo is a transmigrator who awakened in Douluo Continent with the Broken Sword martial soul and only level-two Innate Soul Power. When all soul beasts except transformed humanoid soul beasts abruptly perished, the resulting crisis awakened his Self-Created Soul Skill System and threatened to end his cultivation path before it began 1.

Su Mo initially relies on his Self-Created Soul Skill System’s observation function to study soul rings. Realizing observation alone would take years to yield a ring, he identifies Xiao Wu as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast and exchanges secrecy for her detailed knowledge of self-condensing soul rings 3 4.

After successfully condensing his first ring, Su Mo keeps the achievement secret, fearing that exposure would bring danger and unwanted scrutiny from Martial Soul Hall 17. He leaves Nuoding City with Xiao Wu to observe stronger soul masters and develop self-created skills through combat experience 19 22.

While traveling, Su Mo learns to convert his Broken Sword martial soul into energy and fuse it with a refined iron longsword. This creates Soul Weapon Fusion, allowing the weapon to carry his skills while the martial soul absorbs weapon essence and evolves 22 23. His martial soul eventually develops into the dark-red longsword Blood Shadow 42.

Over the following decade, Su Mo cultivates to level 78 while independently condensing increasingly powerful soul rings. After learning that another person has created a soul ring through an artificially awakened soul beast, he chooses to publicize his own technique and claim the role of the soul master world’s savior 42 44.
