Qian Daoliu was introduced as Martial Soul Hall's Pope and a Level 99 Titled Douluo, placing him among the continent's foremost combatants from the outset 4. He had already undergone Angel God trials and possessed access to Angel Divine Power, though he did not reveal this advantage in every battle 121 245.

At the gathering involving the Clear Sky Sect, Qian Daoliu fought Tang Chen in a day-long duel between the Six-Winged Angel and Clear Sky martial souls. Tang Chen prevailed after detonating all nine of his spirit rings, but Qian Daoliu withheld Angel Divine Power and other decisive reserves rather than expose them for pride's sake 65 66.

While visiting Sea God Island with Chen Jianjun, Qian Daoliu recognized Bo Saixi as another divine envoy. He challenged her to assess the Sea God's representative, only to be swiftly defeated; afterward, his repeated attempts to court her were rejected and became common knowledge across the island 117 122 124.

Conflict with Chuan Ling

Qian Daoliu became increasingly concerned by Chuan Ling's unexplained rise, particularly after learning that even Chen Jianjun had joined it. He investigated the organization but could not identify the Nine Spirit Lords or determine their full strength 174 183.

He personally entered Chuan Ling at night to test its leadership, dismissing Xu Xiao and Long Su as inexperienced youths. Long Su immediately shattered his sword with her Golden Dragon Spear, and Qian Daoliu withdrew when Xu Xiao summoned Chen Jianjun 184 185.

His later formal challenge to Chuan Ling ended in defeat. Xu Xiao's Martial Soul Avatar overwhelmed Qian Daoliu's Angel True Body, forcing him to invoke Angel Divine Power.
