Background / History

Di Jun was already a principal figure of the Demon Race when the Ancestral Witches suffered defeat against him and Tai Yi. The loss prompted the witches to entrust their future decisions to Zhu Jiuyin. 1

As Heavenly Emperor, Di Jun faced the consequences of the Demon Race’s large-scale slaughter of living beings. The scale of the atrocities reached even the Ten Great Demon Gods and their subordinate tribes, leaving his imperial decree effectively unenforceable. Hongjun consequently used Purple Heaven Divine Lightning to punish Di Jun and Tai Yi. 41 60

Di Jun showed greater restraint than Tai Yi during the confrontation with Eastern Duke. When Tai Yi prepared to attack the newly appointed Head of Male Immortals, Di Jun recognized that doing so immediately after Hongjun’s appointment would openly insult the Dao Ancestor. 61

Personality

Di Jun is composed and politically aware when immediate confrontation would be disadvantageous, as shown by his decision to restrain Tai Yi rather than provoke Hongjun through an attack on Eastern Duke. 61

However, his leadership proved unable to control the Demon Race’s entrenched violence.
