Wu Zhangkong becomes Zhong Shenxiu's homeroom teacher in East Sea Academy's intermediate department shortly after Zhong's confinement. Rather than accepting the disciplinary record at face value, he investigates the incident, recognizes that Zhong had been bullied and robbed, and directly asks whether Zhong's excessive counterattack was intentional. 10

He tests Zhong Shenxiu in a protected training room and immediately recognizes the child’s exceptional draconic martial soul, speed, combat instincts, and lethal spear technique. He also identifies Zhong's poor Soul Power efficiency when repeatedly manifesting the Sky Light Dragon Spear. 11 18

As teacher of the eventual Zero Class, Wu Zhangkong structures combat drills, team exercises, practical training, Hall of Heroes assessments, and repeated personal spars to develop his students. He releases Zhong Shenxiu half a day before the end of his confinement and assesses him without initially releasing his own martial soul. Hall of Heroes and Tang Sect Training

Holy Spirit Cult Attack

Driven by revenge for a past blood debt, Wu Zhangkong challenges Leng Yulai during the Holy Spirit Cult incident. The vast difference between a Soul Saint and a Super Douluo leaves him critically injured, but his actions demonstrate his willingness to stand against overwhelming danger. 221

Return to East Sea Academy

Shrek Academy

At Shrek Academy, Wu Zhangkong remains a mentor and advocate for his students despite institutional pressure. He asks Zhong Shenxiu to exercise restraint during the entrance examination, then later openly supports Zhong's decision to leave rather than submit to Cai Yue'er's targeting. 285 324
