Background / History

Void awakened as one of Ji Ye's twin martial souls when he was six years old. It embodies space rather than being inherently a sword martial soul; Ji Ye commonly manifests its power as a translucent Void Sword drawn directly from the void. Its spatial edge tears the air and leaves black cracks along its path. 1 6 25

Before joining Spirit Hall, Ji Ye used Void to escape Flender's control. A grazing strike from the Void Sword injured Flender's shoulder, but Ji Ye recognized that injuring a seven-ring Soul Saint was not the same as being able to kill him. 1

Void's early four-ring abilities allowed Ji Ye to wound Demon Subduing Douluo despite the vast difference in cultivation. Its defensive bypass, spatial movement, trajectory distortion, and destructive cutting power established it as the basis of Ji Ye's combat style. 6 7

Following Sky Dream Ice Silkworm's fusion, Void gained long-range detection, team communication, direct teleportation, and mental attacks. In Dragon Valley, the Space Dragon King later enhanced its ring configuration and granted further spatial techniques. 51 56 57
