History

Creation and first generation

Before the Human Race's birth, Zhu Jiuyin identified humanity as the symbol of the Humanity Dao, whose creative nature could temporarily suppress Turbid Qi. He also foresaw that demons would covet humans for the trace of creation origin within them, making the unborn race vulnerable to slaughter 53 54.

Nuwa and Zhu Jiuyin selected a valley on the eastern side of Mount Buzhou as the Human Race's Ancestral Land, seeking a location with mountains, water, and distance from powerful demonic beasts 122. Nuwa shaped humanity from Three Lights Divine Water, Nine Heavens Breathing Soil, fragments of the Law of Creation, and her own essence blood; Zhu Jiuyin added Ancestral Witch essence blood to forge their physiques and spirits 122.

Nuwa then used the Qiankun Cauldron for 81 years to transform the Human Race from acquired beings into innate beings 123. Great Dao Merit descended upon their emergence: Nuwa, Zhu Jiuyin, Houtu, and the newborn humans all received shares based on their contributions 123.

The first generation consisted of 129,600 Innate Humans. Zhu Jiuyin warned all Primordial powers against harming them for ten Yuanhui, backed by Nuwa, Houtu, Dijiang, and Fuxi 124.

Independent growth and expansion

The Human Race developed clothing, tools, and a primitive Qi-refining method during its first ten thousand years, earning merit through its own creations 125. Zhu Jiuyin and Nuwa then transmitted the Nine-Turn Primordial Profound Art of Creation to the Three Ancestors before withdrawing from direct guidance so the race could mature independently 126.

Their population expanded explosively through the emergence of the Acquired Human Race. Though Acquired Humans generally had lower cultivation ceilings than Innate Humans, their immense population ensured that exceptional individuals could equal or surpass their innate predecessors 127. Within slightly more than three Yuanhui, the race exceeded one trillion people, produced over one thousand Great Luo cultivators, and became a second-rate Primordial power 128.

Once their population exceeded one trillion, Zhu Jiuyin allowed humans to leave their ancestral valley and spread throughout the Primordial World 131. Their stated racial ideal became:

“Self-strengthening and never-ceasing, carrying all things with great virtue.” 131

Rise to a major power

With Zhu Jiuyin and Nuwa as protectors, Fuxi's support as Nuwa's brother, and inheritances from Sage sects, the Human Race entered an extended period of prosperity 147. After thirty Yuanhui, it had become a first-rate power, with the Three Ancestors at late Quasi-Sage and 63 Quasi-Sage experts 147.

Fuxi later became Human Sovereign while remaining Hall Master of the Law Enforcement Hall. The Human Race accepted that members burdened by deep Karmic Force should be suppressed; before Fuxi needed to act, the Three Ancestors personally suppressed such individuals to preserve the race's moral order 152.

After three hundred Yuanhui, the Human Race had become the third-largest Primordial power, behind only the Witch and Demon races. Its cultivation base included three Sub-Sage Ancestors, 317 Quasi-Sages, and more than 800,000 Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals 153.

Human–Demon War

Demon elites eventually targeted the Human Race for resources, massacring trillions of humans, including three Quasi-Sages and more than 2,000 Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals 153 154. The attack ended humanity's sheltered early era and ignited the Human–Demon War 155.

Human armies rapidly learned systematic warfare: reconnaissance, command, concentrated strikes, protection, and logistical support. Their forces could endure an average casualty rate of 64%, compared with 8% for Demon Race forces 155 156. The conflict became a wider crusade against demons steeped in Karmic Force, drawing neutral factions to the Human side under the banner of justice 157.

Following the war, much of the Demon Race fled or withdrew. The Human Race expanded across roughly four-fifths of the Primordial Continent and eventually accounted for about half of its living beings 204.

Sovereigns, civil war, and unification

Fuxi selected Shennong as his successor. Upon becoming Earth Sovereign, Shennong attained the Hunyuan Realm, making him the first Human Hunyuan powerhouse and confirming the Human Race's status as Primordial hegemon 205 206.

Shennong's breakthrough also intensified competition for the Human Emperor position. When the Xuanyuan Clan succeeded as Human Emperor, he sought to replace the loose tribal system with a unified nation, provoking resistance from tribal leaders whose authority would be diminished 221.

Chiyou, formerly a Hunyuan Great Witch, reincarnated through the Six Paths of Reincarnation to contend for the throne as a Human. Human leadership accepted him as a new type of Witch-Human, born to Human parents and capable of benefiting the race regardless of victory or defeat 222. His contest with Xuanyuan was fought through peak Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal Primordial Spirit avatars inside a Great Thousand World, preventing catastrophic damage to the Primordial World 222.

Xuanyuan's eventual victory unified the eastern and southern tribal alliances. The transformation of tribes into a nation marked the Human Race's second major period of leapfrog development and established the Human Emperor as the embodiment of the human state 223 224.

Later development

Human–Witch intermarriage became particularly common. Their descendants, known as Witch-Humans, inherited the Human Race's potential for Primordial Spirit cultivation alongside the Witch Race's physical strength and innate law-based abilities 205.

The long reigns and prolific descendants of Shennong and Xuanyuan led to the rise of the “Descendants of Yan and Huang” among humanity's upper ranks. To prevent permanent concentration of authority, the Dao Ancestor, Underworld Emperor, and Earth Mother restricted Human Emperors' reign lengths and childbirth 228.

Creation affinity

The Human Race is the representative race of the Humanity Dao and carries a trace of creation origin 53 54.

• Its growth and creative development can suppress Turbid Qi for a time.
• This suppression is conditional: should humanity weaken or cease developing, suppressed Turbid Qi may erupt more violently 53.
• Human–Witch offspring combine humanity's Primordial Spirit potential with Witch Race physical and law-based talents 205.

Innate and Acquired lineages

The race possesses two principal branches with distinct foundations.

• Innate Humans — The original 129,600 humans, all born with superior innate foundations 124.
• Acquired Humans — Later-born humans whose usual potential is lower, though outstanding individuals can rival or surpass Innate Humans through merit, fortune, and cultivation 127.
• Most Acquired Humans cannot reach Golden Immortal; reaching Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal generally requires a foundation comparable to an Innate Demon God 228.

Reproduction and population growth

Humanity's greatest collective advantage is its combination of intelligence, rapid reproduction, and large population.

• Humans are intelligent from birth and are therefore recognized as “people” under the Three Daos 224.
• Their population produces a steady stream of cultivators with exceptional foundations as their numbers rise 224.
• Human gestation lasts no more than 81 years even for highly gifted descendants, allowing a far faster population recovery than the Demon Race 152.

Adaptation and warfare

The Human Race learns rapidly through experience, especially in organized conflict.

• It developed systematic warfare during the Human–Demon War, including reconnaissance, command, focused strikes, defense, and logistical support 155.
• Human armies demonstrated far greater cohesion and endurance than Demon Race forces, continuing to fight even after senior officers fell 156.
• Centralized organization under Xuanyuan strengthened the race beyond what loose tribal alliances could achieve 224.
