Guy cut down the front ranks with the Kubikiribōchō, but Fuguki urged the survivors to use long-range attacks, and a shark-faced youth began a Water Release technique.

• Suikazan Fuguki recognized Might Guy and, panicking, ordered the Kirigakure ninja to attack him together.
• Guy drew the Kubikiribōchō and told Kakashi to protect Rin while he faced the attackers alone.
• Guy used the Multi-Size Technique and Precept-Breaking One Strike Slash to kill more than a dozen Kirigakure ninja and carve a trench through the ground.
• Suikazan Fuguki retreated and ordered the Kirigakure ninja to keep their distance and wear Guy down with long-range ninjutsu.

Guy and Kakashi fought Kirigakure’s forces after Kisame transformed the battlefield with a massive Water Release. Guy used Sea Monk to trap many enemies, but more than 150 strong opponents remained as Rin began to wake.

• Kisame unleashed Great Waterfall Surge, turning the battlefield into an expanse of water where Kirigakure ninjas attacked Guy and Kakashi from range.
• Guy tossed Sea Monk into the water and drew the enemies’ attention while Kisame sent five chakra sharks toward Kakashi and Rin.
• Sea Monk absorbed the water and trapped at least fifty Kirigakure ninjas inside its enormous body, while Guy and Kakashi stood safely above it.
• Rin stirred awake, but Guy secretly struck her with a water droplet and knocked her unconscious again.
• Guy assessed the remaining force and saw more than 150 Kirigakure ninjas, including several jonin, surrounding them.

Guy and Kakashi prepared to fight the remaining Kirigakure force after Guy rescued Rin and the enemy sealed Sea Monk. The chapter ended with Kakashi and Guy charging into 143 opponents.

• Kisame realized Sea Monk was made of seawater and urged Suikazan Fuguki to use Kirigakure's Countercurrent Vortex Sealing Formation.
• The Kirigakure ninjas began sealing Sea Monk, but Guy removed its spirit core, causing its body to collapse into ordinary seawater.

Kakashi and Rin survived Kisame’s attack when Guy’s golden Buddha blocked it, but the seal containing the Three-Tails erupted from Rin and transformed her into Isobu. Guy, Kakashi, and Obito prepared to subdue the rampaging beast and save Rin.

Thirteen masked figures arrived and demanded that Obito leave with them, while Kakashi pressed him for answers about his return. Just as Obito agreed to go, Guy knocked him unconscious and joined Kakashi in blocking the masked group from taking their comrades.

• Guy noticed thirteen black-robed, Uzumaki-masked figures approaching, and Obito recognized that they had come for him.
• Kakashi demanded to know where Obito had been, but Obito refused to explain.
• The masked leader told Obito to come with them, and Obito reluctantly agreed, asking Kakashi to protect Rin.
• Guy struck Obito on the back of the neck and knocked him unconscious before he could leave.

Guy and Kakashi confronted the black-robed group over Obito, learning that White Zetsu had replaced much of his burned body and that Obito would die without it. As Kakashi struggled over whether to let them take Obito, Guy abruptly intervened.

• The black-robed man said they would leave Obito behind only if they could take back what they had given him, and White Zetsu spoke through half of Obito’s face.
• White Zetsu revealed that nearly the entire right half of Obito’s body was made of white matter and said it had saved him after Yugito Nii’s blue flames nearly killed him.
• Kakashi grabbed Obito’s white arm, but White Zetsu detached it without blood to warn him that Obito depended on the white matter to survive.
• White Zetsu walked toward the black-robed man as the white matter peeled away and Obito showed signs of pain, forcing Kakashi to consider letting them take him.
• Kakashi began to agree to the group’s proposal, but Guy suddenly appeared before White Zetsu and ordered him to get back.

Guy separated half of the Three-Tails’ chakra from Rin and forced it into Obito, making him a potential jinchuriki. Obito’s body split apart as White Zetsu tore himself free, while the tailed beast chakra began running wild inside Obito.

• Guy removed the Fire Cloud Kasaya from Rin and cut the Three-Tails’ emerging chakra in half as Isobu began transforming.
• Guy resealed the lower half of Isobu inside Rin and compressed the upper half into a dark red chakra sphere.
• Guy used Stake-Walking Afterimage Step to drive the chakra sphere into Obito’s abdomen, and White Zetsu realized Guy meant to make Obito the Three-Tails’ jinchuriki.

As Obito recovered, the black-robed leader refused to let Guy take him away until they got back what still remained of their white tissue, leaving Kakashi torn over whether to make Obito lose part of his manhood.

• Guy used the Lion's Sealing Roar to suppress the weakened Three-Tails inside Obito.
• The Three-Tails' chakra healed Obito's wounds, but it could not restore his right arm and instead fused White Zetsu's leftover tissue into his body.

After Guy and Kakashi accepted the condition that Obito willingly cooperate in having his memories of the group erased, Obito woke up, realized he was naked, and vanished through a strange distortion.

• Guy offered the White Zetsu tissue on Obito in exchange for Obito’s original body parts, but the black-robed leader rejected his right to negotiate.
• Guy threatened to take the black-robed men down with him, and they eventually offered to let Obito stay if he agreed to have his memories of them erased.

Guy and Kakashi guarded the unconscious Obito and Rin while a masked man brought preserved parts from Obito’s body. Guy reattached Obito’s original limbs and other tissue using the Three-Tails’ chakra, restoring his body except for his missing right eye.

• Guy and Kakashi discussed Obito and Rin’s condition while keeping watch at the Land of Whirlpools border.
• A masked man arrived and checked that Obito’s White Zetsu tissue was intact, then produced jars containing his severed body parts.

Guy left without visiting the orphanage, then entered the hospital with Tsunade, Kakashi, Obito, and Rin.

• Kabuto met Guy outside the hospital with two orphanage children and explained that children took turns watching Konoha’s gate for his return.
• Tsunade praised Kabuto’s medical talent and agreed that Shizune could teach him, while Guy encouraged Kabuto to thank her.
• Kabuto served turtle jelly shaved ice to Guy, Tsunade, Kakashi, Obito, and Rin, then told Guy the orphanage and Ninja Turtle Clan were doing well and the business had made the orphanage nearly self-sufficient.

• Shizune and Guy examined Kakashi while Tsunade assessed his burns and found that skin from his buttocks could be used for a facial graft.
• Obito joked outside the curtain that grafting Kakashi’s buttock skin onto his face would give him a “butt face.”
• Kakashi rejected the buttock graft and chose skin from near his groin, despite Tsunade warning that the procedure and recovery might be less favorable.
• Tsunade told Shizune and Guy to prepare for surgery, and Shizune reassured Kakashi that she would treat the area professionally.

Guy, Obito, and Rin returned to the Konoha encampment in the Land of Grass and reunited with Minato and their friends. Minato reinforced Obito’s tailed beast seal with an Eight Trigrams Seal, then began examining the concealed seal inside Rin.
