Background / History

Tang San arrives at Shrek Academy with Xiao Wu. He recognizes Ji Ye as an unprecedented talent after learning that Ji Ye possesses twin martial souls and innate level-twenty spirit power. 12

When Lion Douluo identifies Xiao Wu as a hundred-thousand-year spirit beast and attempts to capture her, Tang San blocks his path despite being flicked aside. After learning Xiao Wu's identity, he still calls her his little sister and prepares concealed weapons to oppose a Title Douluo. 12 13

Tang Hao reveals himself to be Tang San's father and intervenes against Lion Douluo. Tang San initially fears that Tang Hao may also target Xiao Wu, but Tang Hao promises not to harm her. Tang San subsequently refuses Tang Hao's order to leave Shrek Academy, insisting that he needs to become stronger; Xiao Wu chooses to remain with him. 14 15

During the expedition to obtain Oscar's third spirit ring, Tang San organizes the Shrek team’s marching formation. When the Titan Giant Ape seizes Xiao Wu, his Blue Silver Grass cannot stop it; devastated, he kneels and begs Ji Ye to retrieve her. 28 31

As Ji Ye's power and actions devastate Tang San's allies and family, Tang San becomes driven by revenge. He challenges Ji Ye with the Sea God Trident after Ji Ye returns as the Archon of Void and Time, but is decisively defeated. 103

Ji Ye later captures the Shrek Seven Devils and nearly destroys Tang San with space-time power. Ning Rongrong and Oscar use Resurrection Light to save him, after which Ji Ye reverses Tang San's condition and restores his vitality. Tang San remains determined to fight Ji Ye even after learning that several of his companions have been killed. 108 109 110 111

At age twelve, Tang San is a blue-robed boy with black hair and notably bright eyes. 12

He is determined and stubborn about becoming stronger. Although Tang Hao warns that remaining at Shrek Academy will endanger him, Tang San refuses to leave because he trusts Grandmaster’s recommendation and does not want fear to dictate his choices. 15

He can restrain his emotions under pressure. When Xiao Wu appears to side with Ji Ye due to Ji Ye’s coercion, Tang San is visibly jealous and angry but does not lash out because he believes she has her reasons. 22

Later, Ji Ye’s accusations that Tang San’s revenge is merely personal justice cause Tang San’s convictions to waver, particularly when he recalls Spirit Hall's awakening services and subsidies for commoners. 111
