Background / History

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion is the Star Dou Forest's Emperor Auspicious Beast, a soul beast associated with the destiny of the forest and its inhabitants. For an extended period, fate compelled her to seek Fang Le and establish a destiny connection with him while he absorbed his first soul ring. She had the guidance verified repeatedly, including by the Silver Dragon King, before bringing Di Tian and Scarlet King to find him. 8

Di Tian initially intended to kill Fang Le because his ability to gain strength by killing soul beasts threatened the forest. The Three-Eyed Golden Lion intervened, warning that Fang Le's death would bring ruin not only to the soul beasts but also to the forest's plants, rivers, earth, and Di Tian himself. She insisted that remaining at Fang Le's side represented the soul beasts' chance of survival. 8

She initiated the connection by pressing her forehead to Fang Le's and activating her Eye of Destiny. Golden light wrapped them in a cocoon, after which she appeared within Fang Le's Sea of Consciousness. The fate power she brought was absorbed by one of the light spheres connected to Fang Le's divine inheritance. 9 10

Following the connection, she repeatedly mediated between Fang Le and the hostile Di Tian, helping establish their tentative alliance. She explained Fang Le's God Trial requirements to the fierce beasts, supported him during his trials, and became a close member of his traveling group. 10 11 16 17

She later received the name Di Lingrui, with Rui'er as her nickname, after revealing that she had previously been known only by titles such as “Auspicious Beast” and “Three-Eyed Golden Lion.” 23

In beast form, Di Lingrui is a small golden-furred lion-like soul beast roughly half a human's height. Her fur resembles flames, while golden scales cover parts of her body. 8

Di Lingrui is affectionate, playful, and openly attached to Fang Le. Shortly after entering his Sea of Consciousness, she pounced on him, playfully licked him, and argued that she was more attractive than any fox or cat he preferred. 9

Despite this childish and clingy manner, she takes fate's warnings seriously. She defied Di Tian's desire to eliminate Fang Le, repeatedly argued for his protection, and viewed alliance with him as essential to the soul beasts' future. 8 10

She is also caring toward Fang Le and those close to him. She comforts him, brings him fruit after he collapses from exhaustion, notices Jiang Nannan's improved fate, and volunteers to guard Mother Jiang following the attack on the Jiang residence. 15 16 25
